  1. [20:53] Eryn Evanstere says, "Hm. Care for a spar, former prisoner? "
  2. [20:53] Eryn still refused to call her 'Spicy Lady'.
  3. (Eryn Evanstere)
  4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5.
  6. [20:53] Spicegirl says, "Hm.."
  7. [20:54] Spicegirl says, "Okay."
  8. [20:54] Eryn Evanstere says, "Follow me."
  9. [20:54] Aldrah Leverd asks, "Got wind crystals?"
  10. [20:54] Loretta says, "For now, we will hold off their creation."
  11. [21:00] Spicegirl's holy aura slowly begins to envelop her as they walk in preparation of the upcoming spar. A light breeze enveloped her, carrying the holy aura around. She'd been beaten in spars by nearly every Dawnite that she'd encountered so far, so perhaps this time, things would go differently.
  12.
  13. Following along in Eryn's coattails, they walked to a more open area for their magics to clash. "How come you wanna spar with me, all of a sudden?" she inquired.
  14. (Spicegirl)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [21:02] The young woman led the younger girl to the sparring field, glancing at the people within it before moving up a bit further so that they'd have clearer ground to fight on. In all honesty, part of this was a desire to see exactly how stronger the girl was, and part was a desire to ideally win another fight.
  18.
  19. Moving so there was a sufficient separation between them, Eryn pulled from her back a staff of excellent craftsmanship -which admittedly was tooting her own proverbial horn since she'd made it, but still- which she shifted to allow it to comfortably rest in her grip. Her fingers drummed over the staff a few times, the teen gently pushing mana into the focus to active the runes she'd scribed onto it.
  20.
  21. A deep breath and wings of a clearly draconic nature burst from her back, horns pushing their way out of her forehead. She was just about ready to fight, but then she paused. On a whim, she drew her hood up, figuring that given her desire to avoid being outed as a member of a certain society to enemy states she'd best learn to fight with slightly reduced visibility.
  22.
  23. "I'll answer after this first round. Now we fight.", the Drakanite answered, before rushing forwards to begin the spar.
  24. (Eryn Evanstere)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [21:04] Mertaisyl whispers something.
  28. [21:09] The teen rushed forwards in an immediately aggressive opener, flames bursting from her staff to cover the ground in fire. She ducked blasts of wind, countering with strong cosmic magic drawn from her internal connection with her star, batting away the occasional strike of holy magic. The confidence Eryn felt grew the more she struck, and the flames grew more intense, hotter as she threw them.
  29.
  30. It wasn't one sided, however. Spicegirl still managed to throw out a few good strikes, and the Drakanite could tell she'd probably have a few bruises by the fight ended. But even so, the end was clear. Ducking past a blast of magic, Eryn forced a stream of fire out of her hands with enough intensity to knock Spicegirl down, albeit not hard enough to render her unconscious or too badly burned.
  31.
  32. She danced back a few steps, returning to a combat stance of readiness. "You joined the Legion, right? Gotta see how you fight if we're gonna be comrades."
  33. (Eryn Evanstere)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [21:11] The Briar had an excellent craftsman amongst their ranks as well, who had equipped Spicegirl with her staff, as well as a magical amulet that hung around her neck which enhanced her strength. She'd still never been in a real fight, but had sparred enough to know things like when she should probably block, which came in handy, but was still not enough to take down the Drakanite.
  37.
  38. At one point, the girl did think that she stood a chance, but an unexpected beam of cosmic energy turned the tides quickly. Spicegirl received only the most minor of injuries, that her holy magic wouldn't have too much of a tough time mending and taking care of. "I understand," she said, having sparred before only for fun. "In my lifetime, fighting has always been for fun, never for my life."
  39.
  40. She was the type to joke around, and who'd wanted nothing but to have fun. "How about another one... for fun?"
  41. (Spicegirl)
  42. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  43.
  44. [21:20] The young woman was intending a second round anyways, but nodded regardless at Spicegirl's suggestion. "Beating you is fun." Just like shocking her with the collar had been, but it was probably in poor taste to mention that. In any case, the second round was an improvement for Spicegirl. Eryn was surprised but impressed as the younger teen threw much better aimed magic at her, as well as taking advantage of Eryn's aggressive style to catch her in spells with an area of effect.
  45.
  46. The Drakanite had never actually fought an Exorcist, but in the end it appeared it didn't matter, as in response to Spicegirl's improved performance Eryn doubled down, throwing vast swathes of flame whilst also toughening her skin with her innate draconic magic to stave off the worst of the attacks. Finally, a flood of cosmic magic spread across the floor, and with one final push, Eryn blasted a beam of cosmic magic to leave Spicegirl crumpled on the floor, beaten.
  47.
  48. "Hm. That was fun." the teen noted, lowering her hood.
  49. (Eryn Evanstere)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [21:23] Their battle had been a lot closer this second time around, now that she was better understanding not only how her opponent fought, but her own magical abilities as well. It was overwhelming how many different options there were in a battle, magic was such a versatile thing, creating a near infinite amount of possibilities for each clash of magi.
  53.
