Streets of Darkness cut-scenes

*As this is intended to be a brawler side-scroller for an 8-bit or 16-bit format the cut-scenes are extremely minimal.

   Thunder and lightning flash as the pitch black clouds part slightly for an ominous blood red sky. The scene scrolls down across a Cyber-punk city twinkling with electric lights across a large compound. Before a massive high tech gate the camera panning stops. A red flash and a mysterious black hooded and robed female figure appears. She holds out her arms and brings her hands together in a mystical manner, another red flash and a small strange black pod appears at her feet. She waves her hand across a communication pad to the side of the gate making it light up like mad. Another red flash and she is gone, small red dots of energy flow into the pod. As the gate opens revealing a pair of women the pod opens and a baby can be heard crying.

    Scrolling Text:

    On the distant planet of Oden in the Odafen system the mysterious child grew in the gender segregated orphanage/boarding school. Although a note left in the pod informed the care givers of the child possessing great potential power; they detected no advanced nano-tech within her and wrote her off as yet another child left in their care by an impoverished individual trying to give their child a better future. Despite the prejudice against such a child she grew with little hatred towards them, only annoyance, especially as strange powers did indeed begin to manifest within her that they couldn’t explain.

  One day upon the playground the girl was approached by a boy, who revealed himself to be her twin brother, having been kept in the boy’s side of the orphanage. The two only ever met either on the playground or when they snuck out. As they grew so did their strange powers and fighting skills. They trained in secret, searching out challenges among the city’s many street fighters and criminals. They learned in this manner about the Dark Syndicate, and decided to jump them in the nearby park one night to test their abilities.


-Here the game begins, as the player selects between Rhulan or Rhoan, or both in two player-

    Final Scene:

    The Authorities arrive, as does the mayor, who congrats Rhulan and Rhoan for their timely arrival and dispatching of the Darkness Syndicate. The big boss is angry, “I knew you were betraying me mayor; to think the Revenge Corp actually had such monsters working for them; and knew not to alert the police of their arrival. How’d you know I had informants in the police corp, I have to know?”

  Rhulan turns and says, “Who?”

   At this moment the authorities receive a call from the Revenge Corp announcing their arrival on the planet, leaving everyone confused.

  The mayor looks at the twins and ask, “Wait…then who are you?”



  -cut to a Revenge Corp officer greeting Rhulan and Rhoan at a space port and the text (A few Weeks Later) at the top of the screen.

  With the officer saying, “Welcome to the Revenge Corp.”
