  5. Meryem Abay is the child of turkish guest workers who had moved to western europe in the 60’s and great-granddaughter of an old shaman back in Turkey. As a result she grew up in a very westernized society, shedding the old trappings of her grandparents culture in adolescent rebellion. She attended school’s University, had boyfriends (and a few girlfriends), smoked and drinked and generally was ‚assimilated‘ very well.
  6. As a student of archeology she went during a dig in the backlands of Turkey, not far from her great-grandfathers abode, as post-doc. While originally just considered a boring run-of-the-mill excavation, it soon went awry when an old hidden grave was discovered. Her curiosity picked, she was the first through the door when it was opened…and the first one hit when the age old creature inside, a servant of the Old Gods, was unleashed.

  8. Only the timely arrival of her great-grandfather and some of his acquaintances from the Venatori Umbrorum saved her life…at a cost. The rituals he used to save her did more than just heal her wounds, it also awakened the dormant magical potential in her blood. Furthermore, she had stumbled upon proof of the existance of a Old God almost forgotten, which brought the attention of the true Venatori upon her. She was offered the usual choice: Join up or be killed swiftly to prevent the Old God’s grasp in this world to strenghten again.

  10. Since then Meryem has worked to find and secure similar hidden gravesites and cult locations to bring in the Venatori to take care of it before something like her own experiences happen again.

  57. Leo Kawata is the son of a Japanese Satori demon…and not much more is known. He specializes in aquiring dangerous artefacts and the like out of lost graves and the like before they can be contained.
