Fatalis Weapons of Worth

This is a list of which of Fatalis's weapons are worth going for.
Fatalis doesn't have multiple weapons of each type, so this list will be much more compact, only listing options applicable.
Just a heads up, most of them are best in slot. It's insane.

By the way, the Fatalis armor is ALSO fucking ridiculous and is easily going to be meta for most weapons like the old dragoon armor from Behemoth was. Definitely build the beta armor, and also probably the alpha armor for mixing purposes (I don't think any set offhand will require all 5 pieces, most will use 4 and something else, again like the old dragoon set from Behemoth).

This is mostly due to having great slots (the Beta armor has three 4-slots on EVERY PIECE), decent skills, and ridiculous set bonuses.

2-piece set bonus: Uncaps every armor skill that can be uncapped, as though you had every [Skill] Secret active at once. This doesn't give you the levels in the applicable skills, only removes those applicable caps.

4-piece set bonus: True Razor Sharp/Spare Shot, AND +100 to max Health/Stamina at start of quest or after fainting (doesn't stack).
Note: What this means is your HP and Stamina will be set to 200 at the start of a quest, and/or after fainting. So if you switch away from the set bonus and then back to it during a quest, it won't apply the Health/Stamina upgrades until you faint. Be advised that 200 HP is normally gained from eating and having Health Boost 3, while 200 Stamina is normally gained from eating and having Stamina Cap Up. So this means you don't have to have those skills (since they won't stack) and that you don't have to eat for health/stamina.

Anyways, onwards to the list.


Greatsword: Best in slot.
Longsword: Best in slot.
Sword 'n Board: Best in slot.

Duals: It's actually worse than the Kjarr equivalent in element heavy matchups. However against elementally resistant foes that take high raw, it can shine. Offhand that's Ruiner Nerg, Stygian Zinogre (uncharged), Shrieking Legiana, Blackveil, Frostfang Barioth, Barioth, and Kulve Taroth. This is because its mostly a raw weapon with some dragon. You're likely better off with the Alatreon Duals anyways, they're comfier.

Charge Blade: Best in slot for Impact. Also has better (Read: Purple) sharpness. Fuck yeah.
Switch Axe: Best in slot for Power Phial.
Hammer: Best in slot.

Hunting Horn: Best in slot for Raw and Blast builds. Still slightly loses to the elemental builds in their preferred matchups. Note that there is no elemental build for Fire, because the options for it suck.

Lance: Best in slot.
Gunlance: Best in slot for Normal. Statistically best in slot of the three gunlance styles.
Insect Glaive: Best in slot, even beats all the elemental builds in their preferred matchups.


Bow: Beats all Raw and Blast builds. If you don't do that (maybe because Bow is an elemental weapon), then don't bother.

Light Bowgun: Ehhhh. You can use it for RF Spread 2s but it loses to Frostfang's Spread 3s. You can also use it for RF Pierce 2s and it's pretty strong there but you're stuck with stationary reloads. I'd give it a pass.

Heavy Bowgun: Best in slot for the three main ammos (Normal, Spread, Pierce) in general. Be advised, it has Wyvernsnipe instead of Wyvernheart. Also, in the specific scenario of stacking Shield mods on it while using it as a Spread gun, the Safi Burstcannon beats it. The Burstcannon in general is still a respectable alternative if you must have Wyvernheart, if you're okay with running a Spread gun. The Safi Rapidcannon and the Safi Snipecannon (the old Normal and Pierce options) are completely outmatched though.
