2. Welcome to our terminology page! No joke, you'll probably be referencing this page the most as this page covers most names, terms and C'ërod words of Tam'nýer-a''s vast lore. Think of this as an index page in the back of a book. Please note that this page is a major WIP. Only categories with a ✔ are complete.
3.
4. You can find even more information on this C'eröd page.
5.
6. Now, onto those terms!

14.
Khah'Xia - Title used strictly for the current ruler of the Sky-Coral Sea
15.
When spoken Khah'Xia is Khah'Xia, that’s it as the Khah'Xia surrenders their individualistic name once appointed.
16.
17.
Starosta – Title used for the Heads of the 12 Greater Families of Püertagœ
18.
To denote the differences between the other Starostas, Starosta should always be followed by their Family name. e.g., Starosta Cámünda
19.
20.
Agridar – Solely used for retired Heads of the Family of Püertagœ
21.
The same as Starosta. e.g., Agridar Zûtran
22.
23. For all of these below, please remember to add surnames after the title. Calling someone solely ‘mister’ or ‘miss’ is actually quite rude if you know their name. It comes off rather condescending. If, however, you are making their acquaintance for the first time, it is much more acceptable, but of course, this is subjective.
24.
25.
Taityl – Title for an unmarried woman. Think ‘Miss’
26.
Tolla – Title for a married woman. Think 'Mrs.'

52.
53. Brin'ry):
54. A rather light exclamation of dissatisfaction or disbelief. Think of it as an exasperated 'oh my god' without the religious connotation.
55.
56. Tilaut:
57. An acceptable swear word in all manners of society except for when attending formal affairs. Tilaut translates to something between our 'damn' and a stern 'shit'. An exclamation of frustration to help relieve the stress of a situation.
58.
59. Vakás:
60. Vakás is a bit harsher than the aforementioned Tilaut in the way that it is always uttered when one is done with a situation and either on the precipice of being livid or has crossed that line already. It is a curt and rather rude way of saying 'enough!', almost like our 'shut the fuck up'.
61.
62. Hadrat:
63. Hadrat is curt and cutting. You want to stop a room? Shout "Hadrat!". The closest one can explain it is like our earthly 'fuck!' but it does not conjure up the same feeling of profanity. In fact, "Hadrat" is probably the black tie version of 'fuck'. It is acceptable anywhere, except for perhaps in the company of the Khah'Xia on a diplomatic visit. But it is an exclamation of much displeasure, frustration, and anger. It can also be uttered when disciplining insubordination from a superior.

70.
71.
"That's rich like a Trótskarrien sands!"
72.
"A Sk'älik's ass!" akin to 'my ass!' an expression of disbelief.
73.
"About as useless as a monsoon in ZàÞça." because no matter what, it'll always be a desert.
74.
"In the eye Ilăș, of course you would!" is uttered usually in an argument, playing upon the negative aspect of manipulation, and points out someone who has done a wrong and finds it perfectly all right.
75.
"Going through my tapestry" can mean 2 distinct things; 1. Racking my brain or 2. Thinking of the past. The only thing that differentiates the two is the setting as well as the tone of voice.
76.
"Nýer—a''s Light to you" is regarded as formal parting words.
77.
"Without scrutiny” is a farewell saying that originated from the metropolis of Püertagœ meaning “I pray you are given the benefit of the doubt and the freedom to be without scrutiny”. Its popularity is spreading however thanks to the locals in their travels. It is catching on primarily in Fawzia-Kedet. Of course, this farewell is not considered formal.
81.
82.
83.
The Ãoni are a bird-like species with navy blue to grey and black plumage. They tend to be reclusive, and Ãoni can only leave their colony without being able to return. This is thanks to their fanaticism about their goddess: Ŧ'ţ'ra-'kii (although to the rest of the world she is known as the Goddess of Spring). Despite being a matriarchal religious society, the Ãoni are renowned for being the best midwives and physicians.
84.
85.
Humans are, of course, as we are, except with some bonuses such as baldness not really being a thing, and hypermobility in the wrists. They also have pointed ears and develop protective callouses rather easily. The Humans are most known for their mechanical engineering; making clocks, stained glass and crafting automata. Though it should be said that they are amongst the most superstitious of the races.
86.
87.
The Khah' are a race known for their beauty, grace, and love of nature. They are best described as half-fox and half-human. Coming from the jungle continent of Uwhang, the Khah' are actually the most populous of all the races, and co-exist with every race whenever or wherever possible in order to share their talents and their compassion. They are known for their talismans (enchantment magic), shipbuilding, brothels and animal care.
