                - (Here's one I posted as Anonymous, what seems like ages ago)
 - >day 5
 - >Walking through ponyville
 - >the bright colors clash with my dark mood.
 - >Suddenly, poofy pink pony bouncing in a circle around me
 - >She babbles on and on and on.
 - >I kneel down closer, then grab the pony's head between my hands.
 - >I stare deep into her blue eyes, willing every drop of pain, homesickness, and sorrow into and through my gaze.
 - >The pony whimpers a bit, lower lip trembling.
 - >She tries to pull out of my grasp, but I hold.
 - >Another whimper, then there's the sound of air escaping a balloon as the pony's hair deflates.
 - >Stand and continue on my way, leaving the pony bawling in the street behind me.
 - >Today was a bad day
 - >Just like all the others.
 - >Day 6
 - >Sitting in Twilight's basement
 - >Pink pony bursts into door at the top of stairs.
 - >Confetti, confetti everywhere.
 - >She's singing some inane song.
 - >Stare at her, grab her head again when she gets close enough.
 - >She gives a cheerful smile.
 - >It fades quickly as I again express my sorrows directly through my gaze into her blue eyes.
 - >As she breaks into great waterfalls of tears, I head upstairs.
 - >I tell Spike and Twilight about Pinkie and head out on the town for a while.
 - >Night falls, and I see Twilight leading a still sniffling Pinkie home.
 - >I return to Twilight's partially flooded basement.
 - >Day 7
 - >Twilight talks at me about Pinkie.
 - >Mention not the pink one's name, lest their attention be drawn.
 - >Too late.
 - >Pinkie pops out of a vase with a plate of cookies, jabbering away cheerfully.
 - >She gets too close as she jabs a cookie in my mouth.
 - >Grab her head and look into her eyes.
 - >"Oh no not again..." she whimpers.
 - >As she breaks down in tears, Twilight yells at me.
 - >Grab another cookie as the purple one pushes me out the door of the library.
 - >As she heads back inside to console Pinkie for the second day in a row, I walk off, somberly munching the cookie.
 - >Day 8
 - >Standing in Carousel Boutique
 - >Rarity is taking measurements for making me some clothes.
 - >Twilight is still lecturing me about Pinkie.
 - >She steps out for a moment, then escorts Pinkie in.
 - >Twilight insists on an apology.
 - >As Rarity trots off with her measurements to get started, I kneel down.
 - >Cautiously, Pinkie starts to approach.
 - >I sigh.
 - "... I am sorry, Pinkie Pie."
 - >"Awwww, that's okay, Anonanononamousus!"
 - >She continues on in her babbling.
 - >I grab her head and look deeply into her eyes once again.
 - >She changes in mid-sentence to a slight scream, followed by bawling.
 - >I walk out as Twilight yells at me.
 - >I see Twilight taking a sniffling Pinkie Pie to get ice cream later in the day.
 - >Day 9
 - >The pegasi had scheduled a slight drizzle.
 - >I had gone out to do a few errands that Twilight needed done.
 - >Spike was busy dusting and reshelving books.
 - >Return to the library late in the day.
 - >"SURPRISE!"
 - >The library is filled with ponies, streamers, balloons, and confetti.
 - >Music plays from a gramophone in the corner.
 - >I give a polite nod to the crowd, heading to the refreshment table.
 - >I sip some punch and watch ponies dance and play games.
 - >Cautiously, the pink one eases up to my side and asks if I like it.
 - >I nod.
 - "Thank you, Pinkie Pie."
 - >She beams cheerfully, then babbles a response.
 - >She grabs my hand, then pulls me out onto the dance floor.
 - >She dances eagerly, encouraging me to do the same.
 - >I grab her head, pouring the sorrow from my eyes to hers.
 - >She breaks into a sorrowful wail.
 - >Her sobs are a jarring counterpoint to the cheery music in the background.
 - >The other ponies move in to cheer her up as I go down to my cot in the basement.
 - >Day 10
 - >I wake.
 - >The world was filled with yaps, barks, fur, and wagging tails.
 - >I sit up.
 - >Puppies. Puppies from wall to wall in my basement room.
 - >They scamper and crawl over each other as they play.
 - >Blinking, I pet a few that get closer.
 - >I wade through the puppies, and the door bursts open.
 - >It's Rarity! Oh wait, no. No, it's Pinkie again.
 - >She babbles on and on about the virtues of puppies to cheer others up.
