  7. ---And so, the curtains were drawn on our history.
  8. It is now 90 days after the invasion from outer space.
  9. The Earth has become a planet entirely bleached white.
  10. Just a mere three months of resistance.
  11. No, rather, it was a long, long battle that continued for three months.
  12. All manner of resistance has ended pointlessly. That is a given.
  13. As we were only good at monitoring our neighbouring countries, we had no plans at all for handling space invaders.
  14. The United States of America, which had been battling the invasion to the end, was destroyed just several days ago.
  15. The remaining handful of humans can do nothing but stare up at the empty sky helplessly.
  16. In their eyes lie the vacant despair that has accepted this day, of all days, may be the day the world ends.
  17.
  18. ...However, I just could not accept it.
  19. Casting aside the contemptuous glances of those immersed in their last prayers, I leap out of the campgrounds like a tantrum-throwing child.
  20. There is not even a single fragment of the past that can be seen.
  21. Only a new, white wilderness can be seen, stretching out before my eyes.
  22. We no longer have any hopes of reversing this situation or even surviving it.
  23. No activity of ours will bear any fruit.
  24. Unable to accept that, I am attempting to fish for records of the past.
  25. Riding an old motorcycle with enough fuel only for a one-way ride, I embark into the world which has now been turned into a white wilderness.
  26. After all, it's just weird. There are too many questions.
  27. At least, before I die, I may be able to find out "Why".
  28.
  29. The world has ended. That's fine.
  30. The invaders are aliens from outer space. That's fine.
  31. However, their motives, their purpose, their story; it is all too secretive.
  32. The invasion lasted for 90 days, but there should have been signs of it beforehand.
  33. There should have been those who had foreseen this situation.
  34. Or perhaps---
  35. There were those who overlooked this, knowing that it would end up this way.
  36.
  37. How did the invaders appear on this planet? If these traces, this secrets are not exposed, humanity will not be able to die in peace.
  38.
  39. "This" is what I hope my journey in search for clues will uncover.
  40. Though this voice recording is my soliloquy, it is at the same time the final record of this planet.
  41.
  42. My name is David. David Bluebook.
  43. A strange man who went on this final journey to seek a satisfactory answer, whilst abandoning all hopes and expectations for a future.
  44.
  45. ---
  46.
  47. 2016
  48. Notes from a researcher
  49. 18 hours after the observation results from New Mexico, "Specimen: E" has finally brought into the base.
  50. To be frank, I couldn't hold back the excitement. It's a remarkable deed ever since the 1947's Roswell Incident.
  51. I have not been told, nor I hold the interest of what kind of flying methods do that thing landed forcefully onto this planet.
  52. The only thing I'm certain, is that the thing was almost at the verge of death. It's a situation on how it couldn't have survived without our (human)'s help.
  53. And then, it's obviously different ours (humans), an intelligent lifeform totally different from humans.
  54. Its shape, its form, is something we could not ever fathom.
  55. It is something we humans should sing our praises.
  56. It's a form, a form of a monster like those aliens coming from outer space, or those that appear in those crude movies.
  57.
  58. Our given operation, is to revive our friend from faraway world, and establish communications with it.
  59. Our heart pumps, all our staff, including me, are all pumped out with a sense of mission.
  60. Though it's hard for a surgery, we will do our absolute best to save our guest. There is no other task much worth than the one we're going to do.
  61. ....However, there remain only one regret.
  62. We cannot publicize this fact and announce it to the public.
  63. This project is our top most secret, and until we make it a success, we definitely cannot announce it.
  64. We have to continue looking after it in this underground facility without the knowledge of others.
  65. ------ Like this "Root of tree", the study of this unknown life form.
  66.
  67. Outro.1 end.

  71. Intro 1
  72.
  73. Kirschataria "It's been 90 days since the Cosmic Tree sprouted... 3 months has passed since then. The Lost History Filter Phenomenon ------- the replacement of Lostbelt is successfully over. For now, let us celebrate the end of our first phase. This is thanks to everyone's efforts.”
  74.
  75. Beryl "Hmm? You're exaggerating, Kirschataria. Not anyone of us here have done anything rewarding. The replace of textures, and the invasion from the aliens are all thanks to the great achievement of our great "Outer God", you see. All we have done so far, if any, is to please our kings of Lostbelt. The real show begins from here, yes?"
