- The Saiyan grinned as he wrenched Cell's arm out of socket, then swung him around and around. Cell's arms hung out above his head, his head clouding with a dizzying spectrum of stars as the boy spun him faster. Snarling, Gohan finally launched Cell toward the curved horizon of the planet. The monster's figure seemed to vanish into the brightness of the sun itself.
- Thinking quickly, Cell used his good hand to turn back and launch an energy attack at Gohan, propelling himself away from the boy even faster. "Hmph," Cell chuckled, his latest scheme bringing a resurge of confidence to his lips. With an additional burst of energy, he accelerated to orbital speed and took off further out into space. Surely the boy wouldn't dare to follow him out here where there was no air at all. This temporary retreat, if it could be called such, would give him just the brief moment of respite he needed.
- Wincing, the bio-android quickly wrenched his arm back into place, letting his regeneration knit the strained sinews together again. Slowing, he looked back down at Earth. There was Gohan, hovering at the edge of space with his golden aura shining like a defiant, infuriating beacon. Immediately, Cell was overcome with rage. He didn't care about the tournament or his plans or striking fear into all those who had dared to challenge him. He just wanted to destroy Gohan. And he would gladly destroy the Earth along with him.
