  1. All this info is so scattered I decided just to compile it here in this paste. Basically what I will cover is what ult to use frequently, which to use more sparingly, and what support ults counter what ults. I will also cover how to disengage, which is going to be something we really need to work on. (I'll go more in depth on dps and tank ult management in the future, this was enough work fuck you)
  2.
  3. Support Ultimates
  4.
  5. Lucio and Zenny
  6. The ultimate battle here is horrible to manage. I've seen both being used at once far too frequently, or one being popped where the other should have been. Not an insult to any of us, it's not an easy thing to figure out without doing a lot of research. So hopefully this can clear up the confusion. Lucio and Zenny are inherently different ults. Zenny is more for sustained damage while Lucio is more for burst damage. HOWEVER, because there are more sustained damage ultimates than burst damage ultimates that also reach the threshold of outdamaging 300 healing a second or ones that displace, this means Lucio gets the much larger edge in offensive use of his ultimate. So I will first detail what ults to use to COUNTER an ultimate, and then tell you what ults to use to COMBO offensively.
  7.
  8. Zenny uses ult against:
  9.
  10. Configuration: Tank
  11. Dragonblade
  12. Dragonstrike (if really needed, most of the time you don't need to pop an ult on this)
  13. Death Blossom
  14. Blizzard
  15. Rocket Barrage (easier to stun the pharah though, as if 10 of her rockets hit one target a second it will kill a squishy, not easy)
  16. Tactical Visor
  17. Molten Core
  18. Gravitron Surge
  19.
  20. Lucio uses ult against:
  21.
  22. Deadeye
  23. Pulse Bomb
  24. Primal Rage (if you really have to, this is more of a displacement ult than a kill ult)
  25. Rip-Tire (easier to shoot the tire though)
  26. Self-Destruct (dps should still run and hide, as well as yourself)
  27. Supercharger (should allow the time needed to destroy the Supercharger. Only use if confident we can destroy it)
  28. Wholehog (if your targets are still within range, like if this is popped inside a building instead of out in the open)
  29.
  30.
  31. Now of course Ana is going to change things here. Such as an Ana using a nade on Grav, which would lead to us being wiped OR having to use BOTH support ults. Which should be ok because the likelihood Grav is used without another ult is low so the economy would still read as 2 for 2. Still, with Nanoboost up we need to look at what these healers can still protect against.
  32.
  33. Nanotank - Zenny does NOT outheal this in nano. 205 base damage gets raised to 308 overall damage (or 307 but whatever) and does hit the burst threshold. It's better to try to disengage this combo.
  34.
  35. Nanoblade - Zenny once again cannot outheal this nano. This is better dealt with by a stun or a more dps oriented ultimate (like Tactical Visor). We could also easily disengage this. If this is further comboed with a Lucio ult we ONLY have the option to disengage.
  36.
  37. Nanostrike - I doubt we'd see this lol. But shockingly, a Hanzo WITHOUT his ultimate that is nanoboosted DOES outdamage a Zenny ult!
  38.
  39. Nanoblosson - You will outheal his ultimate, but not by much. So be careful for any extra damage coming in here. Do not use it if this death blossom combo is used mid team fight.
  40.
  41. Nanoblizzard - Lol again, weird combo. However I suggest we test this in the ptr as the numbers are very hard to figure out.
  42.
  43. Nanobarrage - This is harder for Zenny to outheal, reducing the rockets needed to kill to only 5 a second. However, Pharah is very very vulnerable to a stun (hook, sleep, flash) so we need to focus on keeping those cooled down when we know pharah's ult is up.
  44.
  45. Nanovisor - Go for it. You WILL outheal this combo. However, be smart. A 76 with allys providing damage can still outdamage you.
  46.
  47. Nanocore - Literally no idea. Can we test this too?
  48.
  49. Nanograv - This sounds like desperation. You can actually outheal the maximum damage Zarya does (100% charge AND a grav) but if theyre going for this that Ana nade HAS to be coming in. If we can kill the Ana before she nades pop it.