  76.
  77. Ophelia "....You understood nothing, Beryl. Both the stability of Lostbelt and the growth of "Tree" are one and the same. What Kirschatria-sama meant here is about establishing contract with the servants of Lostbelt, and invest all efforts into maintaining it. This refers to masters who still haven't gone past that playing mood, like you."
  78.
  79. Beryl "Hey, hey, spare me those stares of yours Ophelia. I suppose those joke flew right over your head...Rather, Kirschataria-(sama) eh, I see. That's quite a change in you ever since your post-awakening. Well, I'm not going to make any ironic comments about it. We're in this situation after all, I understand the feeling of wanting to depend on others here. So, let us fix our misunderstandings here. Miss, I have been really serious here, more than you can ever imagine. We've died once before, you know? It's one important thing which we could not spare time to fooling around here. Considering we have been successfully revived, we can no longer expect any second sympathies from our outer god anymore. Therefore, we'd like to do the things we want to do while we're still alive.
  80.
  81. It's the precise joy of living while killing and robbing ----- Come on, you'd think the same too isn't it, Daybit?"
  82.
  83. Daybit "I agree. The act of killing while going through our tasks, is a feeling one cannot experience while in the coffin. My assigned territory and your assigned territory is primitive here. This goes without saying that we're blessed with the chance here."
  84.
  85. Beryl "That's right. They'd come after us even if we don't feel like it anyway. We can't spare any time to fool around, right?"
  86.
  87. Ophelia ".....Right. I can't help but to sympathize with your assigned Lostbelt."
  88.
  89. Kadoc ".........."
  90.
  91. Peperonchino "My. Compared to Beryl who is acting just as usual, you don't seem to be in high spirits, Kadoc? Having dark rings under your eyes is a bad thing y'know? Not sleeping well? or is it just stress?"
  92.
  93. Kadoc ".....It's both. Just leave me alone. I'll make sure my task is done properly."
  94.
  95. Peperonchino "That's somewhat impossible. Really impossible. If you want us to leave you alone, at least do it with a smile. Having a friend in gloomy faces makes me gloomy as well, that's a given, right? I am worried about you, all for my own sake, and that has nothing to do about your circumstances nor your feelings here. You get it? If you want to be alone, you need to have a suitable strength to go along with it. If that makes you stressful, then it means you're not there yet. You gotta find something fun to mitigate that. That's right, though this does feel cheesy but how about some tea? I've managed to find some good tea leaves in this Lostbelt over here. How about sending some of these to your place? The empress would be happy to have it as well."
  96.
  97. Kadoc "....What an unnecessary concern coming from you. You sure haven't change one bit, even in this world, Pepe."
  98.
  99. Peperonchino "Kyaa! I've been praised! How lovely, for a killing expression you sure did it quite well, Kadoc!"
  100.
  101. Kadoc "No, I'm just dumbfounded....Good grief, if you're talking about something having fun here, you sure have one strong case here, Ophelia."
  102.
  103. Ophelia "That is....well, no. Peperochino is an exception here, for him, that's just his default mode."
  104.
  105. Beryl "Yes yes. Peperonchino is one guy that wouldn't listen no matter what. It's the personality to the extent of having a fake name to go with it, you know? Whether he's being a staunch optimist or a natural outlaw. Whichever that is, he's just one fella where you'll be in for a hell ride if you take him seriously. If you try to get him cornered and reveal his true colors, that's exactly when the world is going to end. Well, in that case, it is as stated, even if the world ended, he's still not going to reveal himself. "
  106.
  107. Akuta Hinako "...Let's cut the small talk here. Kirschataria, what's your business about? My report for this Lostbelt is done: My Lostbelt is not suited for domain expansion, and I won't be fighting against anyone here. The rest of you can just compete on this domination whatever of the planet. I'm pretty sure I've contacted you all about it, yes?"
  108.
  109. Kadoc "....As if your words are trustworthy. Don't think you can avoid this conflict even if you shut yourself in, Akuta. In the end, there can only exist one Lostbelt and we have no choice but to choose. Even if you give up expanding your Lostbelt domain, eventually other Lostbelts will be invading it. Are you fine with it? Are you fine with sitting around and be a loser?"
  110.
