- Melon - Today at 9:13 PM
- Junction broke me in the first engagement
- Because I went to look at his armour as my character could see it with his shenanigan eyes
- And he didn't even mention what it was made of
- So I was like 'hey ho shit armour gunna explode you'
- Suddenly he's saying its tungsten, and he only mentions that in a completely different section
- Feels bad man
- If I'd known I'd have just used a bodkin
- and ended this already
- Decoy - Today at 9:15 PM
- True
- Melon - Today at 9:15 PM
- I can't really fault him because I did the same thing with demon acid
- But w/e
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:17 PM
- Yep. You are still a good distance away though so no real loss. Just lock and reload.
- Mobius - Today at 9:19 PM
- If I'd known I'd have just used a bodkin
- and ended this already
- huh metagame?
- hello metagame?
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:19 PM
- lol
- Melon - Today at 9:22 PM
- Magic eyes?
- I'd have been able to see if he was wearing thick af armour
- Hence why I went to look at what armour he was wearing
- Kiyomi - Today at 9:22 PM
- Magic eyes that run on magic acid
- Melon - Today at 9:22 PM
- to decide if I should use an -armour piercing- arrow
- Kiyomi - Today at 9:22 PM
- But yeah just shoot Moar Arrows melon
- If you can beat a house cat you can beat anything
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:23 PM
- It's more or less the type of arrow you would have used.(edited)
- Melon - Today at 9:23 PM
- That's what I tell myself
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:23 PM
- You were aware that he wore armor, but you specified the bodkin.
- Melon - Today at 9:24 PM
- I used a shatterhead because my character didn't see any substantial armour
- So it's a surer bet
- But unfortunately I should have seen pretty substantial armour
- as he is apparently wearing a tungsten suit
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:25 PM
- Well, Junction specified he's wearing large armor.
- Melon - Today at 9:25 PM
- ' Ironically in his adventures on Academy Island before his accident, Retaliation discovered that the best way to make really hot flames was to cool yourself as much as possible. To this end he designed, tested, and constructed a personalized suit of combat armor designed to keep his body as cool as possible. The Cryogenic Combat Suit serves a vital function for Retaliation's powers as without it he would simply keep heating up until his body was enveloped in a super heated plasma cloud he could only barely control.'
- That's the armour description
- Nothing in that really told me he was wearing heavy armour
- It told me he was wearing a personalised combat suit designed to keep him cool
- But he did state it was made of tungsten, just in a different section
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:26 PM
- You shouldn't be doing that in the first place. You are aware of that, yeah?
- Melon - Today at 9:26 PM
- Which would have totally changed how I, and my character, saw what he was wearing
- Doing what?
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:26 PM
- Studying a character sheet and basing your attacks on it before even meeting said character.
- Melon - Today at 9:27 PM
- I had met the character
- I looked at the sheet to see what he was wearing because my character could see him
- Mobius - Today at 9:27 PM
- Melon - Today at 9:13 PM

- It's this line of deduction
- is why I said metagame
- not the power you would have used
- Melon - Today at 9:28 PM
- It's funny
- Because I said ages ago that my character's eyes are a form of legalised metagaming
- and you all disagreed
- Mobius - Today at 9:28 PM
- yeah and you wrote it worst then
- Melon - Today at 9:28 PM
- This is how being able to see with telescopic clarity is a powerful ability
- Mobius - Today at 9:28 PM
- No
- You described it as something different
- Melon - Today at 9:28 PM
- You can see exactly what someone is wearing and plan your attack accordingly
- Or at least you can when you read it properly
- Mobius - Today at 9:28 PM
- I recall this from Lest arguing with you
- So unless you want me to dig real deep in the backlogs
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:29 PM
- You are basing the arrow you would have used on that. It's also a specific type of arrow. And we don't do legalized metagaming here so.
- Melon - Today at 9:29 PM
- What?
- Mobius - Today at 9:30 PM
- man gonna take awhile
- Melon - Today at 9:30 PM
- I think the decision to use an armour piercing arrow probably would be based off if my opponent is wearing hard af armour
- Mobius - Today at 9:30 PM
- yeah but none of that was mentioned during that reasoning nor did you do that
- You just told us
- "had his armor section said the metal type"(edited)
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:30 PM
- You are basing the arrow you would have used on information you wouldn't have had.
