- - Having multiple actions per turn (without sealing skills) is incredibly strong, so I highly recommend the use of the slime race which has access to this.
- - Defeating the superbosses is possible with most races (perhaps any race), but the ones covered here are (in my opinion) easiest to win with.
- - Characters with access to multiple races are recommended, due to their versatility.

- - Generally, I prefer to construct teams with a mix of 'offense' and 'support' characters. The offense character deals damage, while the support character provides buffs and inflicts status effects.

- - King: divine kingship (ruling skill) = for 5 turns, the user gains +30% HP regen, +8% MP regen, +30% SP regen
- (Note: Black Marketeer / Item User / Three Star Chef skills can be useful, but I prefer not to rely on having gold/items/food)

- 3. General Strategy
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- - A generally safe strategy is to maintain deflectors, have support characters neutralize the boss if necessary (using status effects and/or MP drain), then use an offense character (with buff stacking) to deal damage.
- - Deflectors (such as Vicarious Clara and Electromagnetic Armor) can be used to block the majority of damaging skills. Try to always keep deflectors refreshed on every member of your party during fights. Status effects may still go through.
- - Bosses can dispel deflectors. Try to keep this in mind and not get caught out.
- - Spiritualist leans 'Skill Use: Summoning', so Vicarious Clara can be used in any job.
- - Deflectors can be recast additional times to stack extra layers. (making use of this makes fights MUCH easier)
- - If a character has passive access to makina skills, Electromagnetic Armor (Machinist) is preferred over Vicarious Clara as it does not have a HP cost.
- - The 'Endure' ability and auto revive abilities are useful for avoiding defeat on the first turn. It is recommended to keep track of which members of your party still have these abilities available, as they can only be used once per battle. If a character is using multiple "auto revive" abilities, only one will activate on death (but all are used up).
- - Endure (Power Fighter ability): when above 30% hp, survive a lethal strike with 1 hp (once per battle)
- - Goddess' Protection (Apprentice Hero ability): on death, revive to 20% HP (once per battle)
- - Holy Martyr (Pope ability): on death, revives/heals self and all allies (once per battle)
- - If your agility is low, the boss will probably attack first. Since Vicarious Clara cannot be used at 1 hp, this can create issues. If you are having trouble at the start of a fight (eg. can't set up clara), try having 3 members cast clara and 1 member cast a heal (eg. hustle dance). Your party should be able to tank a hit with 'endure', so most of your team will be able to summon clara.
- - [Normal Attack] [Effect: +] The basic attack, as well as skills with "effect: +" can be augmented with different effects, such as:
- - element strikes (adding elements to your attack)
- - slayer strikes (adding race slayer elements to your attack)
- - status effect strikes (inflicting status effects with your attack)
- - [Buff Stacking] Buffs can stack if they are unique (separate icons in status bar during battle indicate different buffs). Making use of many buffs simultaneously can result in greater damage.
- - eg. 100 atk -> transform (+50% atk) + inner focused mind (+50% atk) + focused spirit (+200% atk) = 675 atk (i.e. +575%)
- - Bosses can dispel your teams buffs.
- - Stat boosts stack multiplicatively.
- - Buffs only affect base stats (i.e. before weapons and armor)
- - Since buffs only affect base stats, the stats given from equipment (other than accessories) is basically irrelevant. So when choosing equipment, it is better to focus on elemental boosters and weapon synergy for maximum damage.
- - Weapon Synergy: Many skills have bonus damage when used with the correct type of weapon (eg. Sword with Sword skills)
- - Using elements in combination with elemental boosters can lead to more damage. Keep in mind that it is better to focus on boosting one element, since the damage calculation will only take the highest cumulative boost. (note: elemental boosts stack additively)
- - Magus Fist: unarmed skills which grant fire/ice/lightning strikes and +50% boosters
