Guy Person, Agent of C.L.E.A.V.E.R

[Guy Person, Agent of C.L.E.A.V.E.R walks in to an office and sits down across from a figure in shadows behind a desk. He adjusts the sleeves of his kelly green suit jacket]

GUY: May.

[Commander May leans forward out of the shadows, an eyepatch over her left eye, the rest of her aging face immaculately made up]

MAY: For the last time, Agent Person, it's Commander to you.

GUY: So what's the job.

MAY: Elijah Nosk. We know he has connections to former IRA, KGB, and CIA members, that he recently received a shipment of government-grade technology near Dublin, and absolutely nothing else. The man is an enigma. [While May has been talking, Guy has set the newton's cradle on her desk into motion] You're tasked with reconnaissance, recovery of the classified technology, and if necessary elimination of Nosk. Now, [She lightly plucks the ball at the end of the newton's cradle off the frame as it reaches the end of its swing] this is an extremely dangerous mission.

GUY: You tell me that every time.

MAY: This time, I mean it. You won't be operating alone on this one.

[On cue, the door behind him opens and a man in a grey tee and black combats strides into the room. There is a scar on his cheek]

BLACK: Ma'am. Agent Person.

GUY: [Standing up] If it isn't my favourite archrival! The League's working with us on this one?

MAY: Yes. They felt this was an issue that ought to be addressed in tandem.

BLACK: I'll be glad to do away with the competition. [Offers hand to Guy]

GUY: But Eddie, the competition's the best part. [Shakes hand]

MAY: You won't just be working with Agent Black.

GUY: [Sitting back down] I'm intrigued.

MAY: [Opens a folder on the desk for Guy and Eddie to see] Part of a Chinese intiative to create a group to rival C.L.E.A.V.E.R or the League, they named their agents after the Chinese zodiac. She was designated Rat.

BLACK: [Leaning over Guy] Why does she have two sets of dog tags in this picture?

MAY: The second belonged to the Dragon. She wears them as a trophy. She's an expert in infiltration and close quarters combat. [She produces another folder] Oleg Varnikov. Former bounty hunter turned KGB agent turned hitman. Now officially retired. Expert in any firearm or explosive you'd care to name. [Produces another folder] Malcolm Penine, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, served two terms in the US Air Force. If it flies, he can pilot it. [Folder] If she has a name, we don't know it, but she goes by Grassheart. Environmental activist active in the British Isles, known for her use of violence, guerilla tactics, and difficulty to capture. If anyone has the contacts that can lead you to Nosk, it'll be her.

GUY: And we have to assemble these avengers on our own, do we?

MAY: Mr. Penine has agreed to join you and will be arriving later today. In terms of recruiting the others, we can offer you a substantial hiring budget.

GUY: And you're not -equipping- me with anything else?

MAY: [Sighs] You may report to Kraft for your new gadgets.

GUY: Yes! [Gets up and starts leaving] Come on Eddie, I'll show you the best part of the job.

[Guy leaves. Eddie is standing upright with his hands behind his back, fidgeting very slightly]

MAY: Dismissed.

BLACK: Ma'am. [He leaves hastily]
