Sonic Movie Plot 2019

Missing the old days of saving the city from Egg-man, Sonic (Ben Schwartz) is stuck doing commercials for fast food. At a conference he finds out he is being replaced by Sonic Man (Jaleel White),Sonic is extremely upset and is promptly fired. Security guard and former local sheriff Tom (James Marsden) is asked to escort Sonic off the studio lot, but the ensuing chase leads to the Crazy Taxi crashing through sets including one for Space Channel 5, and then demolishing the entire Studiopolis. Tom is also fired in the process, and returns home with Sonic hitching a ride, discovering his father (Pierce Brosnan), the current sheriff of his hometown, is actually a GUN agent. His dad instructs his son to travel to Casinopolis, and find Sonic's ex girlfriend Amy Rose, and gain the second Chaos Emerald, he transmits the first Chaos Emerald to Tom before being captured by Egg-Man (Jim Carrey), who had escaped from prison secretly, and has an Egg-Robo take his place. Tom and Sonic head to Casinopolis. Meanwhile, Tails' (Noah Schnapp) is struggling acting with his new co-star, and is sent to rehire Sonic. Tails goes into his Tornado and flies off on chase.

In Casinopolis, Sonic and Tom meet Amy (Kristen Schaal) but notice they are being watched by the dealer. Amy offers the Emerald in place of a kiss but Sonic denies her and she decides to give it anyways, but when the Dealer reveals himself to be a southern robot built by Egg-Man named HOW-D, the duo try to escape and meet up with Tails, who helps them escape. The Tornado runs out of fuel and crashes in the hot desert known as Dust Hill, but after Tom accidentally presses a button he find on a rock, the trio fall into an underground facility made by Egg-Man filled with experiments and robots, they find a computer screen which shows them footage of Egg-Man's plan, to transform the entire living populous into robots that he can control. Metal Sonic, imprisoned in the facility, escapes and leads a group of other robots to obtain the Chaos Emerald, but the heroes escape with an extra one Tails had found in a glass casing. Tails using a Chaos Emerald tracker in the Tornado sees that the next emerald is in Angel Island, so they head off in the newly fueled plane.

Sonic, Tails, & Tom come to the Island but are ambushed by Knuckles, and a fight ensues before Tom quickly calms things down. Knuckles complains to Sonic that while Sonic was having fun with celebrities he was stuck guarding the Master Emerald and actually have proper responsibilities. A claw slowly steals the Master Emerald from behind the crew and when Knuckles notices it gone he freaks out. They realize that Egg-Man is heading back to Tom's hometown of Green Hill and the 4 chase after him.

In the town the crew search around as Knuckles angrily interrogates anyone around him about the missing Emerald. Tom meets his old sheriff partner Linda (Tika Sumpter) who tells him about signals she has been sensing under the Donuts Shop. Sonic, Tails, Tom, Knuckles, and Linda go inside and realize all the cops were actually Egg-Robos in disguise. They pull a lever and the crew are trapped in a prison. Egg-Man reveals himself and taunts the heroes, he tries getting the Chaos Emeralds out of them to no avail. Knuckles angrily breaks free and punches Egg-Man before realizing that it was another Trap, and all the Chaos Emeralds were sucked out of the crews hands.

Metal returns and is sent to the Death Egg to insert all 6 Chaos Emeralds to emit the beam around the world to turn everyone, except Egg-Man, into mindless robots. Tom and Linda save Tom's dad from imprisonment, whilst Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles pursue Metal into space. Tails and Knuckles are knocked away easily, prompting Sonic to try and grab the Emeralds, after much effort he finally uses their energy to become Super Sonic, and destroy the Death Egg. The transforming energy beam goes off only to strike Egg-Man, changing him into the Death Egg Robot.

The Robot bursts through the Donuts Shop and reeks havoc on Green Hill, when suddenly local towns people as well as Amy start helping by throwing rocks and other objects at the Death Egg Robot. The Death Egg Robot, is about to step on a child before Super Sonic blasts through his chest causing him to blow up. Egg-Man falls to the ground and is apprehended by police and curses out Sonic's name. Tom gets a kiss from Linda and realizes he wants to go back to being a sheriff, and asks Sonic what he will do now. Sonic replies that he will stay in Green Hill and help out just in case Egg-Man inevitably escapes. At the end Sonic is seen sitting on the Tornado with Knuckles and Tails, as they carry the Master Emerald back to Angel Island.

In a post credits seen, the underground facility from the desert is shown to be destroyed. From one of the tubes a Shadowy figure is shown floating, when suddenly their eyes open, with Red pupils flashing. This hints at Shadows involvement in the sequel.
