Alt History for 'Dreaming of Dissonant Sonder'

The Tunguska Event changed the surrounding forest in ways that would not be properly understood for centuries. It was only when Solokov Particles were properly harnessed that the true implications of of that event understood. Fragments of the meteor would become the base for magnetic generators capable of powering entire cities. More importantly once studied artificial Solokovine would become the powerhouse for a new Russia.

Well until the break out of World War 2, by war's end the USSR had bigger things on their mind and it wouldn't be until the 60s that The Solokov Particle was used to create magnetically levitating ships and EM generators. In the mean time the forest around the Tunguska river grew stranger, trees that floated overland were witnessed and gnarled woody islands that levitated along lines of magnetic power were witnessed. Electronic devices and compasses would not function in this region. Reports of strange humanoid figures wandering the backtrails of the taiga remain persistent to this day.
