-Tiger's Eye
Tiger, tiger burning bright
in the middle of the night
is there any luck in sight?
Can you bring me to the light?
Or are you nothing but a blight
to lead me deeper into night?
Or are you neither of the kind
meant to show that luck is blind
not a thing that we can find?
Tiger, tiger, burning bright,
in the middle of the night

-One-Way Mirror
A mask is a vague thing, really.
After all, what is a mask?

Is it the makeup on a young girl's face?
Or the cheerful smile of someone who sobs within?

I have X-Ray Vision
I see through all these things
And more.

It's strangely insightful
To know everyone
Except myself.


-Dark Space
I have walked the dark places
where no one else has been
I have seen the fading lights
that shan't be seen again
I have been to nameless graves
And grieved for nameless men.
I know so many things
That won't be known again.
I've been the lowest filth
The richest wealth
The Reaper toasting to your health
All these things
Scum and Kings

But when I'm gone
They'll fade to dreams.


-Singsong Epitaph
On my grave
It will say:

Here lies a man who died today.
He wasn't strong
He wasn't bright
He wasn't that good in a fight
He slept by day
Woke by night
Knew a computer byte by byte
Read by sheafs
Was quite wise
All his thoughts
Trapped behind his eyes
Never did quite
Have a goal
All his dreams were never full.
Never did things
Life was dull
Dug his life into a hole
On this grave
It does say
Here lies a man who never lived.


-Education
There are words like <i>Knowledge</i>
That bring me jubilation
Attaining truth, wisdom, skills,
Moving forward.

There are words like <i>Education</i>
That cause me despair
Rote, repetition, drudgery, paperwork

So far from knowledge......


-Untitled
I yearn for something
I can't understand
Something that dances at the back
Of my head...

The bright lights of a dark city
Walking alone through deserted streets,
The stars bright above me.
The only sounds that of a lone car
Flying down a desolate highway
On a long trip of it's own,
And the click of my boots.

But there is more than just that....
To be Out There, my own.
No longer beholden,
Drudging through ages of paperwork
To earn another piece of paper
So I can give that to a man
Just so I can do more paperwork for him
So I can eat.

No, that's not for me.
I don't want
Any job that depends upon
A piece of paper
Bought with my childhood.

But the cruel, cold world
Doesn't care much for my dreams.
The world is built for
Those heaps of paper
Wrapped with red tape
Like horrible ribbons.

If I want to eat,
I need that paper.







But the stars are so bright...
