*This proverb means underestimating someone. When you look at someone through the crack of a door, you will not see him entirely and will only see one side of him. Hence, it is taken as underestimating/looking down on someone, although Yanxuan uses this proverb literally.

"Since young miss has arrived, why hide outside?" Li You raised his eyebrows and laughed. His bright gaze which was full of charm focused on her.

"I came back to retrieve something." With a poised look, she pushed open the door and walked in. Looking at the table filled with exquisite and brilliant food, she compelled herself to stop drooling.

"Oh?" Li You's right hand held a cup, a corner of his lips tugging up. "Young miss's courage really isn't small, you dared to come back by yourself."

Without any trace of politeness, Yanxuan sat down. "There are people all inside the rooms beside us, you don't dare to do anything."

"If I really do something, do you reckon whether I will give you the chance to open your mouth and shout for help?" Li You laughed gently at her, but his words were like poison, stabbing like needles towards Yanxuan.

Yanxuan's heart trembled, but her expression remained calm and indifferent. "Even if you take action, if something happens to me in this room, you will be unable to evade consequences."

Li You didn't say any more, instead tasting a cup of wine. His left hand tapped on the violet wooden table, creating a pleasant sound.
