- **Q: Why did you release this so late? Also, what is the point of upmixing audio to 5.1?**
- A: A lot of factors went into making this release so late, including unceremonious data loss from my seedbox, loss of motivation, my own career, and problems in my personal life that you probably don't wanna hear about. I've been through a lot last year, but I'm happy to report that the rest of the volumes won't be delayed any further (at least I hope so). Also, upmixing to 5.1 is a personal choice for me. It has always bugged me how other anime in the genre like *Fullmetal Alchemist* got proper BluRays with 5.1 audio, yet we were stuck with stereo, interlaced BluRays. Basically, what you need to know is, Digimon is a passion project for me. My buddy BFT shares in this passion, which is why it is an honour for me to be working with him.
- **Q: I noticed some timing issues with the subs in episode 6. Did you know about this? Can you fix it?**
- A: Episode 6 was a speedsub. I wanted to get the release out within 24 hours of announcing that I had almost finished it, within 12 hours if possible. I *can* fix them, but these are extremely minor timing issues that only affect a segment of the episode, so I am inclined not to.
- **Q: I heard some talk on the Judas Discord server that you used QTGMC. Why didn't you just inverse telecine it? Also, why is this release at 29.97 fps? Ugh.**
- A: The short answer is, QTGMC was the easiest and most hassle-free method to get rid of the annoying telecining from QTEC's upscale (i.e. the BluRays). The longer and more complicated answer is, it didn't occur to us that the material could have been telecined. The thing about Digimon is that it uses two different framerates for CGI and 2D animation (at least the older series), and the only way for QTEC to get that correctly on BluRay was seemingly 1080i 29.97 fps. The increased framerate should not affect your viewing experience. In fact, if we were to hazard a guess, what is going on in with our release is, interpolation of fields with some amount of decimation, resulting in a loss of visible combing artifacts. Because we've already started releasing this series at this particular framerate, we are NOT going to backtrack and redo it in 23.976 fps. We are going to continue with releasing Tamers in 1080p progressive 29.97 fps. The average viewer won't even notice the difference. Don't like it? Don't watch it.
- **Q: You announced on your Telegram channel that you were going to start a Patreon. What is the status on that?**
- A: I created the page, but I have decided that it is in everyone's best interests that I don't ask for donations at all. It's annoying to people who just come to download free anime, and nobody even donates anyway. Hence, as of this moment, none of my future torrents will have a donation address, on both Nyaa and ETTV. Instead, I'll be periodically uploading content lost from the seedbox to Drive and other filehosting services, and ensure that my releases are available everywhere: shared teamdrives, Usenet, etc., but probably not IRC for the time being.
- **Q: Why is this dubbed over raw? Why not dual-audio?**
- A: For many people, the English dub has a lot of nostalgia value, but no company has yet tried to adapt the JPBDs into the Saban versions of the old seasons. Regarding dual-audio, BFT and I found it was easier to recut the BluRay to match the English dub than the other way around. As far as dual-audio releases are concerned, I had hoped to at least create a version with the Japanese audio and the Singapore dub, but RenRei00's uploads seem to have vanished from Bitchute and SharePoint. If anyone ever finds them, please do the needful and upload them. I shall then create a dual-audio torrent using them and CXRAW's release.
- **Q: Why QTGMC the BluRays? Why not just use CXRAW's release?**
- A: Reencoding from a lossy source results in lossy content overall. CXRAW also encoded the BDMVs. However, reencoding an already HEVC release is sacrilege in the encoding community, and so we chose to work with the BDMVs.
