- Taking Care Of A Wounded Super Hero by SilentThyzer
- *Note*: Throughout the script the super hero is referred to as "he" in the brackets, but the actual spoken portion is completely gender neutral.
- (Loud, slow banging on the door)
- I'll be right there!
- (She opens the door)
- (Angry) Hmph, YOU have a lot of explaining to do.
- I thought you said you'd always be back by eleven. It's one in the-
- (She notices deep wounds on his body)
- (Shocked) Oh my god! What the hell happened to you?!
- (Panicked/Rushed) Never mind, you can tell me later. Come inside, quick before someone sees you.
- (Door closes)
- (Worried) Oh, you look terrible. Here lean on me so I can walk you to the couch.
- (He resists)
- (Annoyed/Concerned) Oh, you can walk on your own?
- Look at you. You can barely take a step! Please, just let me help.
- That's it, get your arm over my shoulders. Not so hard right?
- (Grunting/Struggling) My god you're heavy. Just a few more steps and...
- (He flops down onto the couch, she lets out a big sigh of relief)
- Alright, you stay here and try not to move too much.
- I'll be back as soon as I can with a first-aid kit and something to drink.
- (Pause, performer may include some sounds of her rummaging through cupboards in the background)
- First thing's first, let's get that suit off.
- Hold on, let me just find the seam...there it is.
- (She slowly removes the torso section of the suit to reveal his scarred back)
- (Caring) Oh, sweetie...how did this happen to you?
- Look, I'm happy you're willing to use your powers to go out and fight bad guys.
- And sure, I can handle seeing you come home with a few cuts and bruises, but this? This is honestly terrifying.
- How did low life thugs manage to do this to you anyway?
- (Surprised) A super villain? Wait, you fought another person with actual super powers? I thought you were the only one.
- Looks like they really did a number on you.
- (Joking/Giggly) Well, as long as you kicked his ass, I'm happy.
- Now let me get the mask off.
- Mmm, you look so much better when I can see that beautiful face.
- (She gives him a kiss on the forehead)
- (Gentle) Try to relax your muscles and take deep breaths.
- It's ok to be scared, but you're safe now, I'll be here all night to take care of you.
- That's it, rest your head on the pillow while I bandage you up. Nobody's trying to hurt you anymore.
- You're safe with me.
- (Pause)
- I'm gonna apply some ointment first, so this might sting a little.
- Shhh, sshhhh, I know it hurts, but you've gotta stay still. I can't put it on properly if you're squirming all over the place.
- Just a little more...almost finished.
- Aaaaaand done!
- (Playful/Joking) Oh shush, you'll be fine. It can't feel much worse than it already does.
- (She giggles)
- Now to get some bandages over your wounds.
- Sit up please, I'll be just a sec.
- (She starts to wrap his chest and back in bandages)
- So tell me, what was this super villain like?
- Did he have you tied up while he made some drawn out monologue about how he'll take over the world once his death ray charges?
- (Pause)
- Oh, he was just a guy robbing a store...
- Well that's no fun.
- How about his powers, what were they like?
- A shape-shifter. And he turned into you during the fight?
- (Uncomfortable) Hmm, that's...kinda creepy.
- Oh well, knowing you, I'm sure you didn't back down.
- (Affectionate) Aww, I'm so proud of you.
- (She gives him a kiss on the cheek)
- Alright, bandages are done. I'm no surgeon, but it'll do.
- I've got you a couple painkiller tablets and I've boiled some water so I can make you a cup of tea.
- (She pours some water into a mug with tea leaves, sound effect would work well here)
- You don't have to drink it all, but I want you to take a few sips.
- Trust me, it'll be good for you.
- (He sips the tea)
- There you go, and don't forget the painkillers, they're kind of important.
- What do ya say, I make some pretty good tea right?
- (Joking/Sarcastic) You're so lucky to have such a talented girlfriend.
- (She laughs)
- Hold on, you can't be rolling around like that, you have to conserve your strength.
- Sweetie, I know you're stressed and all, but you seriously need to lie still.
- Wait a minute, let me sit next to you.
- (Some ruffling as she moves to sit next to him)
- Now put your head on my lap.
- There, doesn't that feel better?
- (Gentle) Sssshh, it's ok.
- Don't worry about me, I like being your lap pillow. I'll be here as long as you need me. I'm not going anywhere.
- You look so cute with your head resting on my thighs.
- There's something about having someone so strong being vulnerable with me that just feels...so nice.
- I can't explain it, but seeing you all hurt like this makes me wanna take care of you until you're all better.
- Try not to think about fighting crime right now.
- I honestly think you need a break after this. You're so concerned about helping other people, and I love that about you. But you can't spread yourself so thin.
- You need to take care of yourself first, or at least let me do it for you.
- (Happy) I've got the day off tomorrow so I can spend aaalll day taking care of you.
- I'll make you breakfast in bed, pancakes, bacon, eggs and some coffee with extra sugar.
- And of course, LOTS of hugs and kisses.
- (She giggles and kisses him on the forehead)
- I'll wash your costume and stitch up all the holes from the fight. And when your scars are all healed then you can get back out there and beat up more bad guys.
- (Calm/Gentle) For now I need you to rest.
- It's ok to close your eyes, you must be exhausted.
- That's it. Let your whole body relax and drift off to sleep.
- (Pause)
- Good night, my adorable little crime fighter.
