  1. [05:21:04] Traveller by nature, Saulot was roaming throughout entire Valmasia for almost his entire life. Still chased by the past, both figuratevily and literally, he'd get into Nostvale and New Alteros ocasionally for re-supply and some rest from the road, but now it wasn't the case. His roads took him through the forests of Bygone, perhaps heading once more to Nostvale to uphold the constant movement - those that chased him had to be left no chance to actually catch up to him.
  2.
  3. And the fact that he was a honed traveller was quite apparent judging by his appearance; the mantle that covered his armor and the well-made, attractive cloth underneath had patches of dirt at the bottom, a clear testimony of being always on the move. His gaze was always on guard as well, knowing all too well that any sort of road could have potential dangers to it, and a slightly weary look. After all, constantly staying in the wilderness was putting it's own effect upon him, regardless of getting used to it.
  4.
  5. But despite of that, there was an undeniable presence of nobility to him; the way he walked, stood, and even simply appeared - it all struck an impression of belonging to a higher caste of sort. But what in the world would someone who is of noble blood be doing in this forest, especially this age?
  6.
  7. Perhaps conveniently, he was making his way through this part of the forest.
  8. (Saulot Vykos)
  9. [05:27:02] Saulot Vykos: (u there?)
  10. [05:30:27] Rin: (Yeah, IRL, one moment)
  11. [05:31:18] Saulot Vykos: (take ur time)
  12. [05:45:48] Sometimes fate was kind. Sometimes fate was a cruel mistress.
  13.
  14. A few panicked screams would come from the forest brush. The screams of men. Many were quickly extinguished, and they proved to be ominously close, as a man who appeared to be a bandit of some sort came rushing out of the brush near Saulot with a look of sheer fear upon his face. He didn't get far, before something shot out of the brush behind him, tearing clean through his back piercing through his ribs as if he were made of paper.
  15.
  16. It appeared to be a tentacle of some sort. It wrapped itself around his chest, and pulled him back into the forest's depths. There was a gruesome crunch; and then naught but silence.
  17.
  18. Then, a small girl would step into view. She was short, even for her age, coming up to 4'2" in height. Yet, her presence was that of sheer evil. Her right arm was made of flayed flesh and muscle, exposed bone was showcased and the scent of death was carried upon the air. From it rose innumerable tentacles of varying shapes and sizes - She was a Malpercian, and that much would be clear to anyone at a glance, her violet hair and eyes only proving her heritage further.
  19.
  20. She would smile wickedly at Saulot. "Those men were so focused upon ambushing you that they never even suspected that they were no longer the hunters."
  21. (Rin)
  22. [05:54:20] That was... an odd encounter, to say for the very least. Startled at first by the screams, which prompted him to take the guard stance, he only saw one of the men to rush and gasp for his life, if only to have it ended within the same seconds. Although experienced magi by now who had encountered much, this sort of tentacle was barely familiar to him... but at least he knew what he's dealing with, to some extent.
  23.
  24. Eyeying the girl before him, his brow was arched; that was quite an entrance made by her if anything, and the arm she had made it, well... if not much of a charmer, she'd leave a memory of herself just fine.
  25.
  26. But the startled state of his soon faded and he regained his composure to stand straight with his tall physique which was well at 6'1''. He couldn't help but gaze upon the arm, or at least throw a brief glance at it to observe it better, though to not come off rude, he soon switched his gaze back to her.
  27.
  28. Manners, where are they? Of course. He was a noble after all, and even after meeting such kind of a... person, she did kill the bandits that were going to ambush him, regardless. With a bow of his head in nod to express acknowledgement of the fact and gratitude, he spoke to her:
  29.
  30. "I bid my greetings, and I thank you for this assistance. Certainly they would've caused me trouble, if not for your intervention."
  31.
  32. There was something in his voice, the sweet eloquence of a well mannered and educated young lord. Inspiring even. Not to mention there was quite an eerie sensation to him, bearing mana enriched circuits of a practiced magi.
  33. (Saulot Vykos)
  34. [06:15:40] "You're an idiot." Rin would reply rather bluntly. "Traveling alone; dressed as you are. Magi or not, you're asking for trouble in this region."