88.
89.
Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa are a dash of feline and human mixed together. They come from the mountains, and live off of trading and bartering. Though they are the only race to not really care about the Gods in any way, they have an ability to form alliances as they are simple folk in regards to not requiring much in order to be satisfied. However, do not mistake the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa for being thickheaded. They are masters of beasts of burden, architectural craft and engineering.
90.
91.
The Ṅkhya'jra might be reclusive, as are the Ãoni, but there fight in their blood. Out of all the sentient races to grace Tam'nýer—a', none believe more than the Ṅkhya'jra. As a race, horned & tall, they strive collectively to bring the Gods back to life and restore the world to what it once was with magic thriving. They will stop at nothing to reach their goal, and don't care how many races they have to wipe out in order to do so. The Ṅkhya'jra are also known to be the most proficient race at blood magic.
92.
93.
The Sk'älik as masters of the ocean. They live in varying depths of the sea, and though they are not known for their beauty, are vital to the economy of Tam'nýer—a' as they are the gateway to all the riches the ocean has to offer. If you need rare corals turned to medicine, you will have to consult with one. They also are the dealers of illegal goods, such as highly coveted liqueurs, and actually make the currency that the land dwelling use. The Sk'älik themselves might prefer food, drink or a good story in exchange. The Sk'älik are also known to practice sacrificial magics that most of the world turns its nose up at.
94.
95.
The Giyu are a race on the verge of extinction that have been scattered to the wind by the recent war with the Sk'älik. Half octopus, and the tallest race by far, they are rare and powerful. Their body strength is naturally high, and they have a way with taming oceanic animals. Despite being dispersed, and beaten, they are prideful people who stick to the ocean and have the ability to remain on land for a couple hours at a time, giving them some sort of advantage.
96.
97.
The Zdjętzami are probably the most foreign or 'alien' race out of all the ones that occupy Tam'nýer—a'. Resembling moths primarily, the Zdjętzami are separated from all the rest of the world, not out of want or necessity, but simply because their continent is the entire world to them. They follow their own god, Bezăv, who is of shadow, and prepare most of their life to continue their journey into the afterlife, where Bezăv ultimately leads through multiple lives.

103.
104.
105.
Püertagœ is a city built upon a vast cistern system that is fed directly by the ocean. Life on land and sea is merged here in a harmony encased in stunning architecture, housing all races. This is a land of diversity, superstitious social standards, thriving capitalism, and invention. Though, if you are a Ṅkhya'jra, know that you are the only race that will face hesitation, and some manner of scrutiny, as the whole of Tam'nýer—a' only knows whispers of your kind, and memories of fire.
106.
107. That aside, Püertagœ will make or break you with its beliefs, social construct, and superstitions. However, you could always keep your head low being a simple merchant. Being the center stage of a world has a lot of pressure, and the population here is ever an influx, despite the superstitious territory being off-putting to some. It is also where the greatest school of magics is located, as well as mechanical engineering.
108.
109. It is run by a Senate, of both men and women consisting of the Heads of the 12 Greater Families. The 12 Greater Families are an elite group of families that are said to have originally formed Püertagœ centuries ago. The whole of Püertagœ is a circular walled city, consisting of 12 rings in total, further symbolizing the 12 Greater Families.
110.
111.
Fawzia-Kedet is a beautiful place snug between the northern Becal Curtain; a stand-alone kingdom, known simply as Fawzia to the locals. It is a bohemian retreat known for its relaxed lifestyle and journey for intellectualism. Tam'nýer—a''s philosophers are known to gather here, tossing theories back and forth into the wee hours of the morning imbibing in rooms filled with hanging clouds of smoke.
112.
113. Fawzia-Kedet also boasts the largest library in all the lands, Laðărul, and is one of the most stunning landscapes to watch the sunset. Not only does the kingdom have this, it is known to be the only kingdom to be completely built through a commission by the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa. By who you ask? Well, that's just the thing. Fawzia-Kedet as we know it now is a Human run kingdom, but it was actually requested by the Ṅkhya'jra, and taken through war in a collaborative effort of Püertagœ and Uwhang.
114.
115.
Federation of the Sky-Coral Sea / Uwhang is the Khah' homeland and is recognized as the sole lasting jungle continent. Insects, deadly flowers, fox-like creatures, everything lives in Uwhang and thrives as well. It is as if it is an entirely different planet.
