+cabadejo __ It is not a stupid question and I have wondered about it myself because in the allegedly live "ISS" feed it routinely goes into darkness and the "ISS" *itself goes DARK.*

*If it is dark then how is anyone below supposed to be able to see it?*

Thus to view the sun reflecting off of the "ISS" must mean seeing it during moments of dawn/dusk when there are precise angles and positions where it is reflecting sunlight AND be viewable overhead.

However, surely this must reduce the potential viewing opportunities etc. *And so for something that orbits 16 times a day it may be that it is only visible for a small portion of that time.*

Given that the Earth is almost always so darn cloudy (95% of the time when we view the "ISS" live feed the Earth below is blanketed in clouds) and so even when it is supposed to be visible you still need a clear sky to even see it!

All of these restrict any potential viewing opportunities etc.


This makes it even more rare to see and thus film (especially in such a way so as to make out details). Clear sky is needed between the observer and the alleged "ISS" at all times of its path.

It is made out that the "ISS" is easily seen and very common but that just isn't true. *And when something is rare and difficult to see it becomes a magnet for scammers and con-artists who for whatever reason will fake it for the attention, views, clicks, dollars, lols or "respect".*


Of the people who believe the "ISS" is real surely they acknowledge the probability of people to produce fakes for these reasons. *And so I wonder how they go about figuring out whether they are looking at a genuine image/video or just a contrived image.*

That is to say - a person who believes the "ISS" is real and has looked at images and video online - does that person ever consider the possibility they have looked at something fake and fabricated?

That's where belief control comes in. Since they believe it is real and since they believe it orbits the Earth often and since they believe it can be easily observed and since the person with the image/video purports to have the correct equipment - then why would they consider the image/video to be fake?

But yet we know that fake images get submitted and accepted to professional outfits like "National Geographic" and can sometimes make their way to the front cover of such a widely circulated professional nature and photography magazine.

If people can fake things that get past the editing and selection teams at National Geographic then how much easier must it be to fake the "ISS" and get that accepted into an article on an online astronomy magazine?

(This is a point I will be making much more persuasively in an upcoming video.)

I have travelled on planes where when there were astronomical wonders to be seen and the pilot would say to the passengers, _"if you look out the left window and look up/down"_ etc.

And so wouldn't it be the case that planes have an arrangement such that if it were possible to see the "ISS" from a plane (because it is well above any clouds) that they might let people know about it?

It is once again something that if the "ISS" were real you'd expect something like it (if not all the time then at least some of the time and especially when the alleged "ISS" was new and first purportedly built etc).

*It becomes yet another of the answers to the question "what's missing?"* - which can be difficult to think about _until_ you have had your attention drawn to something *and then it becomes the most obvious and glaring thing in the world.*

I'll check the video stats for views from the UK but when I took a squiz at the stats yesterday it was predominantly coming from the US. Most of the thumbs down came from the US and a handful from Thailand which are surely puppet/troll accounts.

In a day or two I will do a comprehensive screengrab of all of my channel starts for 2015.

I think each year I'll do that and perhaps even biannually/quarterly etc. It isn't of interest to most people but for some people it is.

It will also show the growth of a real channel. *I know that I have earned every single subscriber, thumbs up and positive comment whereas I cannot be so sure about any of the other channels.*