  35.
  36. Well, she wasn't wrong at the very least. Bandits were well known to act in the Bygonegrove, it was almost as infamous as the Sarab desert for their robberies. The limb of the girl focused upon Saulot, and she smiled. "You also made the assumption that I was saving you. Well, saving you for seconds, maybe."
  37.
  38. She'd lick her lips. It was quite clear that she was intending to sacrifice Saulot, just as she had the bandits who had been planning to kill him. Two birds with a single stone as they said. "I wonder just how you'll scream..."
  39. (Rin)
  40. [06:21:39] Seems that the manners and nice approach did not work here. He fixed his gaze upon Rin, with a visible frown upon his face - it's clear that she's not up for any good, and with that on his mind,he stared her down to possibly read through how she'd attack, if at all. But with that, he also spoke:
  41.
  42. "Don't try it. I do not wish to harm you, but you're pushing your luck."
  43.
  44. It's as if his sweet demeanor faded as quick as the lives of those poor bastards whom she just slain. If anything, he wouldn't wish to engage in needless combat, but he wouldn't just turn himself in either, for as long as he's capable of defending himself.
  45.
  46. "This still can avoid turning into a bad day for one of us. Re-think it, or else you leave me no choice."
  47.
  48. But Saulot had little hope she'd actually listen. No, in fact, he was certain she was going to attack, the question is how and when exactly?
  49. (Saulot Vykos)
  50. [06:30:11] "Do you actually think you could best me?" She'd giggle at the mere jest. This girl exuded power and confidence, and she was clearly unintimidated by Saulot's words. "Honestly, are all nobles the same? They always try to act so confident. That's why they are the most delicious..."
  51.
  52. The grotesque limb would shift, a mixed array of teeth and eyes sprouting from the tentacles. "I'm going to savor every expression you make. I'm going to taste your confidence turn to fear, your terror as you beg and writhe in agony. It won't be like those bandits. Those were a quick snack."
  53.
  54. "You? You're a meal." With that, the deadly tentacles would surge forward, threatening to grab him and tear him apart, attacking from multiple directions simultaneously.
  55. (Rin)
  56. [06:32:44] The words were pointless at this point, and he saved his breath for the battle itself. Merely visualizing a spell in his mind for a keener control as she spoke, he was certain that there's no way the fight would be avoided. Casually grasping upon the staff, he kept his gaze upon her.
  57.
  58. But it didn't seem like she'd give him much time. One of the tentacles surged upon him, though gladly - and perhaps suprisingly - the noble was devout of lightning, and managed to blink away in an instant to dodge attack.
  59.
  60. It didn't take him long to throw the lightning at her right away, in hopes to strike her down. The battle raged on, but there was one trait to it, how silent it was from Saulot's side. Not a word spoken, not a grunt uttered, just focus on what's going on right now.
  61. (Saulot Vykos)
  62. [06:34:27] {combat} Saulot Vykos has been defeated by Rin! They're unable to continue fighting.
  63. [06:34:27] Rin: (Lol oh great)
  64. [06:34:27] Saulot Vykos: (its w/e, bandit doesnt do damage i think)
  65. [06:35:18] Rin: (Very well)
  66. [06:39:34] Avoiding the first, Saulot actually put up a fair defense. But that's about all he could do against Rin. Her attacks, both magical and physical, came from every direction, wearing down the lightning mage without much effort of her own. Her dark arts sapped at his strength, while restoring her own. Certainly, his lightning packed power, but the limbs of the Malpercian's onslaught just grew back upon being severed.
  67.
  68. This girl was far from any average child, or normal magi even. She was in a class all her own. She had known this too. A predator that knew prey when she saw it.
  69.
  70. Saulot slipped into the girl's grasp, and a tentacle wrapped around his waist. It tossed him airborne, and as gravity tended to do so, he fell rather harshly. The wind would be knocked out of his chest. Grace and poise and dignity were all gone. What would he do now?
  71.
  72. Rin was watching him with glee. She couldn't wait to see his suffering.
  73. (Rin)
  74. [06:43:50] He slipped indeed. As much as he tried to uphold his defense against her, he was caught eventually and the tentacle grasped him, if only to toss him in the air and drop him down; exhausted in the moment of heat, he couldn't zap away from the air and back onto ground, instead falling.
