  5. Time to start fixing one of my biggest blindspots in music. I have never listened to a David Bowie album in full because ugh, not enough time. And I guess there isn't a better place to start than one of his most beloved albums from his classic period. A very artful yet accessible album that includes Life On Mars? (which I first heard in AHS: Freak Show, pls no judging), which is an absolute gem of a song, especially with its playful orchestral. It's a banger. But the other songs, well they aren't as good as Life On Mars? But Kooks is a very sweet song dedicated to his son who would eventually direct the Warcraft movie (bad) and Source Code (good). Overall the album is a varied listen that'll I'll probably come back to. Although I can imagine in 1970 that someone referencing Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and Andy Warhol on the same album must've seemed stranger than it does now. But not a lot stuck out to me, maybe that's because I've heard this album's influences so much that the original doesn't sound as special to me. Also I'm not sure if it's an issue with the remaster only but there are huge volume problems with this it and that was kinda annoying.