- Mobius - Today at 9:30 PM
- like come on guy
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:31 PM
- We don't allow you to metagame here.
- Melon - Today at 9:31 PM
- I meant more in regards to just stating if his armour was of military level
- Though I suspect you could realistically discern the nature of a type of armour by eyesight alone
- Provided you had telescopic vision
- Mobius - Today at 9:31 PM
- I recall the vision seeing into the soul of the enemy
- Melon - Today at 9:31 PM
- Not anymore
- Mobius - Today at 9:31 PM
- yeah
- Melon - Today at 9:31 PM
- But it can see through cover
- So presumably I can discern the thickness of the armour
- Mobius - Today at 9:31 PM
- How?
- Melon - Today at 9:32 PM
- Looking at it
- Mobius - Today at 9:32 PM
- rofl
- Melon - Today at 9:32 PM
- With magic eyes, I imagine
- Or rather, judging body proportions
- Mobius - Today at 9:32 PM
- what if it was just really thick plastic?
- Melon - Today at 9:32 PM
- I can see my opponent's entire body, and can estimate the thickness of their armour based off those biological cues
- Mobius - Today at 9:32 PM
- how would you know?
- Melon - Today at 9:32 PM
- My character probably hasn't encountered someone wearing thick plastic
- Mobius - Today at 9:32 PM
- Lol
- Melon - Today at 9:32 PM
- So he'd have assumed it was armour and used an armour piercing arrow anyway
- Mobius - Today at 9:32 PM
- your character was from a whole different era compared to everyone rofl
- Melon - Today at 9:33 PM
- Yes, but he is familiar with modern equipment
- r-o-c-k-t-r-o-n-i-c - Today at 9:33 PM
-
- Melon - Today at 9:33 PM
- He's been alive for a long time
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:33 PM
- You are reaching, Melon. You don't mention being able to tell the differences between types of armor in your sheet.
- Melon - Today at 9:33 PM
- 'and has a rudimentary understanding of most forms of technology as well'
- I have a rudimentary understanding of modern technology
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:33 PM
- So we have no reason to belive you could know.
- Melon - Today at 9:33 PM
- and I could tell if a guy was wearing good armour or not
- Especially if I could see it as if I was standing an inch away from it
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:34 PM
- ru·di·men·ta·ry
- ˌro͞odəˈment(ə)rē/
- adjective
- adjective: rudimentary
- involving or limited to basic principles.
- Melon - Today at 9:34 PM
- Yar, guy wearing thick metal, probably good armour
- pretty basic tbh
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:34 PM
- So I could have an understanding of a remote, but I wouldn't know the types of plastic used for it, etc.
- Mobius - Today at 9:34 PM
- I am so glad I don't work tomorrow
- Melon - Today at 9:34 PM
- I don't really need to know the exact chemical composition
- Just if it's reasonably good armour
- Or what my character would perceive as good armour
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:35 PM
- Not all bulky armor has teh same density or makeup.
- Melon - Today at 9:35 PM
- I was under the impression Junction was wearing some sort of tight supersuit that kept him cool based off his description of his armour
- Hence my character would have no idea he was even wearing armour
- But obviously you can't really wear Tungsten like that, so it would be more obviously plated
- Or w/e his armour composition is, I still don't actually know
- Mobius - Today at 9:36 PM
- This sounds more reasonable than what you said earlier
- "i looked at the sheet"
- Melon - Today at 9:36 PM
- :sob:
- Yeah, I looked at the sheet because he didn't really describe his armour comp to me
- IC
- Nor has he really described his frost freeze plasma attack thing
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:37 PM
- encased by the helmet of his cryogenic combat armor.
- As opposed to the fact that he states he's wearing combat armor in his apperance?
- Melon - Today at 9:38 PM
- Well, I didn't try to shoot him in the head
- So I wasn't really looking at his face
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:38 PM
- Cryogenic combat armor implies it's not just his head, bruh.