  111. Akuta Hinako "..Not really. If that results in my Lostbelt disappearing, I'm fine with it. I just want to be there this time for good, and remain there until the end. It's a problem of agreement here. As long as I can do that, I'll obey the other Crypters."
  112.
  113. Beryl "Not interested in the power struggle of the Lostbelts, eh. Well, it is going to be a game where results are obvious. We won't even come close to Kirschataria even if we gather up. This is a race situation where the game has already decided their King of Earth. Besides, it’s terrible if you look at both Daybit and my assigned, you know? Since either of those places are "Human history that could have taken place possibly". With that, Kirschataria's assigned place is perfect. Hell, what's worse it might flourish even better than his Pan History counterpart! It's unfair isn't it? He's been favored ever since the beginning. Man, the luck of those who are born with luxury are sure different!"
  114.
  115. Kirschataria ".........."
  116.
  117. Ophelia "Beryl! Beware your mouth! Kirschataria-sama himself raided the cities with his own effort! To prove that, 3 Divine Spirits are currently under Kirschataria-sama's ----"
  118.
  119. Kirschataria "The same goes to you as well, Ophelia. Beryl's words are not out of the point here."
  120.
  121. Ophelia "But--!"
  122.
  123. Kirschataria "Well why. It’s within the natural law that I am the one to win in the end. No matter what kind of your process you're speaking of here, the truth does not change."
  124.
  125. Kirschataria "Now. Even if we're using long distance communication here, the reason why I gathered all of you here is not about confirming on the growth and the situation of each Lostbelts. As of an hour ago, one of my servants have predicted the appearance of "Saint Graph" and the "Round Circle (Summoning Armament)".
  126.
  127. Kirschataria "The saint graph in question belongs to Chaldea, and the summoning circle is no doubt the round table wield by Mash Kyrielight. Looks like she and her companions finally get to surface after concealing their whereabouts and diving into the Imaginary Number Realm at the South Pole."
  128.
  129. Ophelia "...So they survived. Even after wandering around the imaginary number realm for 3 months..."
  130.
  131. Peperonchino "....Yeah, even after having Koyasukaya-chan to mobilize and prepare the Mage Association, and the easily manageable new Director in secret. Are you sure you're not selecting people by mistake, Wodime? If it's my servant the base would have been destroyed completely."
  132.
  133. Kadoc "......."
  134.
  135. Kirschataria "No, the choice was of the right one. Since Chaldea's protection is not sturdy enough, it's perfect. If they weren't be guided in as a new staff. They would have been dealt with through Leyshifting. To suppress them down, they needed to first sneak in, and completely halt Chaldeas beforehand. Koyansukaya's plan was a well done one. And if there are any problems here ---- it will be how that servant did not aggressively work on his task. However, this isn't Kadoc's responsibility. 3 servants that served as messengers....Neither both servants, that priest and Koyansukaya are our servants here."
  136.
  137. Kadoc ".....So. Do we have an idea where will those people appear?"
  138.
  139. Kirschataria "It hasn't been predicted this far yet. It will be mere hours until they surface into this world, that's all."
  140.
  141. Beryl "What the hell. So each of us should standby and stay alert at our own position-------"
  142.
  143. Daybit "Their appearance will be at Russia. They will surface within the Lostbelt."
  144.
  145. Akuta Hinako ".......Why is that?"
  146.
  147. Daybit "? Well why you ask, it's a reasonable guess. Their obtainable knowledge regarding "current Earth" lies only on the servant that attacked Chaldea. They are the only "connection*" used in order to surface from the Imaginary Number Realm. To them, Oprichniki serves as their only coordinates."
  148.
  149. * (written as "縁" meaning bond/fate/karma/relation/ties)
  150.
  151. Kadoc "....Hmph, their retribution eh. It's all about striking back after getting assaulted. To them, I am the one they should defeat first hand."
  152.
  153. Akuta Hinako "...I think it's all hindsighted opinions. However, I suppose it'd be easy if they're opponents who move based on revenge."
  154.
  155. Beryl "Revenge you say, this is a troublesome one! Don't think they'd seek to negotiate whatsoever! Yo, Kadoc! If that's the case should I move to assist you then? I heard you aren't used to conflicts yes? If you're fine with me, I can give you some lectures?"
  156.
  157. Kadoc "Save your efforts. You can just get lost and go back to your own Lostbelt. Having Pepe alone acting as a surrogate brother to my efforts is more than enough."
