Kokubyaku no Avesta, chapter 14-12: Abyss

There is a "hole". A "hole" leading to nothing but dark, deep abyss of Naraka.
Through this, they managed to glimpse history once erased. The following eras will never reach it due to being too far away, but this age, called the first Divine Throne, was able to touch upon the adjacent story of "Zero".

The spectacle revealed before them is tinted with warfare in its most extreme form. The crimson color of blood, the red hellfire, resentment and hatred and dread interweaving, opposing one another; as the world where conflict is commonplace, it is hardly any different from the current age. However, there existed a single fundamental difference.

To be specific, it is a single missing element. For those fighting in the world of "Zero", the concept of "death" itself simply did not exist. Having become immortal amritas, even after being cut, scorched, reduced to pieces, they do not die. They cannot die. They age, they grow ill, they do not possess any wondrous healing factor, and yet this grotesque world is devoid of death's repose. All and everyone can only remain in their anguish, wandering forevermore - a true hell with no salvation.

They are alive. A condition which is supposed to bear hope has turned into a miserable curse and spread across the world. Perhaps even their obsession with waging war is just a desperate journey in search of death.

Soon enough, the disarray of ideas and collectives splits into multiple large clusters.
Those who wish to lift the curse of undeath. Those who, on the contrary, desire to overcome it and be reborn into higher beings. Those who want nothing to do with this insane world and would rather leave it for the new horizons.

It is between them that the final, greatest of wars took place. After all, even if they disagree in their goals, they still have to struggle over the single means of achieving it.

Let us go, to the "Land of the beginning"... To rid the world of Amrita's curse, one must reach the very origin which dyed the universe in its bizarre rule.

Are they to defeat whatever exists there, claim it for themselves, or perhaps pierce a hole to slip through?
If they reach the point where the beginning and the end converge, their wish will come true. It is the instinct of Amrita itself which tells them so, leaving no room for doubt, so such conflict could be seen as a perfectly natural development.

The struggle with the very first Throne at stake was unprecedented in its violence. Countless fallen lives were scattered across the cosmos, yet even then they could not die, simply reduced to rubble.
However, the immortals do not stop. They push forward, even as their bodies literally break into pieces, until six youths rise among them and gain the privilege of stating their wish.

Despite having both friends and foes in their ranks, in a way, they were comrades in arms who achieved mutual recognition.
Each and every one of them could unabashedly be called the greatest hero of their age.

Mithra, Arya, Śakra, Savitri, Vivas, and finally...

Having made unprecedented sacrifices along the way, they manage to reach the "Land of the beginning" and come in contact with the origin that is Naraka.
It is at that moment when everything was decided, everything ended, yet also began. Having faced the idea which no one can comprehend, the one to retain sanity was Mithra alone. Paradoxically, the one to go mad was also Mithra alone.

*Just like them, having been trifled by that hero...*

A silent scream escaped Magsarion's lips. The hole Nahid made let him peek just a hint, touch a miniscule part of Naraka's presence which couldn't even be called a fraction, and yet both his flesh and soul were on the verge of breaking apart.
Moreover, he feels as if he's being restructured into something completely different. When it comes to repainting others according to your own everlasting prayer, he's already experienced it firsthand with Khvarenah, Kaikhosru or Svirios's hegemony, but this did not feel the same.

It's not subjugation which compels one to obey with strength or status. It is fundamentally different from the reasoning or principles of this side, which state that the inferior ones are to follow those who are superior.

Then what is it? He doesn't know. There are no words or concepts capable of expressing this. The only thing he intuitively realized is that the hegemony of repainting the cosmos uses this as its foundation.
In the age of "Zero", Mithra came into contact with Naraka and came up with the countermeasure which became the divine system upheld today. She realized that otherwise all and everything would be engulfed by "it", and that's why every single thing that followed afterwards, every miniscule detail...
