  1. Cicero cos Morneau says, ".. Hi."
  2. Astrid says, "Hi."
  3. Nero says, "...hey there."
  4. Cicero cos Morneau says, ".. uhhh.."
  5. Astrid asks, "Who are you?"
  6. Cicero cos Morneau says, "C-Cicero cos Morneau, miss."
  7. Astrid says, "--Oh. My friend works for your family.. as a fuckin' maid."
  8. Astrid says, "You better be paying her well."
  9. Cicero cos Morneau says, ".. I don't believe that's, uhm.. t-the job title."
  10. Cicero cos Morneau says, ".. just 'maid'.."
  11. With how timid this lad was, it was hard to tell if he was being cheeky with that remark or actually serious.
  12. (Cicero cos Morneau)
  13. Astrid was at a loss of words to say, in truth, to his statement.
  14. (Astrid)
  15. Cicero cos Morneau drops Ruby Scepter.
  16. Nero says, "..."
  17. Astrid whispers: I hate this guy already.
  18. Cicero cos Morneau has enchanted the Ruby Scepter!
  19. Nero just tilts his head over to the side, staring.
  20. (Nero)
  21. Cicero cos Morneau picks up Ruby Scepter.
  22. Nero whispers: I think he's dumb.
  23. Cicero cos Morneau asks, ".. w-was it not funny?"
  24. Nero says, "Oh."
  25. Astrid stares at him with a hard, nerfarious look.
  26. (Astrid)
  27. Astrid says, "This is my friend you're talking about. So, no. Not funny."
  28. Nero says, "So, like... you actually meant it as a joke-"
  29. Nero says, "Oh."
  30. Cicero cos Morneau asks, "Who is your friend?"
  31. Astrid says, "Indranil."
  32. Astrid says, "She's a drakanite."
  33. Cicero cos Morneau exclaims, "Oh!"
  34. Cicero cos Morneau says, "Yes, uh.. I hired her myself."
  35. Nero says, "Ah..."
  36. Nero cranes his neck, gaze drifting towards the Kitsune beside him- half worried as to whatever reaction that might follow.
  37. (Nero)
  38. "Hm, is that so?" Her tone bares aggression, allowing the rush of waters to accompany her, yet only a cold slosh of waves could be heard, albeit intangible, as if the mana reserves of the Kitsune are expended in a manner that's not entirely complete, though just beginning amongst the dotted vapors of the atmosphere.
  39.
  40. Her manner is anything but pleasant.
  41.
  42. Astrid strides forward in a graceful manner as the mana develops into smooth gliding waters, collecting upon the slender hydro appendages crafted of her command; a storm brewing upon the sea of sentiments bubbling to the surface within her exposing.
  43.
  44. She nears the noble boy slowly..
  45.
  46. "I guess I'll let you on a secret then about her, and me." Abrasively spoken as she continues to near him, just approximately a meter or two away from his position.
  47.
  48. "In your line of work, Noble, I expect you never to call her a slave. For you see what I can use, hm?" It's in those moments, the more she closes the distance it could be felt, the palpable release of rapidly decreasing temperatures of an eerily cold disposition.
  49.
  50. And one reaches out ever so gingerly towards the noble boy towards his cheek. If he's to back away, then she would step off into his direction or allow that tendril to reach towards him..
  51.
  52. "Or if you ever hurt that girl, just remember.. her best friend is a bit overprotective, and not afraid to drown someone.
  53.
  54. Are we clear?" A hiss to the finality of those words as she cranes her neck forward towards him expectantly. She was not looking for a fight, but to merely make him aware of the consequences that would ever come should she find Indra in negative emotion from their family- for any given reason.
  55. (Astrid)
  56. Astrid says, "**huh"
  57. You have left private mode, your last white-text and RP will be visible to other players for 30 minutes after posting.
  58. Sain whispers something.
  59. Nero whispers something.
  60. You have entered private mode, your last white-text and RP will not be visible to others.
  61. The young noble looked baffled, and quite frankly, fucking terrified. Oblivious of what he had done to deserve this, but he knew that it had to have been something. It was always something. The lad frowned deeply as Astrid's magic was used to threaten him.
  62.
  63. "I-I.." he sputtered out, swallowing. "I feel like.. y-you've made, uhm.. you've made.. a lot of assumptions about my character!" he squeaked. Cicero was sure that this was just one big misunderstanding, and that clarifying would clear everything up.
  64.
  65. "I.. o-offered her the job, because.. I heard that she didn't have a home, and.. and, uh.. I wanted to help her." he made clear that the employment was done out of the kindness of his own heart. It was with this preface that he could make the next statement confidently.