  75.
  76. It hurt, a lot. His teeth gritted, but he knew that the girl could murder him for all he knows, and that thought alone had pushed him to get up as soon as possible despite the pain. Heavily exhaling, his face was grimacing, having a hard time to hide the injury inflicted upon him.
  77.
  78. Straightening his posture once more, he focused again. He still wasn't knocked out cold and could fight, and for as long as that was te factor, he'd still stand up.
  79.
  80. And even if she wins once more... at least he fell fighting and did not surrender.
  81. (Saulot Vykos)
  82. [06:44:41] {combat} Saulot Vykos has been defeated by Rin! They're unable to continue fighting.
  83. [06:45:32] Rin: (Being a click mage sucks in RPB)
  84. [06:45:32] Rin: (Uuugh)
  85. [06:45:32] Saulot Vykos: (lmao)
  86. [06:45:32] Rin: (The arena fucks with me so much lol)
  87. [06:45:32] Saulot Vykos: (ye, im no good either)
  88. [06:46:24] Saulot Vykos: (good fight)
  89. [06:46:24] Rin: (You've been one of the more successful against me)
  90. [06:46:24] Saulot Vykos: (shrug)
  91. [06:47:15] Saulot Vykos: (idk how others performed, but i dont think im good at all)
  92. [06:58:20] Well, that was that then. Saulot's endeavors ended in a natural failure, of course. The tentacles of the girl grasped his limbs, restraining him as they lifted him into the air. She eyed him, raising an eyebrow. "A wielder of the Tenebrae... You don't show fear. You're stupid, but stupid can be taught." More tentacles would join the ones possessing the older teen, reeling him in closer to her. Her violet gaze would flash, and suddenly, try as he may, Saulot would be unable to move of his own accord, paralyzed by some form of magic.
  93.
  94. "I don't think I'm going to kill you. No. Not today at least. I know that you've more potential than this. When that potential is unlocked... Then... Then I'll pluck the fruit that you've grown into." Her giggle would echo in the woods once more, as she stepped forward and caressed Saulot's face with her human hand. It was an oddly gentle motion, one that did not befit her.
  95.
  96. "But... I am hungry. I am still hungry even after eating all those men. It doesn't seem to matter if I use my arm to eat people, or use my own mouth to eat food. I am simply... Always..."
  97.
  98. "Hungry."
  99.
  100. She'd roughly jerk Saulot's left hand towards her own face with her vice-like grip, and lick it. "But someone gave me a suggestion. Something that might quell this hunger. Something I've yet to try. Yes... The flesh of a human, consumed by my own body."
  101.
  102. And just like that, she'd bite his smallest of fingers, ripping through it with her teeth. She pulled it from the flesh and tendon that held it to his body, claiming the single finger as her own in a splay of crimson upon her face. It stained her white apparel, but that did not matter.
  103.
  104. She could only revel in the taste, as she quickly threw Saulot a few feet away, like a discarded piece of trash that had served it's purpose. She could already tell, as she munched through the bone and pulp of the pinky in her mouth, chewing away til it was mush, that this was the answer she had sought. She swallowed, and for a moment, there was a clarity in her thought.
  105.
  106. It had only been a little, but her hunger abated itself as she personally crossed the threshold of cannabilism. Though the concept of eating others was not foreign to Malpercians, they had always used their accursed arm to devour. This... This was something else entirely.
  107. (Rin)
  108. [06:58:20] Rin: (TL;DR, I nommed your pinky finger off :D)
  109. [07:00:03] Saulot Vykos: (ye reading thru rp)
  110. [07:10:17] Defeated and injured - two accurate words to describe his state after fight with Rin. He tried his best for as much as he possibly could; his body, now covered in countless deep bruises and hematomas underneath the cloth and armor from the strikes he suffered, he grew weaker, and unable to fight either.
  111.
  112. Suspended in the air by the grip of the tendrils by each of his limb, the young noble was brought before her. His face was grimacing in pain, but he held against it for as much as he could. Saulot didn't want to spare her the pleasure of seeing him suffer much than it was needed.