 - >Fluttershy quietly peers in from behind the door and her mane.
 - >Pinkie scoops up a couple of puppies and gives a grin wider than seems possible as she shows them to me.
 - >The grin falters a bit as I lean closer and impassively look into those blue eyes.
 - >She flinches and shrinks back a bit as I pat the poofy pink mane her atop the head.
 - >I walk past Fluttershy and out to face the day.
 - >I see Pinkie looking jittery and nervous later on.
 - >She gives a nervous smile, then zips away before I get too close.
 - >...I wonder why.
 - >Day 11
 - >I have been walking around ponyville all day, looking for a place that I might rent.
 - >Just past lunchtime, the pink one started sneaking around, following me.
 - >It looks like she's carrying some sort of box.
 - >I slow down a bit, walking down one street for a good way, then turn a corner.
 - >Out of sight, I wait for the pink, bouncing pony to slink into view.
 - >A few moments pass, then she pops into view.
 - >She jumps a bit, then gives a big grin.
 - >She starts reaching behind her back. I must act quickly.
 - >I grab her head and stare deeply into her blue eyes.
 - >Every line and crease my hard life has carved into my face deepens as I pour my sorrows out through my gaze.
 - >A slight whimper escapes Pinkie, escalating into all-out bawling.
 - >A box falls from her back. It's wrapped like a present.
 - >A label indicating it's for me bobs from a ribbon.
 - >Leaving Pinkie to wail great waterfalls of tears, I open it.
 - >It's a hat. Somewhat nice, too.
 - >...
 - >I pat the poofy cloud atop the pink one's head, then stroll off.
 - >I put the hat on as her sobs fade into that low, tired moaning sort of sob.
 - >Day 12
 - >I was reading a book in Twilight's basement.
 - >Above, I heard the door slam open, followed by the pink one's voice.
 - >"Twilight! TWILIGHT! I've gotta super-de-duper megahuge monster problem I need your help with!"
 - >You hear the telltale sounds of books shifting from a disorganized pile.
 - >"Err, okay, Pinkie. What's the problem?" asks Twilight.
 - >I mark my place in my book. This might be interesting."
 - >"Okay you remember how the last seven days I've been trying to cheer Anon up but I keep winding up in tears?"
 - >"Vividly." Twi sounds bitter that she was the one that had to cheer the pink one up. Just a little.
 - >I walk up the stairs to the door, cracking it open a little to peer out.
 - >"So I was thinking I really need to bust out ALL the stops because parties and snacks and presents didn't do the trick and he really really needs something cheerful because he-"
 - >She continues to babble.
 - >This may be a problem developing.
 - >"-and then I said to myself, 'Pinkie!' and I answered, 'What?' and then replied, 'Nop0ny deserves to be that sad! We should do something!' and then I went with myself to my room f-"
 - >I open the door as quietly as I can, then start strolling toward the pink pony.
 - >"-but there wasn't anything th- Uh-oh."
 - >She turns around, wide-eyed. Her pupils shrink to pinpricks as I grip the sides of her head.
 - >A universe made of grief spins in my eyes as I stare deeply into Pinkie's again.
 - >She shudders in my grip for a little bit, then there's the sound of a deflating balloon as her mane... deflates.
 - >I release her, and she stays put, frozen in place.
 - >I pet her long, straight mane a little, then quietly murmur in her ear.
 - "Pick your battles... You don't have to worry about me."
 - >Her lower lip trembles as I turn and stroll back to the basement.
 - >A heart-wrenching wail of sorrow erupts as I close the door.
 - >...
 - >I pack some towels under the door to prevent flooding.
 - >Day 13
 - >Twilight has been acting cagey all day.
 - >Applejack got fidgety when I mentioned it to her.
 - >The pink one is nowhere to be seen.
 - >Mr. Cake started to say something when I asked, but Mrs. Cake silenced him with an eclair.
 - >Something was brewing.
 - >As I passed the spa, I was grabbed and pulled inside by pink and blue hooves.
 - >Their services were nice, even though they were unsolicited.
 - >As I reclined in their largest tub, usually intended for multiple ponies, my mind begins to wander to life before Equestria.
 - >A sigh escapes my lips.
 - >"Awwww... why so gloomy, Anon?"
 - >I suddenly realize I'm not alone in the bath.
 - >Pinkie smiles over at me.
 - >I stare at her. Her smile fades.
