  16. About Logan River Academy, #ShutLoganRiver, the Troubled Teen Industry, & #FreeTheKids

  18. Logan River Academy is a licensed residential treatment facility in Logan, Utah that uses cruel and inhumane practices on learning disabled and at-risk children. Numerous survivors have come forward over the years alleging long-term solitary confinement, lack of proper medical care, as well as physical abuse and an inappropriate sexual encounter between a staff member and a student. At least one survivor is scheduled to be interviewed on the WTFATTA podcast starting at 7:15PM. Shutdown Logan River launched in 2013 with the stated goal of bringing about the closure of Logan River Academy, seeking justice for its survivors, ensuring abusive staff are never allowed to work with children again, and standing in solidarity with other Troubled Teen Industry activists and organizations. Towards that goal, Shutdown Logan River is proud to launch #FreeTheKids, an effort to unify survivors of various residential treatment centers, raise general public awareness of this despicable and destructive industry, and free as many children as possible from the repression they are currently enduring in Troubled Teen Industry treatment centers.