116.
117. Though the entire nation is referred to as Uwhang by the majority of Tam'nýer—a', including most Khah', Uwhang is actually the name of the capital city solely. Its official name is "The Federation of the Sky-Coral Sea". In fact, it's probably only referred to as its proper name when in governmental meetings, or diplomatic visits.
118.
119. In the depths of Uwhang, everything whilst being wet seems a stark contrast to the bright, water-bound land masses. Uwhang on the jungle floor is nothing but dense vegetation and pathways that need to constantly be up-kept and cut away so that the jungle does not take it back. Sunlight is very limited throughout Uwhang because the canopy above, some estimated handful of hundreds of feet, is quite dense as well. The variety of trees is immense, yet everything seems to co-exist quite well here, this is attributed to the compassion that the Khah' are known for.
120.
121.
B'hărăbû is a hodgepodge citadel engulfing an entire island next to both Püertagœ and Vit'saarèn, and cupped by Trótskarr. However, you wouldn't go to B'hărăbû unless you had some not-so above board dealings, or if you're a pirate, you might call it home. B'hărăbû is the heart of the black market and illegal trade, most especially when it concerns slavery. There are always ships in port and willing souls to cart you away if you need an escape, but their prices might be high, or you might be worth more dead, so traveling and trading here is not for the faint of heart.
122.
123.
The Mountains of T-'a'Ţăs'múr are home to the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa, these mountainous peaks are treacherous to even the most skilled of climbers aside from the beasts that dwell here. The settlements of the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa are stacked and built into these high elevations that seem impossible to reach. The homes, and buildings are not the most intricately built, neither are they made with any preset designs or beauty in mind, but instead hold their value in their structural integrity.
124.
125. The living spaces for all the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa have been carved deeply into the mountains and with their elevation and positioning inside the cliffs, they have created a rope and pulley system to send and receive supplies to one another, just as well there are some strong enough to carry the people across with great ease. There is no machine power to these systems, but instead, they are all powered by the labor of the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa themselves. The higher peaks, above the settlement housing, have been specially kept crops consisting of K'wãt that the Z'sa'Ză-'Bäa use in their trades.
126.
127.
ZàÞça; The Glittering Inlet of Trótskarr is located in a small inlet of the continent of Trótskarr, south of Vit'saarèn. ZàÞça is the old center of trade now turned tourist paradise.
128.
129. The architecture of ZàÞça is a testament to how prosperous it was during it's trading era before the rise and eventual transfer of power to Püertagœ. With the main city center seemingly carved out of the mountains, now eroded to be the backdrop of the port town, ZàÞça is a beautiful getaway destination from the millions that inhabit other main cities. ZàÞça has an ebb and flow populace meaning that during high tourist season the population is more than sextupled. The native inhabitants make a mere population of 744,000 during low season and have enough housing to host six million people for the tourist trade. Almost all native citizens work in the tourism industry due to this.
130.
131. ZàÞça boasts of clear, iridescent waters, stunning architecture, waterfalls, and arid landscapes. It is also where high ranking families are known to send their daughters to bear their children, as stress can be fatal to expecting mothers. Because of this ZàÞça has to the most well-funded midwife association that consists mainly of Ãoni. Ãoni, in fact, makes up for 10% of the native population.
132.
133.
The Ãoni Coastal Region varying in heights, stupendous rock cliffs gleaming a distinct champagne coloration are the Ãoni Coastal Region. At their feet lay the plentiful oceans of Tam'nýer—a'. The true treasure of the Ãoni's coastal homes are however what is hidden to the naked eye; a vast tunnel system carved into the rock & clay connecting the individual nests. The higher ranking Ãoni however, are indeed visible, as they tend to reside in the dryer cousins of the Muntade trees that grow solely out of the cliff-sides.
134.
135.
The Sk'ïenaik Empire consisting primarily of Insulars are Sk'älik towns/trading posts of a varying depth of 20-50 feet under the surface of the ocean. This is obviously more than a dip your toe in the water, but to the Sk'älik this is extremely shallow for them and shows a great willingness to be a part of the surface-dwelling races.
136.
137. The Insulars are an engineering marvel which are almost always overlooked and simply used as they are; a trading post. Each insular is tethered to the bottom of the ocean by the same materials as the Becal Curtain. Loosely braided ropes of the formidable plants permit swaying to match the ocean currents and therefore lessens the risk of breaking due to tension.
138.