 - >"Awww... shoot. I was sure this would work!"
 - >I stand, then start walking out.
 - >"Wait! Wait! Don'cha want some lunch or someth-"
 - >I grab Pinkie's head when she gets close enough.
 - >She dangles from my hands as I stare deep into her eyes.
 - >Her lower lip trembles as she bears witness yet again to my unspoken sorrows.
 - >The spa ponies sweep in to tend to the softly crying pony once I set her down.
 - >Twilight is still acting cagey when I return.
 - >They're up to something.
 - >I can tell.
 - >Day 15
 - >The six have been acting strangely for the past few days.
 - >The pink one has kept on trying to cheer me up, but she hasn't been getting so terribly devastated when I stare into her eyes as much.
 - >Today, I was awoken by a ruckus upstairs.
 - >Heading up to the library, I saw the six.
 - >Pinkie beams cheerfully at me, and before I know it, I'm blindfolded and being led out the door.
 - >"ANONANONANONANON! Come with us! Come with us! We've got a biiiiiiig surprise for you!" bubbles Pinkie.
 - >Eventually they stop dragging me.
 - >They pull off the blindfold.
 - >I'm facing a modest house.
 - >"Tadaaaaa! We got you a place of your very own!"
 - >They push and pull me into the house.
 - >I haven't had my own place before. Only renting.
 - >The house was even scaled to me, mostly.
 - >I smile slightly, though I can feel that it doesn't reach my eyes.
 - "I appreciate it. Thank you."
 - >"You're welcome, Anon," replies Twilight. "Later today, Princess Celestia is going to be dropping by as well! She wants to meet you."
 - >I nod. It sounds like she's omitting something, but I don't press the issue.
 - >My sparse few belongings are moved to the house.
 - >Not long after lunch, a chariot descends from the sky.
 - >A winged unicorn at least twice as tall as the rest of the ponies steps out.
 - >Greetings and bows from the ponies around.
 - >I nod a polite greeting, and she gives a calm smile.
 - >"You must be the Anonymous that Twilight has written to me about. I am Princess Celestia."
 - >I exchange a few polite pleasantries.
 - >Pinkie suddenly goes for a hug.
 - >Frowning, I grab her head and start looking in her eyes.
 - >I feel my head gripped in magic, then turned to face the princess.
 - >"Twilight wrote to me of her concerns regarding Pinkie Pie and you. I decided that I should see for myself."
 - >She gives a calm smile. Well, she asked for it.
 - >I give a slight smile in return, then look deep into her violet eyes.
 - >My sorrows pour into the pearlescent pony princess's gaze.
 - >Her smile remains, though it recedes from her eyes.
 - >She stares back into my eyes.
 - >I can see a galaxy of grief bloom into her gaze, boring into me.
 - >The two of us stand there for ages, the six looking back and forth between the two of us with concern.
 - >A passing filly looks too long upon our faces, and breaks into a sorrow-filled wail.
 - >Soon, the entire plaza is filled with sobbing ponies.
 - >A faint smile emerges from me, little joy to be found in it.
 - >I recieve one in return.
 - >I step forward, wrapping a hug around the princess's neck, as she hugs in return.
 - >We turn, then begin walking down the street, supporting each other with each weary step.
 - >At a hilltop outside of Ponyville, we share our sorrows.
 - >Princess Celestia gives another hug, followed by sage advice tempered over millenia with the fires of wisdom.
 - >Day 30
 - >I haven't made Pinkie cry in a couple of weeks.
 - >Princess Celestia's advice has helped me cope.
 - >She also took a moment to explain to Pinkie that sometimes, a sadness is too big to just sweep away in one go.
 - >The pink one still does little things to try to cheer me up, but she's not as obnoxious about it.
 - >She's a nice pony.
 - >It's probably for the best that she doesn't leave me alone.
 - >That'd just let me wallow in my pity.
 - >Pinkie smiles expectantly up at me as I eat an eclair.
 - >I give her a smile I picked up from the princess and kneel down.
 - >A moment of panic flashes through her eyes as I reach toward her.
 - >...I pull her into a hug.
 - >Once it registers that she's not about to be exposed to the expanse of my troubles again, she hugs back with a smile.
 - "Thanks, Pinkie..."
 - >I'm not sure how long I hugged the pony.
 - >...maybe there are better days ahead.
 - >Maybe.
 - >And they lived, if not happily ever after, at least a little bit less sad.
 - >end
