  1. Why I wait to say anything is out of fear for my own safety, family members, and what they may try to do in "retaliation," though speaking to my friends they have convinced me to finally open up about the incident.
  2.
  3. On May, 8th 2018, I was up visiting a family member at "Mission Regional Medical Center" just like any other time, the Hospital Staff seemed like friendly people, and no one would expect what would happen that very early morning at around 6:00 AM or 0600 hours.
  4.
  5. Early morning the patient / family member decided to take a shower at around I am guessing 2-3 AM in the morning, and when a patient takes a shower generally they bring in the towels / cloths for a shower, and change the bedding, as I was there with the family member I assist them with their needs, and being a patient diagnosed with "deminita" / "alzheimerz" as well as "recurring UTI's, and being a Diabetic along with other health problems at times they need more help, or even someone to be at their side / talk to than at other times.
  6.
  7. Well the family member sent me out to get them water as they were going to try to get some sleep, so I go out to get them water, and nothing more suddenly the staff start to ask my questions like.
  8.
  9. - Where are you from.
  10. - Where you get your accent.
  11. - Questions about work.
  12. - Questions about family member.
  13.
  14. I actually get the "Where are you from" thing a lot, so when someone usually just is curious and starts asking questions, I figure they are just curious and being social I got no problem with that, because the community and people I hang with are always open and social about their lives as a lot of people are.
  15.
  16. And I remember quite well talking about work mostly that I build customized gaming computers, and working in the IT field of technology, as well as talking about family member how they are afraid / scared to go out in public because of the crimes, and shootings in the area, and I try to get them to go out more get them over their anxiety / panic attacks or being afraid to go out in public especially alone.
  17.
  18. Well I am guessing 3 hours later after I returned to the room and was asleep at their side, I am woken up by security who comes to the room, and starts asking about a "Bo**" or the "B Word" " I am thinknig to myself, and just like What the F*** is going on what B***...
  19.
  20. Basically I wanted to "record" the incident for my own protection, but hospital security was like don't touch your phone at this point I am thinking to myself it's either because they don't want their accusations to be on the record, or because they think there is really a threat / "E******* Device" and they are afraid of what a person could do obviously if you watch the movies you know what I am talking about.
  21.
  22. They basically couldn't get their story straight, did I threaten with a "B****" or a "Firea***" First I was accused of the B Word" then I was accused of threatening to directly bring a firearm, and for no reason at all harm many people, not in these exact words but the way I understand it.
  23.
  24. What I think about the whole incident.
  25.
  26. - Why wait 3 hours, or over an hour later to call the police?
  27.
  28. If someone is there threatening you, you immediately call the police, hit a panic button, or signal for help, I suppose the exception is if a person actually has a device, or a weapon and is directly threatening and there is nothing you can do, which clearly was not the case here.
  29.
  30. - If they want to "Tresspass someone", they could have simply asked a person to leave, given a letter of tresspass, or stated that they simply didn't want a person on their property, no need for accusations that couldn't be proven.
  31.
  32. - Most Certainly they did not have to do this in front of an ill / sick patient to the point where they were calling me on the phone worried, and sick because of everything going on, as well as causing a patient who also has Heart Problems the amount of stress they did.
  33.
  34. - Why not just ask "Are you threatening us sir?" If you t akeinto account that someone being social and talking to a person and someone misinterpreted something that was said maybe when I said I build custom gaming pc's, or that I am a gamer on the side they hear something more sinister which can happen, which is why it can be a good idea to just ask especially if a person isn't standing there in a threatening manor, or armed with any type of weapon.
  35.
  36. Security really concerns me (This applies to pretty much anywhere) and is mostly common sense though from my experience this facility lacked common sense all together.
  37.
  38. As I work in IT field mostly Computer Hardware / Software on a basic level, I also research vulnerability's related to Cyber Security, and have basic knowledge into vulnerability's of Hardware, and Software which often go unchecked by many facility's throught the world, which is part of the reason peoples personal information is found compromised online, and often hits the news, as well as notice flaws in physical security due to research on physical security and vulnerability's, and even encryption, communication packets / data.
  39.
  40. I would say security was nice, and respectful as they could be given they may have been provided false info by the staff who knows, though the way the incident was handled was pretty dumb and below I will detail why.
  41.
  42. - If what I was being accused of was real which it wasn't, but if it were many could have been hurt, despite security saying not to touch your phone, if a person really did have a device, Bluetooth can be a trigger, same thing with "Ok Google".
  43.
  44. - RF ID Technology still in use in many facility that can be cloned, and used by unauthorized personal to gain entry, or in this case access to computer terminals they shouldn't have access to, which can be used for many illict purposes.
  45.
  46. - What is even more alarming to me is the lack of physical security, especially when a facility feels the need to make a false accusation, but they still call me to pick up family members who get sick and tell me to wait outside, but there are no guards there at all most every time, which to me is a slap in the face, and feels to me like they just wanted to Troll, Swat, Grief me for some personal reason to begin with just my personal opinion.
  47.
  48. Security vulnerability from within?
  49.
  50. - A year or more before the incident took place, as the facility offeres free wi-fi to all it's guests my app detected they were using a default UserName and Password, which I prompty reported to them, though the incident was fixed asap and said that no ones information was at risk which could be true, though an advanced hacker with network access could have used the public WI-FI to gain access to the INTRANET, which is basically a LAN only network which houses all the patient information, though such requires physical access it is possible, especially when you can use a persons own seperate wi-fi to send out information by opening ports and setting up virtual server / configuration.
  51.
  52. Even worse a janitor that works for minimum wage can be a very big security risk without proper security risk especially when it comes to the type of "Server On A Stick attacks" and open USB's everywhere could be anyone.
  53.
  54. If you read the news online quite often, you will read about "Massive Data Breaches" even in the worst read about Cyber Attacks, and this is how it happens lack of proper security, and it's a concern for me especially having family members who have their information there.
  55.
  56. On other notes it's clearly worth noting about Prime Healthcare.
  57.
  58. - Prime Healthcare previously paid $65 million dollars in a Lawsuit for Medicare fraud.
  59.
  60. - Mission Regional Medical Center laid off 120+ Employee with Prime Healthcare take-over, this was in 2017, just before the false accusations which is also worth noting, as I have lived in the city 20+ Years, and for someone to make such accusations is insane, but also worth nothing that I visited this facility every since 2005 when I was sick many many years ago, and when my Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimerz many times people were social always asked questions and friendly never at any point before Prime Healthcare ownership was I accused of making a Terroristic Threat to cause harm to others, nor would there be any reason I would want to harm anyone especially a Hospital, which making such a threat would violate so many laws it's impossible to count.