  158.
  159. Beryl "Eeh? I'm truly worried about you here. Rather, Peperonchino is more like a father figure than your brother in this case. Well, I guess it won't smart to tease you here since you're serious about this issue."
  160.
  161. Beryl "Okay, please do your best alone, Kadoc. It's also a place where you can display your manly efforts to the Empress. However don't go too far yeah? If things go badly, you can just haul your ass and run away, it's fine to do that."
  162.
  163. Beryl "We're rivals here but we aren't bitter enemies in this case. There is no worth in a Crypter who lost their Lostbelt. As long as you hush down and survive your way through, no one should be able to take any action to you. Am I right, Wodime?"
  164.
  165. Kirschataria ".........."
  166.
  167. Kirschataria "Kadoc, though this is obvious, we do have a non aggresion rule here. Our objective as a Crypter is to expand our assigned Lostbelt domain here. Once our Lostbelt boundary ended up clashing with each other, either one of them will end up getting swallowed. The Lostbelts that are built by greater human foundation will use those weaker lostbelt as their nutrient. However, we will not allow any confrontations outside of the clash ---- any interruptions from other Crypters within the Lostbelts aside their assigned ones. Meaning, If Chaldea were to appear in Russia, that would mean the King of Lostbelt in Russia should be the one handling the matter. Our mission is to ensure the restructuring of our humanity through the Lostbelt. The humans and gods will once again rebuild the world together. Considering it's now the end of the invasion of "the outer god", eliminating Chaldea is just an extra work. It won't be a hindrance to say that the task is just mere trivial."
  168.
  169. Kirschataria "However, we cannot deny that they're also obstacles. After all we're talking about those people who are used to overturning the world. ----Kadoc, I'll look forward to your ability here. Eliminate the obstacles, and get into nurturing the tree in Russia. The elimination of Chaldea is also a relevant matter here. I want to discover that all Lostbelts have the equal potential here. Any Lostbelts that have the potential of human history should not be allowed to remain dwarfed and shut in their own space."
  170.
  171. Kadoc "...I don't think you have to say that either, I have no intention of losing. I'm cutting off communications. If they appear here, all it does is to confront and engage them."
  172.
  173. Akuta Hinako "I'm going back to my throne as well. This King here is a monster when it comes to adventurous mind and conquering appetite. I don't guarantee what will happen if I leave it as is."
  174.
  175. Beryl "And well, time for me to go as well. Let me know if there is an SOS signal from Russia."
  176.
  177. Peperonchino "Sure. but you look happy there, Beryl. Are you that interested in having Kadoc in trouble?"
  178.
  179. Beryl "Hey, hey. Do you really think I'm that terrible of a person here, Peperonchino? I really am worried about Kadoc you know? I don't have a brother of my own you see. So at this point I do see and think of him as my own brother. I'd be sad if he dies you know, so I'd want to look after him as a brother figure. Just ---- this is different but I'm happy to see ----------- alive here. It has been a while since I'm this excited over breaking into the medical facility of ---. Though at that time I was discovered by the doctor and immediately got chased away. But now, there no longer exist anyone that can stop me anymore."
  180.
  181. Peperonchino ".......Beryl is sure another troublesome one. I'll excuse myself as well, since there are some minor yet weird incident thing going on right now. Though I've submitted my reports, I'd like to hear Daybit's opinions on the matter. What do you think of my Lostbelt, "The Square"?"
  182.
  183. Daybit "I saw insufficient information here, will an impression do?"
  184.
  185. Peperonchino "Of course. I want to hear your hunch in this."
  186.
  187. Daybit "Achilles Tendon. There's no other pressing key point than that. For you, and for this Lostbelt. Though if it's me or Wodime, we could have immediately sever it. However, if it's you, Peperonchino, you can just leave it behind. You're that kind of person aren't you?"
  188.
  189. Peperonchino "Oh yeah? Then I'll just observe the situation for now, even though if it's me I'd like to sever it off..."
  190.
  191. Daybit "Alright, I'm cutting off communications now. We'll meet up again after a month, as scheduled."
  192.