139. All Insulars are made of either platforms of dead coral-like plants, or large fossilized creatures, like jellyfish, hundreds of meters wide. What makes them even more of a marvel is that they are surrounded by pressure bubbles, letting one walk on the Insular as they would on the surface. These are the same pressure bubbles used for making Krék'h Vñîn, or Înkʌ-'r. A type of Sk'älik technology that only they have the knowledge of, and guard. Despite the Insulars being a handful in number and scattered all over the oceans of Tam'nýer—a', the Sk'älik Insulars are individually run by an Overseer who keep things in line in the name of Sk'ïenaik Empire, the Sk'älik homeland.
140.
141.
ॠधऊञई · Rīdhaūñaī is the homeland of The Ṅkhya'jran Peoples. They are an ancient peoples, believed to be the first race of Tam'nýer—a' and yet extremely reclusive due to the rise of the other races. With their ancient cities, their territory is spread out. The landscape is primarily mountain and flowering forests.
142.
143. A heavy trek for those unfamiliar with the terrain. The air, the closer you get to Rīdhaūñaī, seems thinner but fresher. An odd combination, but one that makes you believe that you are dreaming; everything seems beautiful, aesthetically pleasing. Some have sworn that they can hear a humming or lilting voices as if the land was speaking harmoniously. For this reason, it is truly a shame that the Ṅkhya'jra are severely racist, as Rīdhaūñaī would most certainly be a place of pilgrimage for this reason alone.

153.
Chanting Magic - What it sounds like. However, this magic is Ãoni specific. This is mainly used for creating a sort of force field around their colonies to protect themselves against foreign intruders.
154.
Enchantment Magic - Enchantment means to imbue an item with a sort of spell or power. This is usually used for creating Talismans; pretty trinkets enchanted with good luck as a good luck charm. However, one can enchant an item to hold energy to use at a later date as well.
155.
Focus Stones - Focus Stones are a tool for Enchantment magic, and pertain solely to storing energy and drawing energy.
156.
Tattoos of Sigils - In the instance of the Ṅkhya'jra, tattooing is to depict to their peers which deity is the one they worship above all the others. By doing this, the individual will attain a certain prowess for whatever that God or Goddess symbolizes, e.g., a Ṅkhya'jra whose primary deity is VüƑ is a devout believer in Time, and that everything that happens is preordained. A follower of VüƑ, with his sigil, may be imbued with a profound amount of patience, or the ability to be calm in a moment of mob panic because 'everything is written'.
157.
Blood Magic - Using bits of dead or living individuals, as well as creatures, sometimes paired with the diverse flora on Tam'nýer—a' is a strong and binding magic, referred to as Blood Magic. When practiced in non-Ṅkhya'jra society, a drop or vial of blood from a love rival can make the difference in you superseding them and bringing them into ruin. Blood Magic is considered a dark magic because of this, and is therefore taboo, but if power, destruction, and control is alluring to you, you may be called towards Blood Magic.
158.
Sacrificial Magic - Sacrificial magic is considered a type of Blood magic and is the main magic of the Sk'älik peoples. Giving up things in exchange for power or an effect. In order to perform a proper sacrifice for the benefit of magic blessing or enhancement of sorts, you must offer up something that is of great personal value, e.g., food, as mentioned above, or an ability you possess.
159.
Scorch Marks - Scorch Marks are writing imbued with magic and depicted like sigils. Scorch Marks for the most part are used to protect houses, belongings of personal value, be they sentimental or otherwise, and hexes.
160.
Healing Magic - Healing magic, despite it's sanctified trope, can actually be quite dangerous. On battlefields, many healers have died by wanting to aid the injured and sick to a point that they themselves were not careful in watching their energy reserves. The want and need to heal can become an obsession putting a healer at risk.
161.
Trail Markers - These nodes are 'strewn' around all of Tam'nýer—a', including the ocean. However those that are underneath the surface of the water are most likely there thanks to earthquakes, volcanic activity, erosion and other things of that nature. The unfortunate thing is that information and the ability to use the nodes was lost as they all went dormant the moment the Gods perished. Consequently, as their usefulness faded away, so too did the knowledge of them, despite housing such untapped and unadulterated potential, as well as power. Now in modern times, they are merely regarded as ancient trail markers and carry little to no importance. However, some of them now are beginning to flicker with light, coming alive once more.

170.
Öðin - Püertagœn clothing for men; a type of robe akin to the Hanfu
171.
Jasptí - Fawzian unisex clothing; an overcoat that is embroidered with varying designs and can be made from light or heavier fabrics.
