The first, the August Star Imperator who he struck down in his shinmaic chrysalis-only to become powerful beyond imagination! The second, his own Scarlet Empress who was given final release by the August Star's light. She made alliances betwixt An-Teng and their Pyrian Queen, sent her cyan handmaiden to seek an accord between Yu-Shan and the Silver Forest, and gave unto the Black Boar Who Twists The Skies a worthy vessel! And third was the Silent Wind, who hating and loving the Star for accepting her jagged-edged love but eloping with the Empress took her place at the wedding-and lo!"

"The Dragons' tackle went flying over the hills on scarlet winds! An army of champions in green and gold cleft into his coils! The Empress took on herself his siblings' rage, and rent from him his power and principle! And yet the Dragon might yet have won for by his lies Existence acknowledged that he had supplanted the Divine Creator-yet the August Star's Red Star Judgement sundered his hollow heart, and rent Creation into the Shattered Annex!"

"Ha! Think ye that was ter end o' the wickedest and bleakest of all the world-shapers? He had supped on Nirguna's fruits, boy! He spat poison in the ears of Estasia, an' darkened the skies over Kamak with demon child-spawnin' smoke. He conjured demons in the shadows of Sova an' sunk his fangs in the hearts of Nurad. He did all in his power to make your squabblin' nations into an engine of extinction, an' when he found out his sibling was in torpor he started to ramp up his dark deeds"

"An he might've gotten away with it. If the August Star hadn't gone a-wanderin' there too"

"Now, I'm just a salty ole seadog wise 'n canny enough not to get my Great Mother's-glory me to her-attention an' to suck up to Ng Nirvana when she came along preachin' the August Star's heretic gospel. But way I heard it, the Star first came to your land wanting to bring the justice of the Yozis to him. He was a terror an' a half in his crusade, the Star was. But he was a Star of t' people first an' foremost"

"And that's why he got distracted rescuing a puppy from a ventilation shaft, while the Dragon hid and seethed"

"All day an' night the Star walked to the core, a-ranting and a-raving 'bout the injustices of the world, and yet each time he saw sufferin' he'd let out a scream like a steam whistle and come down like a bolt of lightning on it. Some say when he swallowed up all the curses of his benefactors, the one that made him rage for the innocent swallowed up all t' others. I say it's a blessing for your kin!"

"Twas he who brought the Elegant Nova of Progression's grand designs to the Tripartite's attention, an' shared his own insights t' prove the Great Maker had at last begun to stir in his slumber"

"Twas he who bound the Palladium Worm in chains of thrice-forged destiny, and woke the spirit in it's heart to make it a fine servant of Autocthonia"

"Twas he who won the hearts of yonder metal maidens, and with 'em forged a grand Essence nexus that turned industry into Quintessence to wake the machine spirits of yon world to purpose and good health"

"The Star ain't a good liar, you understand? He has folk for that. The Cyan handmaid. The Moon-touched one. And he's a healer before a warrior, so 'twas his Invincible Sword Princess who slew many of the horrors on the way, an' the Sorrowful Secret that bound the Apostates under his sign an' sigil. No, the Star spent most of his time a-railing at Autochthon on channels only him an' his brethren could hear. Railing about ancient crimes and negligences and whatnot"

"But y'see, even in the dreams they quarrelled in the Star couldn't help but pity the Maker for what drove him to this. An' for his part, though the Star balked at this approval the Maker praised the Star for innovatin' where his siblings were content on their fallen thrones. They shared secrets, I'm told. Forbidden truths of how the Maker's infection let him reach beyond his grasp, an' the makin' of champions"

"By the time the Star had reached the Maker's Core, he couldn't find it in him to bring harm on the Maker, and instead brought his Eye to his Core to awaken and heal him. This, the Dragon could not abide, and at last came roaring from the smoke and oil, tearin' free of the Maker's flesh like a maddened maggot!"

"'Scream not for thunder and steel, for we share flesh and when I bleed so do you!' rasped the Dragon. 'Lay a hand on me, August Star, and this world bleeds too!' he croaked, dribbling liquid oblivion. But the Maker and the Star set a cunning trap. As the Star's new comrades fought the Dragon, the Star raised high the Yozi-Word called Surrender that the Dragon but not the Maker had spoken. And the Star wielded Law as a judge's gavel, and condemnd the Dragon to ten thousand years of inauspicious could-have-been futures through the terms of his oaths!"

"And the Maker readied a net he had once pondered to use on his wayward sister, an' entrapped the Dragon with it. Now woken, he returned to Creation with the miserable Dragon That Was as his gift, where his maimed siblings danced around the Shining Answer"

"'Let their be peace between us' he spoke, 'writ upon the scarred form of this wretched traitor to us both'. And the Yozis were wroth at his presumption, but the Star danced and sang before them, and to their astonishment though he too was infected he quenched the void in Unconquered light and made of it a pleasing shimmer. Seeing even for him, there was an answer the Yozis made truce with yon Maker, and twisted the Dragon into a living cyst-seal upon the Maw of Oblivion with their compact scarred on his scabs, and so we their servants journey with him to seek a cure in purest Chaos!"

"So man the mizzenmast, and honour the Maker! Who reforged himself into great galleon that trawls the Wyld for cures! And light the torches, and honour the Star! Whose lights a new path for us to follow, til all are one!"
