[11:50] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) nods. "I absolutely agree to having this conversation recorded, thank you for asking."
[11:51] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): smiles to her "you are most welcome" she'd pull up her application form so she was able to see it "Miss Komarov Why do you want to work in Law Enforcement?"
[11:54] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) grins. "Honestly, it's always something I've wanted to do. I enjoy searching for what people wish to keep secret from the world, and ensuring that those secrets aren't the result of harm to someone else. Law enforcement was the obvious choice for me for that reason alone, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't doing it to help the community at large as well."
[12:02] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) nods. “Absolutely. I was first hired by the Port Dominion Police Department, where I served as a patrol officer for approximately 5 years before being brought into their investigations division. I did about 3 years of that, including a promotion to Sergeant, and being brought up as the head of investigations. I ended up starting, and being heavily involved in a drug task force as a result, which ended up with a couple of major arrests, and about... 3 million worth of assorted opiates and methamphetamine being taken off the streets.” She chuckled, and smiled a bit at those memories. Good times. “Unfortunately, PDPD had to shut it's doors due to funding issues, but I was able to transfer over to the Woodland County Sheriff's Department over in Vermont to head their investigations division for almost two years. Throughout that time, I was able to keep up to date on all my certifications, and taking new courses to keep on top of the game... so I'd say my biggest strength is my ability to improve myself, and adapt to new changes.”
[12:04] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): Nods and changes up her next question slightly has her question was basically answered "what do you think of your previous Chief?"
[12:06] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) chuckled a bit, and took a second to think over her answer. “Sheriff Krull Darkshine was a fantastic leader, and he always did a great job keeping his deputies happy, but in order. I can't say enough good things about him, to be honest.”
[12:07] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): nods "why are you leaving your current job / left your last job?"
[12:10] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) sighed a bit, accompanied by a slight frown. “Unfortunately WCSD was seen as unnecessary by the powers that be, and was absorbed by the Vermont State Police, who refused to allow us to transfer into their department. It's unfortunate, but all of us are doing our very best to overcome that.”
[12:11] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): nods to her "i'm sorry to hear that" she'd say before continuing on "Have you ever used medications or drugs that were not prescribed to you by a doctor or used them in a manner in which they were not prescribed, including the use of any recreational drugs?"
[12:13] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) smiled a bit at the Lieutenant's comment. “Thank you, I appreciate that. Anyways, I have never abused any substance, and I can provide a history of tests to back that up if need be.” She grinned, and laughed a bit. “I don't even drink, so no issues on that front either.”
[12:14] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): nods to her "its all good" she'd shuffle threw the papers "so How would your friends describe you?"
[12:17] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) took a moment to think over that question... she hasn't really had many non-LE friends as of late, so she had to come up with an answer that didn't make her sound like a complete dork. “Hmm... Since I started investigations, I would have to say 'distant', to be completely honest. Otherwise, fairly outgoing, friendly, and helpful.”
[12:18] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): lets out a small smile has she moves on to the next question "Tell me about something in your life that you would consider to be your greatest failure or regret, what you did about it, and how you learned from it."
[12:23] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) nods. “Well, I was born male, but I knew from a very early age that wasn't right at all for me, and that I'm actually female – but I didn't have the courage to speak up about it until I was 16 or so out of fear of what my parents would say. Not speaking up about that sooner is my biggest regret, but the fact that I was able to overcome the mental hurdles involved and sought help taught me that the only limitations in life are the ones I allowed to occur.”
[12:25] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): offers a smile and nods before moving on "Your out on patrol and you decide to stop at the local market, while inside you see a family member put an item they have not paid for into their pocket, what do you do?"
[12:29] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) grins. Classic question. “Considering it's not a theft until they make an attempt to leave the establishment without paying for it, I would notify the cashier or manager, and stick around in case they did attempt to leave with it. Even if they did attempt to leave, it might have only been a mistake, so that should be kept in mind for going straight to cuffs. Observation and communication are the officer's best tools, after all.”
[12:31] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): "How would you react if you knew a fellow officer was committing a crime?"
[12:34] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov): "I would document it, and report it to my supervisor as needed, depending on the severity of the crime. If it's something simple like speeding, I would probably have a talk with them first, and escalate if required."
[12:34] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): grins and knows the next Question was sort of answered but figured she'll ask anyways "looks down at the application form before looking back up "why did you put "voice" was the most powerful item in an officers arsenal "
[12:39] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) grins. “Because your voice can be used in every situation, no matter the scale. It carries the authority needed to convince someone to drop their weapon, or provides the means to get the complete story on a call. Everything else on our belt is great at one task, but none of them have the human aspect that the job requires.”
[12:39] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): nods and grins "why do you think we should hire you?"
[12:42] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) grins back at the Lieutenant. "I feel that my broad experience in investigations would be a fantastic asset to your department, even if they are only applied at the patrol level. I'm flexible enough to fill whatever cracks there may be, and I'm more than happy to do just that."
[12:43] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): nods and smiles leaning back slightly in her chair "do you have any questions today?"
[12:45] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) nods. "I do, thank you for asking. I was wondering what the path into your investigations department is like for a new hire, and what kind of timeframe would I be looking at?"
[12:46] Evie Faye Neox (1MyLittleSecret1 Resident): thinks about the question for a moment "everyone starts of with training and patrol, these is no time frame on being a detective"
[12:47] Sierra Komarov (SLI Komarov) nods. "Sounds good to me. One last question, what is the probationary period like, and what kind of training would be provided with that?"
