The character is meant to develop from a nervous, more shy start to a confident, romantic tone with breathiness and longing in the voice. The cuddle session at the end is intended to offer relief and clarification of the intentions for the relationship, which brings the two characters close. This is my first script and I never recorded something myself, so I am grateful about any Feedback on how to improve in the future.


[Premise: You finally decided to break up with your partner to be able to be with the one your heart is yearning for, your best friend. In brief you gave in to your heart, deciding to no longer live out of your mind. You planned to wait to tell your best friend, because you know that they would not like if you break up with your partner because of them. But you can not stand it anymore, you finally need to confess so you run out of class to meet them at their place. In the beginning you are really nervous and your voice sounds anxious, since you don't know which reaction to expect and you're afraid it could ruin the friendship you have. But when you are sitting there together youre just magically overwhelmed by the feeling of love and you find trust and confidence to finally show them how you feel.]

Hey I'm sorry I didn't call, can I come in?
Oh you were just taking a nap, I'm sorry, i can just go and....[Pause]
Alright yes sure we can just chill on you're couch, should be big enough [nervous giggles]
Tea? No thank you, I mean yes, I mean I don't know...[ [small pause] can we talk?
I was leaving my class cause I couldn't stand it anymore, I needed to tell you something.

[Pause]

Nervous?... yes I feel really nervous to be honest.
OK yes....breathe in and out, you're right. We were always honest with eachother right? And it turned out to make our friendship stronger every time, even when I told you about my darkest secrets.
[breathing noticeably in and out] Yeah that's better.... So I didn't want to tell you right away but you need to know that I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday.

[Pause]

How I feel? To be honest I feel mostly relieved. I mean you know her, she is wonderful and I have nothing but respect for her but I think I am in a different place in my life right now. There were so many things I couldn't talk to her about, like all the stuff we talk about. And I kind of developed feelings for somebody else too. I didn't think it was fair to her to sustain this relationship, when I can't give her what she deserves and when I can't be there for her with all my attention. I thought that the feelings for this other person would be going away, but they actually became stronger. You know that I was thinking about breaking up since one year already and it was time now.

[Pause]

Oh you are such a sweetheart, wonderfully understanding and so sensitive. It's almost as if you know already what I feel, even before I know it myself. I didn't know how you would react, I know you liked her.
Since how long do we know eachother now? [Pause]
[switch to a more trustful, confident tone]One year, yes and you were always there for me, you became my best friend in such a short amount of time. I feel seen by you in a way I never did before. I feel like you see the real me and you love me, not because of what I do or how I look, but for who I am underneath all of that. In a way you turned my whole life upside down, you know that?

You don't? [laughing knowingly].... let me show you then
Why I take your face in my hands like that? Well darling, usually people do that when they want to [Kissing sounds]

You look confused [nervous giggles], whats going through that beautiful head of yours?

[Pause]

Yes you silly of course I was talking about you before, I fell for you the first time we met. Since a year I am asking myself why my relationship is not working out, fooling myself, trying to find a solution. You know that I am faithful and I don't leave anybody who is in my life just like that. But a week ago I felt it finally, that I was supposed to be with somebody else, even though my ex is a wonderful person. I was looking forward to see you all week, every week, for a whole year. When I was with her I was checking my phone all the time to see if you texted me. Every time we touched accidentally, it felt like electricity running through my whole body.  My heart longed for you and I finally decided to follow it.

[Pause]

Why I said that I didn't want to tell you about it right away? Well I knew there is a small chance that you could like me more than just a friend. But I know you right? You would probably be thinking that I was just escaping my relationship, that my feelings for you were not real. I thought that you wouldn't be happy about me breaking up with my ex because of you. But darling, deep in my heart I knew it the first moment I looked in your eyes. And I just can't deny it anymore, so I broke up with her. I don't know if you love me back but I know that the only thing that could make me happy in mmy life is doing what my heart wants and even if that means that I am alone now, it's worth it to me. I broke up because of me and my heart and if you love me back thats the most exciting, magical cherry on the cake.

[nervously agaib] You seem a bit overwhelmed and also... I don't know what that smile on your face means?

[Pause]

[lightly stuttering] You are.....happy? Wait does that mean you feel the....the same way? [Pause] [Kissing sounds]

Oh my Gosh, oh my... [passionately] now you're in trouble baby, come here. I finally need to hold you, to feel you. I want to be all yours.
Snuggle up on my chest, hun. [kissing sounds, mhhh sounds]
Wait, but why didn't you ever tell me?

[Pause]

You are too good for this world baby, you only wanted me to be happy huh? [kissing sound] Yes I get that, of course if you would have had a boyfriend I wouldn't have told you either. But I tell you, I was mad jealous when you had a date [grunting lightly] and I wanted you to be happy so I pulled myself together. But to be really honest, it was such a relief to me, when it didn't went well with those guys. And when I was meeting you with that guy you were dating a couple of months back, I didn't really have a migraine. I just had to leave because I couldn't bear how he was looking at you.

[giggles lovingly] that smile of yours, [sudden, playfully angry tone]ohhh you knew that I was jealous right? You are terrible come here you [kissing sounds, light moans] You remember the skirt you were wearing that day?... It was driving me insane, but I have to admit that those little shorts right here are doing the trick as well [kissing sounds] That smile of yours makes me melt away anyways and now I can finally show you, instead of holding it all in. You have no idea how beautiful you are, honey. Inside and out.

[Pause]

Actually my ex was not that mad at me, she was sad, but also grateful that I tried to make it work this whole time. Maybe she was feeling it too, that it just wasn't meant to be. I will figure that out baby.
For now I just want to focus on us my love. We can just be us. [Kissing sounds]