  113.
  114. But the gestures she had shown to him? The caress across his face? What in the world this wicked girl had on her mind even? He couldn't know back then, struggling to uphold his consciousness. His breath was shallow, deep and heavy, and the whole environment for him was as if a muffled area with it's sound hushed, a testimony for concussion that he received as well.
  115.
  116. What's with the hand--
  117.
  118. His finger?!
  119.
  120. He had only realised that she was taking a taste of his hand with a lick, and in a moment's notice he was overwhelmed by immediate surge of pain; it was hard to control himself, even moreso nigh impossible - as much as he tried to stay silent, he wept and his lungs drew breath at a rapid pace. He experienced a pain shock upon the loss of the finger, and silently cried under his breath. For as much as he tried to endure, it was tough.
  121.
  122. Being thrown away, he immediately looked at his hand; the red mantle of his was getting blood stains from the dripping wound, and he barely crawled off to the nearest tree, if only to lean against it.
  123.
  124. Staring at it with nothing but a pure shock and wide eyes, his chest was rising and falling quick, clearly displaying the hints of panic despite his best attempts to remain calm. It was as if he almost lost his focus upon Rin.
  125. (Saulot Vykos)
  126. [07:20:32] The pleasure that had coursed through her as she had swallowed what remained, had begun to fade already. Still, the girl couldn't help but shiver. This was even better than consuming Yokai with her arm. Better than eating what she had once considered Gods.
  127.
  128. This could become addicting.
  129.
  130. She'd look back to Saulot, turning on him. Her gaze was still powerful and hungry - Even a bit crazed. It was hard to believe that just that little bit of flesh had such an effect on her. She had been starving; now she at the very least, felt content.
  131.
  132. But she wanted more still.
  133.
  134. But she had said...
  135.
  136. But this one...
  137.
  138. It was a confusing ramble of thoughts, but Rin ultimately held herself back, taking a deep breath. She was not going to further maul this one. This one might still prove useful. Not just yet. She wasn't completely lost to this voracity yet...
  139.
  140. "I was right. You are delicious. And... You do show fear. Good. Fear is something to learn from. You'll grow with that fear now won't you, for me? So that maybe next time, you're even more delicious..."
  141.
  142. With those wicked words, she would turn then, her blood-splattered appearance fading as she waltzed off. She would have to find others. To see just how far this hunger would take her...
  143. (Rin)
  144. [07:22:14] Saulot Vykos: (typing rp since my bubble isnt seen)
  145. [07:29:55] Bloodloss, pain shock and fatigue weren't really helping him here, not at all; he only distantly heard Rin's speech. The pain was still overwhelming, but with the arteries and veins ripped off along with entire finger, he was still losing blood.
  146.
  147. There had to be something done about this, least he wished to catch infection or lose large quantities of blood; surely he wouldn't die due to finger loss, but if anything, that would prove disastrous during recovery to have lost much of it.
  148.
  149. She was speaking of devouring, of taste, of twisted pleasure from cannibalism, and he was suffering at her mercy. But it was far from being over. As much as he didn't want to give her the pleasure of watching his torment, but it seems there wasn't much of a choice for him.
  150.
  151. A deep inhale. He moved his other hand to the wounded one, and with his eyelids tightening in a nearly shut eye, the spark flew off...
  152.
  153. Only to bring more pain.
  154.
  155. It. Fucking. Hurt.
  156.
  157. Almost curling and collapsing on his side from the sheer intense pain, his voice gave a crack; a matter of fact, he did scream, if only for a second, and muffled himself with gritted teeth. It sounded as an extremelly painful procedure, one that left him weeping at the tree's bark.
  158.
  159. Why do this? It cauterized his wound, after all. The flesh was burned shut, and so the bleeding stopped. Extreme measure, but clever and effective, objectively speaking. But at what cost?
  160.
  161. He was out of juice. The young noble rested under the tree, only hoping he could catch a breath. Another struggle to remain awake had begun, and he was trying his best to disallow his eyes to shut and pass out. His breathing was as heavy and slow, showing attempts to calm down.
  162. (Saulot Vykos)
