Skillfully caught within the delicately woven chain guard that
covers the rapier's hilt, light refracts from the bloodstones that
are cast throughout. Intricate runes dance along the blade itself,
words of power glistening along the edges and sets the surface ablaze
as any illumination reflects off the edges. Honed to a razor's
sharpness, the sword practically sings through the air with a vibration
that indicates the master's skill that went into creating this weapon.
Little initials of opal adorn the hilt of the rapier with the forger's
mark and are also used to create raised studs that secure the wielder's
grip.

Tempered steel wraps its way along the handle of this feather-light
rapier, flowing seamlessly into the swept gold hilt. As the hilt
coalesces at the base of the onyx blade, the gold of the hilt wraps into
razor-thin streaks that race along the length of the rapier. The blade
itself has been constructed from the deepest midnight hue of onyx
the gold insets merely serve to accent this midnight black colour of the
blade. Flecks of onyx have been added to the sweeping hilt, causing it
to twinkle slightly in the light.

Examined:
Forged from darkened Angkrag steel, this master weapon has been tempered
to perfection. The rapier's blade gleams with a dark presence, giving
off a somewhat threatening feel as the metal absorbs the light that
touches it. Its surface is smooth and flawless, kept simple and well
balanced. To compliment the blade's weight an iron-crafted gargoyle has
been attached to it. With its tail and hind legs clinging to the blade,
its body stretches down forming the hilt of the weapon. Serving as the
pommel, the head of the gargoyle lunges out, baring its jagged teeth.
The wings of the beast stretch out to form a solid crosspiece.