172.
णऋए॔ · Ṇarié - Nkhya'jran clothing for women; akin to Sari's.
173.
वशङ · Vaśagna - NKhya'jran headdresses for women; made of multiple intricate pieces to make one whole headdress. They denote a woman's accomplishments in their society.
174.
ॡथै · Līthà - Nkhya'jran clothing for men; a long coat of breathable cotton and flared sleeves. They usually come embroidered, and or dyed, since this is the main affair of their dress.

247.
Cza'tîm & Şœvu - Equinoxes & Solstices are both celebrated heavily. Equinoxes are celebrated either in a private setting of being indoors in the home or by joining in a candlelit vigil held in the middle of town squares. This silent celebration is in recognition of Nýer—a' and Q'Tam'šmă separated for longer (nighttime hours), and the reasoning for the candlelit vigil is to symbolize being a light, thus a bridge between the two, and thereby offering compassion and support in respectful silence.
248.
249. The Solstices, referred to as Şœvu, are celebrated in this way too, but is also surmised by the people that this occurs due to Nýer—a' and Q'Tam'šmă mourning the anniversary of their sons' death.
250.
251. It is normal to gift someone various herbs and Õnntas, Tam'nýer—a''s version of coal, during these celebrations.
252.
Star Dancer; Rhein'il - Rhein'il is a comet that is celebrated around Tam'nýer-a'. For it's various ways of being celebrated please refer to the Holiday page.
253.
ẞäffe'ţ Potluck - Whatever big dream you've found yourself putting off for “since the Gods know when”, you write it on a piece of parchment of vellum (vellum preferably in case it rains). Once you've done that, you take to walking the streets and pick a tree, hanging your dream on the highest branch you can reach. This action symbolizes how your dream literally hangs above your head and in front of your face. However, the celebration doesn't stop there. There's a rather lovely twist to this particular holiday and it's the fact that people can go out to a decked out tree and 'take' a wish they believe they can achieve. If you 'take' a dream, it is a silent promise to set out to do it, and you can leave updates about the dream you took on the back of the vellum. This ultimately creates a charming notion of 'wishing penpals'.
254.
VüƑ & Sùrelï's Courtship - The celebration is quite simple in the way that all that is required is a group and some sand. Carefully, the first person, usually the oldest, takes a container of sand and begins to pour it slowly on a designated patch of floor, telling a story as the sand falls.
255.
256. Once the first person's story is finished, more come up, usually in a age descending order, and this continues until the entire patch is filled with sand. Once all the sand has been poured, and if there are still people left within the group to share a tale, it then transitions from pouring multi-coloured sands to taking a stick, and begin to trace out patterns and designs in the sand. The designs of sand can vary from being extremely intricate to child-like. It all depends upon the collaboration of people.
257.
T'yādß - T'yādß is a special celebration amongst the Khah' residing in the Sky-Coral Sea (Uwhang). Specifically calculated to be on the last day of the Super Summer, hundreds of thousands of Khah' take to the trees on the edges on their beloved continent, most especially at their ports, and fill the trees with thousands of paper lanterns. The lanterns vary in colour, size and shape, and it is a tradition to guide their people home as Tam'nýer—a' experiences its first true nightfall of the year. The preparations start a day before to assemble all the lanterns, and as the official day commences, it is when they take to the trees in droves to string the lanterns within the canopy, as high as they can manage.
258.
Bûsta-gr'tîš'sk - Twice annually, the metropolis of Püertagœ does something absolutely incredible to celebrate breaking down walls, racism, and spreading love. While this is regarded as a holiday, and the closest Tam'nýer—a' gets to a Valentine's Day, Bûsta-gr'tîš'sk literally translates to Star-Crossed Day. Ultimately, Bûsta-gr'tîš'sk is a mass wedding and food and drink are provided by the wealthy, as the city transforms overnight into celebratory colours and flowers galore.
259.
Q'Tam'šmă Fruila - Since Q'Tam'šmă is the patron deity of Püertagœ, a yearly festival is organized in her honour during the last 5 days of Spring before Super Summer begins. All activity, including work, (unless required by the Senate), in Püertagœ stops so that all citizens may enjoy the festivities. During these 5 days of celebration, (5 days to signify the members of the Divine Family), in the name of the Mother Goddess there are theatre plays, music, public dancing as well as professional performance, sporting and fighting events. Some years, the Senate and Navy even plan a mock warship battle.
