- You stir from your slumber to find yourself lying on your back in the same mid-sized room with the four bookshelves from before
- You distinctly remember the stag imp who knocked you out and his large friend
- What next?
- Matine_Etwaul
- I resume doing whatever I was doing in my current position. Whichever thing that is, since this dungeon is a bit too complex for me to remember.
- Also, it's been a while.
- And my memory is shi'ite.
- Tzivos_DM
- You remember pulling on various color-coded books that activated mechanisms which lifted the gargantuan bookshelves in the grand hall
- Matine_Etwaul
- Oh yeah.
- Tzivos_DM
- after pulling on a green book, a third bookshelf was raised
- Matine_Etwaul
- I investigate the now-revealed area.
- Tzivos_DM
- it appears someone or something closed the door to the bookshelf room while you were unconscious
- Matine_Etwaul
- Damn it. I go back to the area where I found the green book.
- Tzivos_DM
- You're inside the bookshelf room
- You remember that you were knocked out in this room by the stag imp
- Matine_Etwaul
- I look around to see if the stag imp is still here.
- Tzivos_DM
- There's no trace of any other life in the bookshelf room
- Matine_Etwaul
- Rad.
- I look around for the green book.
- Tzivos_DM
- The green book is found hanging from the bookshelf you originally pulled it from
- It's still in the half-removed position from when you pulled on it
- Matine_Etwaul
- I pull it again.
- Tzivos_DM
- nothing happens
- Matine_Etwaul
- I open the door, since apparently that's all I needed to do :P
- Tzivos_DM
- The door, which was never locked, opens easily to reveal the dastardly duo of the stag imp and boombox ogre just mumbling in the middle of the grand hall.
- As you open the door it lets out a large *creaking* noise
- you've grabbed the pair's attention

- The new room contains another triangular table with chairs and a large mural depicting a strange troll wearing an equally strange outfit with a squiggly symbol on it
- Matine_Etwaul
- Can you describe the creature / symbol?
- Tzivos_DM
- the symbol is a circle with squiggles

- Tzivos_DM

- Tzivos_DM
- The final place you haven't investigated is still blocked off by a bookshelf about 20-50 times your size

- Matine_Etwaul
- I mean the room that has the book for me to pull out.
- Tzivos_DM

- Matine_Etwaul

- Tzivos_DM
- it slides in smoothly
- what next?
- Matine_Etwaul
- I twist the key in it, since that's usually how locks work.
- Tzivos_DM
- as soon as you twist the key it's absorbed by the book as you hear various *clicking* noises before the bookshelf slides backwards and up, revealing a small passageway
- Matine_Etwaul
- I carefully enter the passage and prepare to blast any enemies that show up.
- Tzivos_DM
- the passageway is incredibly dusty, creating a contrast to the rest of the library. There's no sign that any life existed here for quite a while
- as you make your way through the passage you reach a small, circular room
- inside is a pedestal

- Matine_Etwaul

- And open it up.
- Tzivos_DM
- the tome is sealed shut with a small lock
- Matine_Etwaul
- Is there a code I can scan on it?
- Tzivos_DM
- not at all. The tome is made with exquisite cloths and leather bindings which have been surprisingly perfectly preserved
- Matine_Etwaul
- Well I don't have any more keys at the moment, so I guess that's all I can do for now.
- Tzivos_DM
- even more surprising, you can read the title
- it only says "journal"
- Matine_Etwaul
- I captchalogue the book and go back into the grand hall.