  54. Spicegirl felt good about herself, feeling that she was a way closer match than before. Her arms came up, seeing her opponent's attack, but not being able to avoid it, to block. The beam would knock her on her rear, but the brunt of the damage was avoided. "Enjoy it while you can," the Ookami teased.
  55.
  56. "Give me a week before I start kicking your butt."
  57. (Spicegirl)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [21:30] A laugh slipped from Eryn's lips at the boast, and she given a nonchalant shrug. "So long as you stay faithful to Dawn and the Legion, being beaten by you is something my ego can take." She walked forwards, offering the girl a hand up. Her wings retracted, returning to their usual concealed state as Eryn's staff was returned to her back.
  61.
  62. "That Holy magic is a versatile thing. The healing alone....you get better trained, and stronger, and no doubt you'll be a thing to behold on the battlefield, Spi." There, that was as close as she was going. From this day forth, the younger teen would be 'Spi' to Eryn. And whilst now the Drakanite was willing to be friendly and move past the unfortunate event that was their first interaction, she had no intention of losing a fight to Spicegirl.
  63.
  64. Mainly because the girl would probably never let her forget it.
  65. (Eryn Evanstere)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [21:43] "And faithful to Lord Azreal," Spicegirl chimed in, giving her a confident nod. "Azrael is the most benevolent, giving us the option of eternal life." One of herears twitched when Eryn called her, "Spi." Spi? That was new. It wasn't half bad, either. She kind of liked it, nothing like her experience with her earlier in the dungeons and the collar.
  69.
  70. Those kinds of things you never forget.
  71. (Spicegirl)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [21:48] The young woman stared for a few moments, then slowly answered "Mhm, Lord Azrael too." Eryn herself was of course not in fact an Azraelite, although she paid lip service to the fallen angel publically, figuring it was best to pretend than to just outwardly be agnostic. Still, her body and soul was dedicated to another particular God, and one that was not too popular at the moment from what she'd pieced together from hours of listening on a bench.
  75.
  76. "I'm glad to see you saw the light so quickly. It was a smart choice, and one that of course is far more agreeable to most in this city. I'm sure you'll serve the Morninglord with pride." Eryn seemed to be sincere, but there was some slight edge in her voice; so slight Spi might entirely miss it, but there nonetheless.
  77. (Eryn Evanstere)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [21:54] Spicegirl may or may not have picked up on a lack of enthusiasm when it came to Azreal coming from the Drakanite. She was told that everyone in Dawn worshipped him, so she found that a little different. "Hmm..." she was particularly perceptive today and decides to push a little more. "In life, and in the afterlife, I will serve Lord Azrael," she says with a false smile. Reanimation would be a fate worse than death.
  81.
  82. "Do you want to be reanimated?"
  83. (Spicegirl)
  84. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85.
  86. [22:00] Eryn's hands twitched ever so slightly at her side, and her eyes squinted slightly at the question. She considered what to say for a moment, then answered. "It was part of the oath I made when I joined the Legion." A deflection, the wording specifically avoiding a affirmative or negative response, although frankly the young woman wasn't sure why she wasn't just lying and saying yes.
  87.
  88. Truly, Eryn saw reanimation via necromancy as a form of slavery, and she believed whole heartedly in the idea of freedom, in a mildly hypocritical sense. The control that Necromancers held over those they reanimated was anathema to that concept.
  89. (Eryn Evanstere)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [22:02] * You have been awarded 2 Roleplay Points! *
  93. [22:05] Spicegirl completely misses any signs that Eryn is uncomfortable at the idea of reanimation, or even that she isn't the biggest Azrealite, even with the deflection. "Oh, I see." She said, completely dropping the subject. "What do you do besides be a soldier?"
  94. (Spicegirl)
  95. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  96.
  97. [22:12] Ah, a question the young woman could actually answer semi-honestly. "I'm a blacksmith, and a runescribe." she answered proudly, unslinging her staff as holding it out, although with her hands wrapped around it enough to suggest that trying to remove it from her hands would be a bad idea. "I made this myself, see." She tilted her head at the creator's signature on the staff, two Es in a circle where one could take hold of it with one hand and still effectively use it.
  98.
  99. The staff itself was well made, forged from pure mythril, with the exception of the orichalcum filling several grooves carved in the shape of runes; the basic work required to make the weapon capable of challenging magic. However, the orichalcum just below the focusing crystal raised in several shapes that formed the additional runes required for increase magical power, and increased channelling efficiency for pyromancy.
  100.
  101. Yeah, Eryn was proud as shit when it came to this staff, considering it was still the only one of its kind that she'd made. "I call it Meridian."
  102. (Eryn Evanstere)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [22:19] Honestly, the Ookami thought that was a little bit... boring. Make weapons. From what she understood it took days, even months, to make one weapon sometimes. She'd pass on that. "O-Oh..." She muttered under her breath, "I like to do things like hunt, and sometimes I cook." Spicegirl shared, continuing, "I like traveling... and..." ouch. Now that she was bound to dawn she couldn't really do her favorite things anymore. "Making friends..."
  106. (Spicegirl)
