- How I, as nobody but a man who is influenced by this war day in day out via the news, would approach Israel and Palestine conflict.
- To have a successful discussion I believe you need a few things in place.
- 1. you need a good and fair end goal
- Both Palestinians and Israelies need a home land, eventually (hopefully, if the world so chooses) borders will not be so important, such as proven in the EU. But as a transition period this should be the end goal of discussions. So having set an end goal let the discussion flow , but the people involved (not just the leaders as they seem to have lost sight of how they should represent their people)
- 2. clear respectful discussion on how to attain that goal by all involved
- A clear respectful discussion needs to allow democratic questions to be asked and democratic answers to be given UNINTERRUPTED (please view comment v0.1 on how manipulation works in my opinion, this applies not only to words spoken but to any interruption when someone is giving their view...see Australian government talks for how NOT to have a discussion).
- Further, questions asked need to be made clear enough to be understood WHY they have been asked by all involved in the discussion. See point 4 for how this may be achieved.
- Answers must also be true to the overall goal and not be influenced by personal wants or needs that are not associated with the agreed upon goal. This will taint the answer. Again view point 4 for how this might be achieved.
- 3. a mediator separated from the effects of the past, maybe a child or woman, as most these conflicts were started by men
- A mediator is needed because the discussions will be held by humans, and we are all flawed, and we will break the above rules, see Australian government house speaker for how NOT to mediate a discussion.
- Why no effects of the past... because they hurt. The past is not the current and should not determine the future. The pain is good for those that are involved in the discussion as this seems to get the truth out of people, but the mediator needs to hold strong and uphold points 1 & 2.
- 4. A good voting system, by an #external_party where everything's vote is counted for in terms of asking questions and scrutinizing answers. Everything as in everything affected by the discussion.
- no other opinion about this point as yet
