The Eladrin city of Dayeworn is a growing force in a section of the Feywild, after the fall of a part-tyrant, part force of nature named The Winter Witch. The Winter Witch was an all-powerful force that had sheer power comparable to that of a god, and could exert control over multiple planes from its position in the Feywild due to it existing parallel to multiple planes across the multiverse. Few are sure what its motivations were besides total control, but it's assumed that it's a being from a much higher plane of existence than even a Fey could comprehend, and the very idea of the Winter Witch returning from its vanquished state is a nightmare the likes of which even nightmares themselves fear.

In the present day, Dayeworn acts as a medium ground between two main rival factions of Fey: The Seelie and the Unseelie. While relationships between the two courts have always been frisky, tensions are at an all time high after great Oracles all across the land reported of prophecy that stated the return of the Winter Witch was very soon; Further complicating things, Oracles from the main cities of each court claim that the ones who will harbor its return are fey from the opposite faction. Now the only thing that prevents each court from burning eachother to the ground are the warriors of Dayeworn, and recruits are growing increasingly thin day after day....

Of course, Dayeworn has never been held in high regard by outside cities either, due to the excessive amount of power the Dayeworn church holds over their section of the Feywild. Despite having the outwards intention of preserving the safety of the fey, their regime has been claimed to be an oppressive dictatorship, with multiple unnecessary Fey deaths by their hands, as well as percieved xenophobia towards outsiders, especially towards Unseelie from Shadowfell.

Dayeworn is the mirror image of a once-prosperous city in the Material realm, now said to have been swallowed by darkness and decay, which makes one wonder why its Feywild parallel is still standing at all. It's home to about 20,000 people, which is a good deal less than even the individual fey cities it polices over, which only goes to show just how powerful the Dayeworn Church is, as understocked as they may be.
The Church of Dayeworn is ruled by a circle of masters named Arch-Fathers, who primarily govern another circle of Priests and Priestesses who are primarily tasked with furthering research and exploration into unknown planes. The numbers of these priests have greatly dwindled in recent centuries, making the few that remain all the more valuable. It's said that a particularly high leveled priest can operate on a consciousness that exists in multiple planes at once, but this sadly leaves the priests easily vulnerable to madness or incomprehensible influence.

To assist with research in these trying times, as well as to preserve later generations of planar researchers, the Dayeworn Panurian College was founded a few centuries ago, quickly being home to some of the ambitious scholars within all of the Feywild. Some of the techniques employed by the college, however, have come under fire for being much too straightforward and risky, with the Panurian scholars being known for their rather no-nonsense and one-track-minded attitudes, a stark contrast compared to the usual eccentricity of the Feywild. Their popular thought is that even those as seemingly above-it-all like the Eladrin still lack insight, and in fact may even possess less of it than those on the Material Realm, for the eyes of the Fey have yet to truly open.

While the Seelie and Unseelie courts are spread throughout multiple locations in the Feywild, their two primary strongholds are among the home cities of thier two opposing queens, Queen Tatania of the Seelie, and the Queen of Air and Darkness representing the Unseelie. The two courts haven't always been this hostile towards eachother, but they tend to get pretty testy during desperate times, and with their forces having grown strong enough to stand a chance against members of the Dayeworn church, their increasing power along with instability is a source of much anxiety for Dayeworn officials.