  50.
  51. Nanodeadeye - McCrees damage actually goes up to ~375 a second with nano (from ~250) meaning it would take less than 2 seconds to kill any squishies. However, this could provide the time needed to save your tanks.
  52.
  53. Nanobomb - really weird combo, but Lucio should be able to allow anyone hit by this to survive.
  54.
  55. Nanotire - fuck you, this is getting ridiculous
  56.
  57. Nanocharger - Well shit what a combo. If this ever does come up I think it'd be better to disengage. I HIGHLY doubt the nano would pop on Orisa, I would think it would pop on a third person about to use their dps ult. 3 ults, too scary. RUN.
  58.
  59. Nanodestruct - Oddly, when nano is popped on a mech that THEN self-destructs it provides no boost. 1000 damage. But if it is used on baby Dva AFTER she pops the ult it WILL increase to 1500. So be careful, do not drop the beat if done in this way.
  60.
  61. Nanowholehog - Needs testing, cannot calculate this accurately.
  62.
  63. HOWEVER, Lucio does benefit the attack much more. In fact, Zennys ult should almost never be used offensively (situation depends sometimes I know I know). Lucio can combo his ultimate much like Ana's and create equally deadly effects. Lucio should combo with the following ults above all else however.
  64.
  65. Death Blossom
  66. Dragonblade
  67. Rocket Barrage
  68. Tactical Visor
  69.
  70.
  71. Ana ultimates
  72.
  73. Ana should know who her ultimate most benefits IN ULT COMBOS. Using Boost outside of an ult combo is entirely situational.
  74.
  75. Tier 1:
  76. Genji
  77. 76
  78. Reaper
  79. Roadhog
  80.
  81. Tier 2:
  82. Reinhardt
  83. Pharah
  84. McCree
  85. Tracer
  86.
  87. Tier 3:
  88. Other dps/tanks
  89.
  90. Tier 4:
  91. The fuck are you doing tier
  92.
  93. DPS Ultimates
  94. This is harder to talk about. Basically, the ults with the fastest charge AND least team-wipe ability come first. Tracer's pulse bomb comes to mind, this can be used habitually. Ults like Pharah's should come LAST. It is hard to make a guide for ult usage for a dps hero as it usually is entirely situational, or hinges on another character's ultimate. We need to communicate that we are going for our ult much better than we do (myself included) so we do not accidentally use 2 ults when we do not need to. DO NOT PANIC ULT.
  95.
  96. Tank Ultimates
  97. Again, these act a lot like dps ultimates in that I can't really write an encompassing guide here. There's no way to judge every situation. I will say that Earthshatter and Gravitron should almost always be used either when the entire team is up or when another ult can combo with the prior. Self-Destruct can be used defensively, forcing a dragonblade into hiding or pushing teams away from the point for a moment. Wholehog and Primal Rage can fill many of the same roles here, and can be used either offensively or defensively.
  98.
  99. Disengaging
  100. Remember that team that fucking rolled us by constantly comboing Nanoboost, Sound Barrier, AND Dragonblade? Well they actually were being quite exploitable, we just didn't exploit them. We did not practice disengaging yet, but it's something we really should pick up. It's ok to lose ground on payload, and it's ok to lose a tick or 2 on cps. When an enemy team combos that many ults there is one easy solution to defend against them and make their ult economy terrible, leading to a MUCH easier team wipe (1 ultimate!!!) than they could do. It's just simply running. We are currently in the fastest meta we have ever been in. When this kind of ult combo pops, have Lucio simply speedboost us out. Do NOT waste an ultimate. Just run. We may lose a person in the battle but when we regroup they will be down too much to survive the NEXT team fight. There's a lot of places we can hide, and a lot of places the characters we use like Dva, Genji, etc can get to that can isolate these crazy combos. I suggest we go more in depth on this strategy in a private game coming up.