  193. Ophelia "....Each Crypters have gone back to their own positions. Are you fine with this, Kirschataria-sama? With Kadoc's ability, he'd have problems maintaining Russia's Lostbelt. The Russia King's spiritual value in the report is comparable with servants of Divine nature. Unlike Kirschataria-sama, I don't think Kadoc can tame him. If those Chaldea remnants were to get into Russia, there is no saying what will happen to Russia Lostbelt---"
  194.
  195. Kirschataria ".....Hmm. Ophelia, you're having the face of how it'd be troublesome if that Lostbelt will collapse before it even become other Lostbelt's nourishment.”
  196.
  197. Ophelia "N..No! It's just I felt a little unsettled over Kadoc's speech and behavior...because he has the principle of prioritizing the wishes of the Empress before our objectives”
  198.
  199. Kirschataria ".....The nature of him who is of an ordinary one would backfire, I suppose. Sure, I do see a point in your apprehension here. -----Caeneus, Cross the seas, it's time to utilize that authority. Fly to Russia, and look into Kadoc's movements. If his actions ended up betraying Crypter's motives, then he should be punished accordingly."
  200.
  201. Caeneus "Ah? What now, Crypter. Am I, the great Caeneus here your maidservant now, huh? What's more, pestering a woman for this matter? Hey you, what did you think Heroic Spirits are used for?"
  202.
  203. Kirschataria "Of course, I think of you as a trustworthy heroic spirit. Though you're violent in terms of speech behavior and temper, it's still something worth to be proud of. I will not have you betray your oath to humans who have won against you in a fair one-on-one struggle, nor you would rescind your previous remarks just when things are convenient to you like those gods. Or perhaps, are you telling me that you would turn against your honor over here like those people who did?"
  204.
  205. * T/N: The Japanese used "浮気性" but the context read more to the lines of "Dishonor, Betrayal".
  206.
  207. Caeneus "Hah, What a fast-talking human you are. A snob, weak, and a villain who assumes a lofty air! Sure, I'll be glad to be your dog for this, while counting the number of insults so great that it rips one's body off! I consider myself...no, those gods having unlucky for losing to you! I'll do my very best to look over the fruitless struggle of you humans!"
  208.
  209. Ophelia "To use Divine Spirit Caeneus as a messenger... Are you sure, isn't he...I mean she your bodyguard here?"
  210.
  211. Kirschataria "I don't mind. This is the reason why I established contract with Caeneus to begin with. I believe in him you see. So I'll have him be my eyes. I'll have Caeneus to monitor the great land from now on. Yeah, I'll have your lostbelt drop in over his as well. When that happens you have to be careful. As you know, he's not good against females like you. So if his mood is ruined, there is no guaranteed that he'd not wipe out the Lostbelt king in entirety, you see?"
  212.
  213. T/N: If you read Caeneus' legend, you'd know why Kirschataria used "he/him" to refer Caeneus.
  214.
  215. Ophelia "I wonder...this Lostbelt king over here is indeed an individual more docile than the Russian king. However, this power, too is also comparable to divine spirits. Not to mention----I do have the strongest knight in hand. Even if it's against the Divine Spirit Caeneus, there is no way I'll be outstripped here."
  216.
  217. Kirschataria "Is that so. Then I suppose I don't even have to say it. The future of your Lostbelt is also related to my Lostbelt here. I'd hope that the competition to gain the final seat would be mine against your Lostbelt. Our victory is as firm as a rock, but in the end only one of us can obtain that victory, Any insufficient factors in the victory made for my sake will not be allowed. Ophelia. I'm looking forward to your end brought by you. I need as many comrades as I could get for my cause."
  218.
  219. Ophelia "Yes----Yes, Kirschataria-sama! In my name, I swear I'll meet your expectations for me!"
  220.
  221. ---
  222.
  223. Kirschataria "The root of cosmic has fallen. The "Outer God" will soon descend. The three months of the rewriting of the Lostbelts has also ended. The next human history to succeed this planet will be ours... However...not enough, this is insufficient to satisfy me. The wise men of the Pan-Human History abandoned humans out of their leniency. The Beast bearing the name of the King of Magic gave up on humanity out of pity. However, I am different. My grip will surely not falter. Two thousand years after Divine Mystery has ceased to be and the foundation of the world passed over to humans... I will challenge the world that so many wise men have failed to reach, the conclusion that so many mages have failed to even consider. Watch me well, Marisbilly Animusphere. Watch me to bring the abstract theory that you left on the table as a sketch to completion."