  66.
  67. "I would never consider anyone a slave. A-And.. I'd never hurt her, I only wanted to help her." he finished. His hand inched back slightly, in the direction of his staff. He had reason to feel threatened right now, on edge by Astrid's behavior.
  68.
  69. ".. okay?"
  70. (Cicero cos Morneau)
  71. Levi would be strolling through this area like usually going to a near tree spot to harvest some more wood as he just watched a male get pressed by a female. Something about slavery and bestfriends. Weird enough he started to write down notes, seeing a person glide by with water t confront the man. He'd start to mumble...
  72.
  73.
  74. "Not the lighting person.... Where could they possibly be?"
  75.
  76. Levi said out loud still having a weird gig saying some of his thoughts out loud.
  77. (Levi Harris)
  78. Just standing there by the red haired one's side, he didn't really say much throughout the exchange. Instead, the boy simply rocks back and forth, hands made to rest about the back of his head, supporting him so all the while. A faint, barely audible whistle does escape soon after, however.
  79.
  80. Amused, if anything.
  81.
  82. Still, when the younger noble's hand slightly shifts towards that staff of his, only then does Nero take a single step forward, then another, boots clanking against that path underneath, all the way until he's a little bit behind the Kitsune there.
  83.
  84. "See? He's a good boy-"
  85.
  86. Another pause amidst the tiny smile which laces his features now. And then, a single hand is made to briefly plop down onto her shoulder.
  87.
  88. "Think no one would fancy a street brawl, though. Leave the spooked kid be?"
  89. (Nero)
  90. That stare never leaves the Noble's own, even as he opts to reach for that staff of his. The girl merely stands her ground as if he'd been willing to attack by any second. So too would she create one of her own, and yet...
  91.
  92. That tendril of bladed water, born of this one's aggressive, still stretches forth towards Cicero's cheek, gentle touching upon the skin there or pursuing if he moved.
  93.
  94. And if it's to make contact, then he could easily distinguish its incredibly cold use that's kindred to the girl's disposition. Bubbling, nefarious in all manners, yet all it does is make a light incision upon his cheek and drag- one or two inches before it retracts entirely.
  95.
  96. "Good. Then I expect her to be taken well care of by you and your people, otherwise I'll find more ways than one to let the tides take ahold of you." Symbolism- so much of it tied upon that coupled with her cognition as those slender hydromancy formed assets dissolve away back amongst the nightly airs.
  97.
  98. It was easy for any to understand what it meant to be overprotective of your friends, even going to any length it took for one to ensure their happiness, such as Indra's own. And Astrid was quite on top with that.
  99.
  100. "You might get to see me more often then, Noble. I'm sure you and I can be great friends, hm?" Her silver eyes retract towards the hand upon her shoulder, lay there by Nero. "Yeah; for now." And that's all the edged Kitsune had to reply- if nothing more should happen then she'd opt to follow behind Nero.
  101. (Astrid)
  102. Yami came outside after being unable to rest. He looked at the woman before him, that was the same one with the bunny man the other night. No tendrils about, she was probably calmer than that day.
  103.
  104. The boy then looks to the guy she was talking to, he'd seen him often. He wonders about the 'slave' he had. Perhaps she was exaggerating, he did say he hired her.
  105.
  106. He puts his hands into his pockets and heads off. This wasn't what he wanted to see.
  107. (Yami Kurokaiyo)
  108. Remei knocked on Lionel's pot helmet.
  109. (Remei)
  110. Lionel holds his pot-helmet with both his hands as he comes up onto the scene.
  111. (Lionel Leigherty)
  112. Calciphier Fooma whispers: A noble?
  113. Indranil walks over beside Sain.
  114. (Indranil Vihreä)
  115. Calciphier Fooma whispers: What's going on here?
  116. Nero whispers: ...who even are you?
  117. Calciphier Fooma whispers: Just a priest... Looking to make sure everything's alright. Don't take to nobles very well anyways... Lookin' to make sure he's not talkin' down to anyone.
  118. Astrid whispers: A noble. Yeah. He's not talking down anyone. He hired my friend as his maid.
  119. The tendril made an incision on Cicero's cheek, causing him to flinch. Although, he didn't make any further attempt to reach for his staff. He lowered his hand to his side, recognizing that Astrid had no intent to actually break out into a street brawl. And, he knew that he was safe. Attacking a noble unprovoked was bad news!
  120.
  121. "I-I, uh.. I'm not going to hurt Indranil, jeeze." he murmured, reaching up to feel at the small cut on his cheek. Holy magic flickered to life at his finger, mending the skin and smoothing it over without so much as a scar.
  122.
