  1. While unfortunate, Disaster Area has decided to take a backseat position with RBY 2k20. While some may see this as an iffy time, I believe it is a time to embrace new opportunities.
  2.
  3. I will not lie: I have considered the idea scrapping RBY 2k20 multiple times. But, I want to give restructuring the place a go. I agree that the site is on a downturn, but it could bounce back given the proper push it needs. I want to be that push. I won't go into the nitty-gritty of the problems, as we're not here for that. You can TL;DR it with "Little communication, Plague takes up the mantle of everything, puts her foot down" anyway.
  4.
  5. What we have built, resource-wise, is incredible. The site has boundless potential, and if fixed up, could become something great. We have a strategy dex of our own, a full-scale resource article system, and more. There is so much there that we could make use of. However, there are challenges. Some of the driving site developers from before have, as is now known, kind of gone missing. Despite communication attempts, nothing has really worked. This will be a pressing challenge. However, our PS Server is a different story. It's definitely one of the better servers out there, with plenty to offer. Hell, we even run tournaments on it. I think this is a point where we can grow.
  6.
  7. Should my attempts to fix the place go sour, I want to have the idea of merging with the RBY Lower-Tier Discord in the cards. I don't want to do this yet - it is extreme and I'm not even sure what EB0LA would say - but it seems like an idea worth entertaining.
  8.
  9. So I want to put forward changes I want to make going forward;
  10. - New staff team
  11. The current admin/mod staff are extremely inactive outside of me and Disaster Area. With the latter taking a backseat, there will need to be new staff involved. I will be attempting to form a new team in the coming days.
  12.
  13. - Recruit new developers
  14. I'm like, 90% sure I will need to put money into this, but I want to try and recruit developers to fix the site. There is a LOT that needs fixing there, but if finished, the site could be something incredible, and among the best RBY sites around. There is way too much potential to just throw away there. If anyone is curious, please, by all means, message me and we can negotiate.
  15.
  16. - Restructure the Discord Server
  17. The Discord server has way too many channels, for starters, which I believe is a central cause of the activity issues. I will be restructuring this in the coming days to try and make it more accessible for new members. I don't think this is particularly difficult, and I have pretty extensive experience here, so it should be simple.
  18.
  19. - Attempt to improve the contribution system
  20. I think "open contribution" is a better way to go about the current system. Right now, you ask Disaster Area for a role and gain access to the contribution channels. This isn't efficient at all, and since you just ask for a role, you may as well just have it open to anyone. I'm open to suggestions on how to utilize these potential changes going forward.
  21.
  22. - Try to reach out more
  23. I think a pressing part of RBY 2k20's problems is a lack of outreach. It's not too easy to access outside of the Pokemon Showdown server listings and happening to see the room intro, which is absurd. There should be more interaction outside of here, more partnerships even. We have a whole "sister servers" channel but don't even have half of the RBY servers out there. Let's work on that.
