[Scene: Ark corridor, dimly lit. Amy spots Shadow in the distance.]

Amy: (soft gasp, composed tone)
"Oh... Shadow. I thought I was alone here."
(walks forward slowly, hands clasped—not whining, just reserved)
"I’ve been doing some thinking. About what all of this means."

[Shadow is staring at a control terminal. Doesn’t turn.]

Shadow:
"It’s proceeding. Just as Gerald intended. The truth’s already set in motion. I don’t see what I can change now."

Amy: (no shouting, just gentle but emotionally layered)
"You’re not alone in feeling like the world is broken. I’ve seen it too. People hurting. Dividing. But we don’t have to accept that as final. Maybe... maybe we can rewrite the future. Together."

[Shadow’s eyes narrow.]

Shadow:
"Optimism is a comfort. Not a solution. I exist because someone believed the world wasn’t worth saving."

Amy: (steps closer, voice more determined, motherly almost)
"But we’ve all had moments where we lost hope. I know I did. I used to think I had to chase others to matter… but I’ve found my own purpose. I want to protect others—not because I need to, but because it’s right."

Shadow: (still not looking at her)
"Even if they’re the same ones who would turn on each other? The same ones who betrayed Gerald? Who feared Maria?"

Amy: (tearing up slightly, but restrained)
"People are flawed... but capable of more. Of healing. Belle told me that even machines can find their heart if they’re given a chance. You gave me a reason to believe that’s true."

[Long pause. Shadow finally turns.]

Shadow:
"...There’s no mathematical outcome where hope guarantees survival."

Amy: (smiles warmly)
"It’s not about outcomes. It’s about trying. About giving them a future where they can learn from their mistakes. If we shut that down... we’re no better than those who gave up first."

[Another pause. Shadow closes his eyes, contemplative.]

Shadow:
"...Then maybe... for Maria... I’ll try one more time."
