discord/skype thing

i wish discord had:
- proper quotes for messages
- an easier way to find mentions (you usually have to scroll up and find where you were mentioned)
- CTRL + F function
- much more customization (not so much an issue with betterdiscord tho [a plugin for discord that adds a million things such as twitch tv/bttv/ffz emotes and CSS theming)
- better notifications (for skype it just flashes in the taskbar and you are able to mute sounds, discord displays a thing at the bottom right and it's just awful and there's way too much variation between each server if you don't remember your settings)
- a way to prevent displaying previews for websites (maybe this is just me, i like the previews for images a lot, but for websites it feels unnecessary cause it will show a super long wall of text for someone who doesn't set there title on their twitch stream)
- way more room for messages (right now i have discord open and only see 11 messages and it's nearly 1024x768)
- better private messaging layout, no idea why you have to click a button at the top left to access them when they should be able to mix in with the servers just like the recent tab on skype

that said, i still like discord more, but it really could use an interface like old skype (which is probably possible with betterdiscord though cause of the custom CSS stuff)

i also don't like the idea of channels, but i know that definitely varies from person to person and i can see why they're handy (chatting with people in the voice chat when you don't have a mic and you don't want to flood #general with nonsense)

and another thing that skype has is where you can go offline and it'll remember the last message you saw and it starts the scroll bar there and you have to scroll down to the latest messages, this isn't a thing for discord and it's a pain because whenever i wake up and want to go check out the server i have to scroll up and try to remember where i left off previously (this is even more annoying because of the lack of message room)

discord just makes everyone way more inactive in chatting too
i have no idea why that it is, but i'm in exilelord's gh server and his skype group was super active, i was waking up to like 700 messages a day, and now there's like 2 messages posted every few days in his server
