  1. Event Name: It's Time To Duel
  2.
  3. Summary: Four people in-site find themselves in contact with an unknown reality bender who traps them in whatever room/area they were in at the time. In order to release them, he asks that they help in testing some sort of game - with the promise that it wouldn't take long and that they'd be rewarded merely for participating and destroyed for refusing. (I'll have to ask OOCly for people who wouldn't choose to be destroyed beforehand.)
  4.
  5. When they accept, all four will be transported into a different plane of existence devoid of anything other than themselves. Before them would appear seemingly holographic game mats, with slots marked GRAVEYARD, DECK, BANISHED, TRAPS/SPELLS(x3), and MONSTERS (x3). At this point in OOC, the game being Foundation YuGiOh would be revealed and the people involved offered to choose their decks - technically first come first serve, but since the decks are roughly equal in utility, they could decide based on the premise and a short explanation of what the deck excels at:
  6.
  7. Foundation Deck - Built around counters and good monsters.
  8. SCP Deck - Built around special abilities and debuffs
  9. THE CREATOR's deck - Built around special summons and related buffs
  10. GOI Deck - A mixed deck mostly focused on monster buffs
  11.
  12. The match would be a 2v2 and will go on until both players on either side hit 0 LP (Each having started with 8000). Game proceeds as a normal YuGiOh game, minus the 2v2 aspect - during their battle phase, a player needs to announce which of their opponents they will attack and both players in a team can't target the same person in one cycle.
  13.
  14. As for running the game, I'll sent the links to their full decks via pastebin to each player in DMs so they can familiarize themselves with it. Once everyone is ready, I'll send each of them the first four cards they've drawn - randomized with random.org and ordered on my end in an excel sheet. The players could confirm - and would be recommended to confirm - that they can play certain cards via DM, then announce them IC.
  15.
  16. Each monster would appear in the middle of the plane of existence as they would in the real world - the effects of every card and the attacks made by every monster would be visualized for the characters. The layout of the field will be provided to them along with their own play area via hologram - they could access information about each card by tapping on it, the only information displayed otherwise being the monster's ATK and DEF values, name and star rating.
  17.
  18. Since the cards feature GOIs, anomalies, etc. not encountered by the foundation in origins/horizons canon, characters will not remember specific names and lore details on the cards after the match ends. They would only remember information about the cards in the context of the game itself.
  19.
  20. When the game ends, all four players will be dropped off in the cafeteria, holding a single card - the Foundation player holding the MTF card for whichever MTF they are a part of; the SCP player holding the 173 card; the TC player holding THE CREATOR's card; the GOI player holding the Wanderer's Library card.
  21.
  22. The reality bender will 'reward' the participants by adding the option to play his game in the arena. If anyone complains, he will literally tell them to go suck a lemon.
  23.
  24. From there, arena games would work the same as these, but allowing for custom decks and normal 1v1 duels.