- Melon - Today at 9:38 PM
- Yes, but combat armour can mean anything really
- Especially with a sci-fi character
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:39 PM
- Appeaance: Tall but possessed of a lithe build. Athletically fit with long limbs. Face is a bit squarish with pronounced cheekbones underlining a pair of striking blue eyes. His hair is a very dirty blonde color that is usually encased by the helmet of his cryogenic combat armor.
- The cryogenic combat armor itself is large and bulky,
- Melon - Today at 9:39 PM
- I had to use cues my character would actually understand or recognise
- If he was wearing a skin-tight super armour that looks nothing like armour, I'd have still used the shatterhead
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:39 PM
- It literarly says in teh second paragraph it's large and bulky.
- Melon - Today at 9:39 PM
- Foolishly I didn't look at the appearance section
- I'm not used to people putting their armour in the appearance section
- As it's considered equipment, rather than an intrinsic part of a character's physical appearance
- Not to mention there was an actual armour section
- So I sort of expected relevant information to be there
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:40 PM
- Well, the armor would be part of his apperance.
- Mobius - Today at 9:40 PM
- >reading profile sheet for ic justification
- >not metagame
- Well it's a good thing the profile was all fucked up
- honestly if I didn't want to run this legit and give you guys the appearance of being 100 percent unbias
- I would hide profile sheets
- Melon - Today at 9:41 PM
- I wouldn't have a fucking clue what my character could see if you had
- Mobius - Today at 9:41 PM
- I would love to see how broken most strats are when not taking notes of their opponents
- like
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:42 PM
- Melon, this is what it looks like to me. You fucked up with the wrong arrow because you were gonna use his sheet to see, which one to use.
- Mobius - Today at 9:42 PM
- I would love to do a hidden sheet tournament
- but I won't
- cause if I did
- I'd get screamed at for all sorts of reasons(edited)
- It'd be a lot worst
- Melon - Today at 9:42 PM
- I fucked up because I imagined his armour different to what it actually looked like
- And so my character used the wrong arrow
- Mobius - Today at 9:42 PM
- Nope
- rofl
- Well yeah that's how metagame works(edited)
- 如月 涼子 - Today at 9:42 PM
- No sheet tournament would be nice
- Mobius - Today at 9:43 PM
- Well hidden sheet
- 如月 涼子 - Today at 9:43 PM
- Why do you think people won't like it?
- Mobius - Today at 9:43 PM
- cause if I nerf something
- Melon - Today at 9:43 PM
- Also I failed because he did actually describe his armour being bulky IC
- Mobius - Today at 9:43 PM
- someone will want to know if I nerf something else
- Melon - Today at 9:43 PM
- And I missed it
- But w/e
- Mobius - Today at 9:43 PM
- that they'd think needed nerfing
- or accuse me of gaming the system
- by giving profiles to "certain" players
- and without proof
- I can't argue otherwise
- Doll Maker. - Today at 9:43 PM
- Melon - Today at 6:43 PM
- Also I failed because he did actually describe his armour being bulky IC
- He descrobed it in his apperance too.
- Mobius - Today at 9:43 PM
- See with open sheets at least people can see our incompetence at times
- and we can correct it
- like with Darth and the fire guy
- or DLL
- So with open sheets we can prove our end
- Melon - Today at 9:45 PM
- If you do closed sheets you have to watch every fight like a hawk
- Because no one knows what their opponents can do
- There's no way to self moderate
- 如月 涼子 - Today at 9:45 PM
- I see
- Hidden sheets would be interesting though
- Mobius - Today at 9:46 PM
- with open sheets I can just blast accusations with open facts everyone can see
- It would
- Melon - Today at 9:46 PM
- Not that I have any fucking idea what my opponent can do anyawy
- 如月 涼子 - Today at 9:46 PM
- Because people would now have to play cautious
- Melon - Today at 9:46 PM
- Yeah, for one fight
- Unless you plan to make fights hidden as well
- 如月 涼子 - Today at 9:46 PM
- Like imagine if no one knew about Mitsu's electric field
- And they just run upt him
- up*
- Mobius - Today at 9:46 PM
- Lol
- Melon - Today at 9:46 PM
- I suppose it'd add an interesting layer of strategy to hide your abilities until later rounds