  123. "If.. y-you spent less time, uhm.. assuming the worst of me, and.. s-spent more time being nice, maybe we could be friends!" he huffed.
  124. (Cicero cos Morneau)
  125. Astrid whispers: I'm just making sure he gets the point that he'd better make sure she's well taken care of, or else.
  126. Calciphier Fooma whispers: Oh, I see. I think that's lovely.
  127. The airs about the Kitsune's atmosphere still shake with that unrelenting force of hostility, as if the very dots of vapor dancing along to her interior rhythms of pumping adrenaline; still building akin to a storm amongst the sea.
  128.
  129. Yet, with that such disposition against the one before them, all they could take view of are the palpable, heavy breaths from that rush conjured up in the heat of the moment- frosted airs for how sheer and immense that demeanor within her was.
  130.
  131. Flakes of light frost could be viewed falling sporadically around her- a push towards what defines this little woman of her own characteristics, for how she felt about those close to her and what clear perspective was purely held against those alike Cicero.
  132.
  133. "I don't make friends with you Nobles. Most of you are disgusting things." She barks out with a light huff of that still frosted air. "But maybe for you I might make an exception then." A bit of recoil in how she's acted thus far towards him, but still willing to pierce one with the arctic waters if need be.
  134.
  135. And so, with that snarky bit out of the way, save for.. a finger pointing at her cheek, the girl still addresses him. "You have something here, by the way. Just to let you know-" Within a few passing seconds, the airs enveloping the abrasive kitsune arise in temperature. "I'll be checking in on it soon, however. Her job and all, and a paid visit to you. Expect me soon, I guess." With that, Astrid turns away, not regarding any of those who'd come present to witness her actions and hostility.
  136. (Astrid)
  137. Lisa tiptoes by, because she has no idea what is going on...
  138. (Lisa Bell)
  139. Astrid whispers: Very much so. She means the world to me, even if she works for... /these/ people.
  140. It was always unsettling for Cicero when he was treated with hostility just for being born how he was. While he acknowledged that he was incredibly privileged, he didn't ever ask to be. And while he took pride in his family and their legacy, he didn't enjoy the ugly looks and mean-spirited comments that came with it.
  141.
  142. Cicero shuddered slightly, shivering as he held his coat close to his body. The magic that Astrid used to make her point wasn't only intimidating, it was also quite cold! He wasn't dressed for this kind of weather. He hadn't anticipated for it to snow today.
  143.
  144. "W-Well, uh.. I'm.. glad to hear that.. ??" he murmured in response to Astrid saying that she'd make an exception, although his tone sounded like more of a question near the end. The young woman before her was very confusing, he concluded.
  145.
  146. "You're welcome to visit, but, uh.. d-don't use your magic in a threatening manner like that, if y-you're there. The guards may tackle you." he warned.
  147. (Cicero cos Morneau)
  148. Indranil Vihreä says, "Or I'LL tackle you."
  149. "Doubtful, Indra," she says, glancing back after Cicero finishes speaking. She's quick to whirl around towards the drakanite, greeting her with an utmost friendly grin! Though, as she peeks over her shoulder towards Cicero, she speaks one fine time.
  150.
  151. "You can expect that I won't use my magics, unless it's necessary." A scoff then as her eyes drift towards Nero, closing briefly there. "Tea sounds nice and relaxing. You can tell me more about yourself." There'd be more Astrid could say, although she opts out of it.
  152.
  153. Surely Cicero had a grasp on the expectations of the Kitsune now. A smile is paid towards him. "Do have a wonderful rest of your night then," she says. The demeanor is friendly, though subtly sarcastic in the way she speaks with it.
  154.
  155. And so she turns towards Nero now, finally allowing the situation to settle and airs to come back towards their near normal status, albeit the touch of winter still stays around her, even if minor to its own degree.
  156. (Astrid)
  157. [21:56] Cicero was able to ease the tensions between the two, thankfully. Or, so he perceived. The status he held had a lot of expectations that came with it, whether that be positive or negative. It got to the point where he neglected giving people his last name if he needed to, or if he was in a place where revealing his identity would be dangerous.
  158.
  159. In this situation, he did. And, he paid the price. Or, maybe not. He did manage to make Astrid change to a more friendly demeanor, so that was good. The boy smiled back at Astrid, although his expression seemed much more anxious than her own.
  160.
  161. "Of course, uhm.. y-you too." the timid noble sputtered out, before beginning to slowly step away. But, he didn't turn around. He walked backwards, still looking right at Astrid as he paced.
  162. (Cicero cos Morneau)
  163. [21:56] Cicero cos Morneau says, ".. ok, bye."
