  1. "Welcome, then. I take it you're here to recruit yourself a party to explore those mazes?" The Guildmaster shuffles a set of papers on his desk for a moment before leafing through them, pulling one of them out, and placing it in front of the newcomer. "I suggest trying to find a good balance between ranged combat, melee, and support. Per our rules, you are only allowed to have five accompany you into those winding hellholes. You'll get five hundred coin, and a ream of parchment for map making. Sound clear?" The newcomer nods, reaches for that piece of paper, and picks up one of the nearby quills to sign their name.
  2. "So... five hundred coin? That's it? Doesn't seem like much for a chunk of starting change."
  3. "So, you're saying that you'd rather not have anything but the skin on your back and the blade at your side? Have it your way, then."
  4. "Ah, wait wait wait, I never said that! Just... Just point me towards the recruiting hall, please?"
  5. "Fine, fine. It's riiight down that hallway, and it's the fifth door on your right. You can't miss it. There's a huge-ass sign in front of there that says 'Recruit Here'. Anything else? I assume that you've found a place to spend the night as well as the foreseeable future, yes?
  6. "W-Wait, I was told that there were cots here that I could use. Am I not wrong?"
  7. "We do have cots and such for non-active explorers, as well as for the injured, but guild members who are on active duty are expected to be able to provide for themselves." And like that, the Guildmaster shuffles those papers in his hand once more. He was tired of the same questions every day but what was he going to do, even? This was his job, and he certainly got paid enough for it. Eh, he best not complain too much. "Regardless of that, you can find all manners of stores and such around the town, but I personally recommend Edith's Exploring Den. They're one of the only stores outside of the place that don't try and actively cheat you out of your coin." The newcomer looks nervous for a moment, nods, and backs up a bit.
  8. "Right, well... I'll get recruiting, and then I'll be back here to sign the guild contract. Is that alright?"
  9. "Yes, but do keep in mind I have more people willing to take it than just you. So, I suggest that you hurry along and find a good group then, no?" And like that, the Guildmaster smacks the papers he was holding onto the top of his desk, causing the newcomer to speed-walk down the hall towards one of the recruitment rooms. The Guildmaster leans a bit to the right, and gauges the growing line outside of the Hall... Ugh, he had so much to do today. Just when he heard that everyone was packing up and planning an expedition into one of the uncharted areas of the mazes. He lets out a sigh... "I need a drink. Badly. Maybe I'll hit up Jezun's Pub for a frosty one after..." He shakes his head for a moment, rubs his face, and cups his hands around his mouth.
  10. "NEXT!"
