Her family was a musically talented family, her dad owning a music store and teaching students how to play numerous instruments. One of her brothers was a trainee at an entertainment company while her other brother was working at an entertainment company training some of the trainees in dance. Mina was very influenced to become a musician. Her father taught her lots of things at a young age like how to play instruments like the piano and the guitar. He also gave her lessons in composing which improved her writing abilities. As she grew older she improved her dancing and rapping a lot. But was attracted to singing. That was definitely her forte and what she enjoyed to do, she still loved singing and dancing but rapping stuck to her. At school she had a few close friends and quite good grade. She also joined a few sports teams like volleyball and basketball but just thought of them as a mere hobby. You could always find her in the music room playing aroud with the instruments and improving her skills in rapping, singing and dancing. She was always passionate abut being a performer so at age 15 after getting her dad's permission she auditioned for an entertainment company with her rap,singing, and dance, and she immediately got accepted and started training.

In Mina's family, first of she has her father, Kim Kang Min. Her dad is currently 50 years old and he works as a music teacher and a music store owner, and him and Mina are very close. Next we have Mina's oldest brother Kim Hanbin who is currently 27 years old. He works as a trainer at an entertainment company, and Mina and Hanbin are close. Lastly we have Mina's second brother Kim Jonghyun who just turned 25 years old. He is working for an entertainment company as a trainee who is soon to debut. And him and Mina are