- - Spellsword: spellblade skills which grant fire/ice/lightning strikes and +50% boosters
- - Vocaloid (Doll): "Daisy Bell" (song) grants +50% booster for all elements
- - Gaia Hammer grants earth strike and +50% earth booster, which will stack with dual wield
- - Gaia Robe gives +30% holy and dark booster
- - It can be quite difficult to have every element available to exploit an elemental weakness while also having maximum damage. So in general, I recommend using "effect: +" skills with slayer abilities.
- - Some setups (note: buffs only affect base stats)
- - 100 atk -> transform -> inner focused mind -> focused spirit (+ attack song) = 1012.5 atk (1 turn)
- - 100 agi -> transform -> inner focused mind -> sylph (+ quick, sky dance, encouraging dance) = 1290.9375 agi (2 turns)
- - 100 atk -> slime division -> transform + inner focused mind -> power charge + focused spirit (+ attack song) = 1620 atk (1 turn)
- - [Damage Types] All skills fall into one of the following categories/types:
- - physical type (note: this is distinct from the physical element)
- - magical type
- - certain hit / auto hit type
- - Each type is treated separately in terms of evasion, nullification and reflection (eg. magical evasion only affects magical type).
- - Dodging and reflecting attacks will help preserve deflector layers, as well as aid in general survival.
- - Carbuncle (Summoner) = +100% magic reflect to all allies (2 turns)
- - Quick (Time Magic) = +50% physical/magical evasion, +100% accuracy and +70% agility to one ally (5 turns)
- - Sky Dance (Wing Harpy) = all allies, +50% agility/physical evasion/magic evasion (3 turns)
- - Clear status effects with Saints' Recovery (Holy skill) (Paladin) or other skill (doesn't clear bind/debuff/slow/stop/incontinence)
- - Else, use races with passive status immunities
- - Dispel (White Magic) (Priest) or other skill can be used to clear bosses' buffs when necessary.
- - [Target Rate] It is possible to influence the probability of a character being targeted by an enemy's attack. This can be very useful for allowing particular characters to survive attacks. Carefully consider the target rate you set for each of your characters.
- - This will affect any skill that targets "one enemy" or "random" (note: will also affect your skills that target random allies)
- - Dancer: (ability) Appeal = user is targeted 2x as often
- - Minstrel: (ability) Hide = user is targeted 1/2x as often
- - Rainbow Nail Polish (accessory) = user is targeted 5x as often (gift from eva, saki)
- - Seal of Nothingness (accessory) = user is targeted 1/5x as often (gift from mitsuko)
- (note: can stack ability and accessory together)
- - [Mana Drain] MP draining can neutralize most bosses, preventing them from using some of their skills.
- - The bosses generally have 9999 MP
- - Inflicting silence is usually more effective (seals more skills) than mana drain, if the enemy is vulnerable.
- - The 'Mana drain strike' ability makes your basic attack drain MP (physical type, normal attack). I recommend this as the main source of MP drain, due to it's higher damage. However, this (normally) doesn't work against physical nullification/reflect.
- - Evil Mist (Ghost race) learns this ability
- - The basic attack uses different scaling depending on the equipped weapon (eg. if a spear is equipped, the damage scaling is split between attack and agility)
- - Counter attacks ignore physical reflect, which is useful for mana drain strike (slightly inconsistent: counter isn't guaranteed, can be dodged or nullified, and will never occur against certain hit attacks)
- - Other methods of mana drain exist, but are difficult to utilize (compared to mana drain strike) without having multiple actions per turn, since the damage is lower. Some examples:
- - Black Mage learns 'Madrain' (magical type, no element)
- - Dancer learns 'Strange Dance' (certain hit, no element)
- - [Easy Mode] Crisis Hairpin grants auto daystar (instead of magic evasion) when the user is low on HP.

- - Enemy HP and attributes increase based on labyrinth floor (not affected by difficulty).
- - Enemies' defense and willpower stop increasing after floor 300.
- - Many of the bosses' skills have cooldowns, some of which are noted here. (generally 3 turns)
- - Dispels usually have a 5 turn cooldown. (dispel -> xx -> xx -> xx -> xx -> dispel)
