Chapter 29-Final Part

After dinner, I bow my head.

"Itadakimasu.", I reply.

Tsundere-kun's dad asks me, "Do you have to go anytime soon? You can stay a bit longer, if you want."

I check my phone, still having a couple of hours to spare.

"I still have time.", I tell him.

"Hey, works for me. Why don't you go show him your game collection?", he says to Tsundere-kun.

Tsundere-kun grabs my hand, and drags me up the stairs to his bedroom.

It was a nearly empty room with a closet and bathroom next to it.

There was a TV with an old game console hooked up to it, a futon, and a worn out extra wide beanbag chair that could fit two people.

"Your room is...", I start to say, except couldn't find the words.

"Nearly empty? Yes, I know.", Tsundere-kun says.

"I can't afford a lot, so I have to make do with this. I don't mind it that much, really.", he finishes.

He then pulls out a racing game cartridge.

"Wanna play this?", he says, with a devilish grin.

I never had a lot of time to play them, but I was always a master at video games, always winning against others during every arcade visit.

"You're on.", I reply.

He then goes on to beat me at every game we play for over a hour.

"That was fun!", he says, unaware of me looking down in shock with so many anger veins popping that I couldn't see straight.

(HOW? I WAS SO CONFIDENT THAT HE WAS JUST AVERAGE! HOW DID I LOSE THIS BADLY!?), I think to myself in disbelief.

"Cheer up. After all, I am the best in the family.", he says, with a cheerful grin.

Looking at his cute smile calmed me down.

Afterwards, we sit on the balcony outside the back of the restaurant as the sun sets.

"You know, for the time that has passed, we got to know each other a lot.", I say to him.

"Y-Yeah.", he says, sitting next to me with a shade of pink on his face.

"You know, about what my dad said...", he continues.

"Hm?", I say, looking at him.

"He was right. I never thought that I could be attracted to anyone other than Saya-chan, but it seems like I'm in love with you, too.", he finishes.

"I had a feeling that's what all of this was about.", I deduce.

"My mom would probably flip if she had came home by now. For all I know, she despises the mere concept of same gender relationships.", he says.

He then sighs heavily.

"I really want to be with Saya-chan, but she doesn't even know that her precious childhood friend Miri-chan is still alive.", he says.

The sun sets even further.

He then starts to blush hard and fidgets his fingers.

"H-h-hey, I have a request, if you don't mind. Since Saya-chan is out of the question, and you don't seem like the kind of person that would be against it, i-is it okay if we....w-we....", he starts to say.

He clears his throat, then looks away.

"...you know, dated?", finishing his sentence.

I wasn't against dating someone I once hated, but have now come to accept as a good friend, male or female.

"Part of my job is solving problems.", I say with a smile.

Tsundere-kun laughs so hard, he starts crying.

"PFFT! How can you say that with such a straight face? Ahahaha!", he says.

After he calms himself, wiping his tears, he shifts his rear to face me so he doesn't lose his balance, puts his hand on top of mine, leans upward, and kisses my cheek.

"You smell like cheese.", I say to him.

"And now you do, baka.", he says, winking and licking his lips.

Hana comes out from nowhere and jumps on Tsundere-kun from the back, startling him.

"What are you doing out here!?", he exclaims.

"No fair! Oniichan is mine!", his imouto says, angrily pouting as she looks up at me.

"Calm down. I am both of yours now.", he says, picking up his sister, and hugging her.

"Yo.", his dad calls to me.

"It's about time to hit the road, eh?", he finishes.

"Hai. Arigatou gozaimasu.", I say to him.

"No problem. Happy to have had ya here today.", he says, grinning.

"Well, I wasn't!", the bratty imouto interjects, still pouting at me.

"No one asked you!", Tsundere-kun says to her.

"That's right. Also, isn't it your bedtime?", the dad says.

"But Daddy!~", she tries to say, but was only met with "GO.", as an answer from him.

She storms inside.

I chuckle a little.

"Not a good first impression, huh?", I say.

"Sorry for my little sister. She can be a handful sometimes.", Tsundere-kun says nervously, scratching his cheek with a finger.

"She'll be fine. She ALWAYS acts that way around people she doesn't know, the little rat.", his dad says, facepalming.

I stand up, and say to them, "Thank you again for this.", bowing my head again, as I climb down.

"See you at school tomorrow! Have a good night!", Tsundere-kun shouts as I walk off.

"You too, 'sweetie'!", I shout back.

The dad rolls his eyes at this exchange as Tsundere-kun sits alone on the balcony.
