  3. Subject: An unseal candidate for Divina
  4. Dr. Engel,
  5. Dr. West has completed her analyses of the Innsmouth population and based on the variables you specified we have identified three potential candidates for project Divina. Our first candidate is Rita Delapore, she comes from a long line of powerful magi and her family has strong ties to The Illuminati. In theory she is exactly what you are looking for though it should be noted much of her skill is derived from intensive study and not pure genetics. Her scores on the Rhine- Sidgwick matrix test were mediocre, though she excels academically. Though ultimately given her family connection and her test scores I think she is more trouble than she's worth.
  6. Our next candidate is Jennifer Zann, her family also has a history of producing powerful magi (though not to the extent of Delapore.) Her family is unaffiliated and only her and her father are aware of the true nature of Innsmouth academy (this could make securing the specimen much easier.) Her scores on Rhine- Sidgwick were excellent, and most of her power seems to be derived from her genetics though according to her school record she has a history of “coasting.” Thus her potential may be limited due to temperament; overall I believe she is a strong candidate for the project but not an ideal one.
  7. Our final candidate is a bit outside of parameters you specified but Dr. West insists that I bring him to your attention. Richard Pickman (a male) scored a perfect 500 on Rhine- Sidgwick, he has an IQ of 175, and a genetic analysis done last year has shown that he has no less than 200 different second age mutations. His father is a low level Illuminati agent and his mother has distant ties to the Templar. If he is reported missing one side will point to the other and not a single thing will be done (this makes my job much easier.) His gender is problematic though, all of your specimens up till now have been female but, if your team is willing to reconsider some aspects of their hypothesis Dr. West and I feel he would be the best candidate for Project Divina.

  17. Dr. Engel,
  18. Please send our thanks to Anansi for the shadow chamber data on Richard Pickman, Dr. West says it was crucial to finishing her analyses. Based on his limited social media presence, low number of friends on XBOX live and media viewing habits, Dr. West has come to the conclusion that while Richard Pickman has the potential to become an extremely powerful magus he is still an extraordinarily sensitive introvert. His medical records from Maine Medical Center indicate that as a infant he had a sensitive temperament (meaning he cried if there was so much as a change in air pressure) though he was indifferent to physical pain (this is in line with the second age mutations we detected). According to his records at Innsmouth his powers did not manifest until he was in the third grade when he was frightened by the class gerbil and as result accidentally incinerate the animal.
  19. The resulting scorn from his classmates caused him not only to withdraw socially but also started a habit of forming intense bonds with any person who showed him any level of kindness. The combination of peer aggression and second age mutations has lead to an intense fascination with violence and gore (usually manifesting itself in his art as depictions of children being attacked by various monsters.)Based on this assessment Dr. West believes that an indirect approach is best; in her report she says that Pickman avoids conflict as a defense mechanism and whenever he is stressed he isolates himself. Thus she believes that if we make his environment hostile enough we can “guide” him to the Váli institute where we can then secure him in the nursery, then R&D may do as they wish. Dr. West asks that you contact her personally if you have any questions about the analyses.

  28. Dr. Engel,
  29. Since our last correspondence, we have utilized all of the resources you have made available to maximize the amount of stress in Richard Pickmans environment. We modified his school schedule so that it is primarily composed of intensive core classes (english, mathematics, physical education, alchemy etc) and we have limited the number of electives available to him (at the moment he as a single elective class and he may choose between basic Cephalonomancy and Animation). We have also limited his access to the entire art department and made sure that all of his instructors have an authoritarian teaching style. His locker is next to one William Martin an aggressive student who has a history of targeting the meek and 90% of his PE classmates are the Innsmouth lacrosse team (another set of extremely aggressive individuals.)Dr. West has also set up a false social media presents in order to be friend Pickman.
  30. I would like to clarify at this point that she did so against my advice, as I strongly doubt that a woman with Dr. West’s…extensive life experience will be able to relate to Pickman in a believable manner. We also arrange for periodic internet outages throughout the year and the first commercial for the Váli institute will be seen by his parents approximately 3 months into the school year followed by a brochure in the mail. If all goes as planned we should have Pickman secured by December of 2011.

  39. Dr. Engel,
  40. We have encountered a slight problem, Pickman has responded in an unexpected manner to the increased hostility of his environment. Rather than seeking to escape his environment as we initially predicted, he has instead simply began to skip school. Every morning he leaves for Innsmouth academy and instead goes to big foot cove where he spends the day painting landscapes and various other unsettling subjects (it should be noted that the subject matter of his art is becoming increasingly violent). Correspondence with Dr. West’s online persona indicate that he has strong desire to flee the school (and Solomon Island) though he is uncertain were he would go.
  41. The unexpected kindness of a new student may also be causing him to hesitate, last week after a group of students destroyed his lunch, a girl currently only known as Carter offered him half of a sandwich. Right now we believe these new variables may prolong the operation by as much as 4 months assuming you still want this done quietly. If you need Pickman at the nursery as soon as possible, then I would recommend that we dispatch a team to big foot cove to secure him and then evacuate him to the Boston lab through the Blue Mountain base. From there we can sedate him and relocate him to the nursery. It’s something worth considering Lilly.

  49. Subject: Pressuring Mr. and Mrs. Pickman
  50. Dr. Engel,
  51. We have succeeded in making Pickman's environment increasingly hostile and as a result he has been missing more and more school though we have yet to drive him from Innsmouth. Part of the reason for this seems to be an unwillingness to leave his parents who have been a source of support throughout this “difficult year” as Helen Pickman put it. This is the last pillar of support we need to remove before we can get him to the Váli institute; we have increased the frequency of advertisements for the Váli institute targeted at the Pickman residence though it seems to have had little effect on the situation. We have contacted the school psychologist at Innsmouth and “convinced” her that the Váli institute is a better place for Ricky then Innsmouth.
  52. She will be speaking with Mr. and Mrs. Pickman about a transfer this evening, hopefully this is the last push before we secure the specimen. Dr. West has also asked me to relay her concerns regarding Pickmans stability, she says the subject matter of his art is becoming increasingly morbid (and for him that is really saying something). He seems to have developed a grizzly fascination with open sours and broken teeth; Dr. West believes this is a symptom of his prolonged exposure to a hostile environment. I do not for see this becoming a problem though as we are all most ready to secure the specimen.

  61. Dr. Engel,
  62. The school psychologist we discussed in our previous correspondence seems to have been particularly persuasive. Mr. and Mrs. Pickman submitted an online application within 3 hours of their meeting. An incident in Pickmans physical education course in which he was deprived of his shorts and underwear during a coed class in combination with a phone conversation with his mother about the upcoming transfer to Váli seems to have pushed him over the edge. Our informant has told us Pickman was last seen fleeing Innsmouth campus. We have located him at big foot cove and dispatched a team to secure him for transport to Boston. We will have the specimen within the hour.

  67. PS: Video of aforementioned PE course is available upon request. Though the students in the video showed questionable judgment in depriving Pickman of his clothing, the incident as a whole is quite humorous.

  72. All active field agents on Solomon Island,
  73. We have a code 1 situation unfolding; experimental material that recently arrived from the nursery for field testing has escaped its holding cell. The subject has killed a total of four heavily armed security agents and has stolen valuable research documents in addition to a dozen Anti-personnel mines. Be advised the subject possesses class 1 telekinetic abilities in addition to superior strength and stamina. The subject was severely injured while fleeing the Blue Mountain compound and is believed to be headed south. Pay special attention to Big Foot cove and the forest surrounding Innsmouth academy.
