  1. As Arthur passes by a restaurant to leave, an unusual sensation fills him while he looks its way. He spies something through time. Something auspicious. A meeting between two young girls.
  2.
  3. The first is a young red-haired girl whose resemblance Arthur picks up on almost instantly. He looks almost exactly like her, if he were more inclined to accentuate his feminine aspects. Her body shape is roughly similar to his own. A thin figure, maybe a couple inches taller. A bit lacking in the chest area, same as him. The chest wraps always were a bit redundant, but the precaution never hurt. She stares down in consideration at a little green and gold badge as she walks, holding it up to her yellow blouse. After a moment, she shrugs and tosses it in her matching handbag. Once she stows it, she finally turns around to notice the other girl who had been following her, trying unsuccessfully to grab her attention calling out, "Excuse me, Ma'am?" She spins around causing her skirt to twirl, and the older girl to halt quickly. She giggles, "That's the first time anyone's ever tried to call me Ma'am before!" She looks the girl over. While her features don't match much, you feel like this girl is sort of cut from the same cloth as Mira. The glasses, sweater, and timid demeanor seem all too familiar. Her soft brown eyes stare fixed straight at the redhead examining her curiously like she's a shiny new bicycle. Once she's finished having a look, she nods and gives her a smile, the shy girl a bit unsure how to interpret that. "So what's up?" asks the red-haired girl, finally meeting her gaze with her vibrant blue eyes. The older girl brushes her blonde hair out of the way and takes a pencil from behind her ear, and pulls a notepad out of her pocket. "My name is Camille Willow. I saw your gym match... and I was hoping you could give me a quick interview over lunch. I haven't seen a single trainer other than you beat Veronica all day, and your style of battle was... interesting to say the least. Would you mind giving me a moment of your time?" The young girl lights up, "I love lunch! Not as much as breakfast, but it's better than dinner anyway. You wanna just go here?" she motions to the restaurant. Camille looks over. It's a decent place. Not too fancy, but not a dive either. "That sounds acceptable."
  4.
  5. They find a seat on the open air area of the restaurant, and a waiter comes to take their order. "I'll have the Cobb Salad." Camille says, handing her menu over. "I'll haaaaave... a fruit tart!" Camille gives the girl an odd look, but the waiter doesn't raise any questions. "Well, let's get started. The first thing I'd like to know, what is your name?" "Pollyanna Meyer! You can go ahead and call me Polly." Camille raises an eyebrow, "Meyer? Judging from your accent you're from Sinnoh... you wouldn't happen to be related to that Meyer family, would you?" Polly leans back in her chair and sighs, "Aww shoot, I got found out already? I just got here!" Camille seems a bit surprised by this reaction, "Oh, well if you're trying to travel without people knowing your status, I'll be sure to keep your last name classified." There's a bit of giggling at that last part from Polly. "You make it sound like I'm some kind of secret agent. It's no biggie, my parents are rich and all, but I want people focusing more on my first name instead of my last name, you know?" Camille nods "I do, actually. My father is Professor Willow. He leaves some fairly big shoes to fill, and I'd like to make a name for myself. Well, moving on to my next question, what inspired you to challenge the league?" "Well..." she thinks, "I always wasn't really sure if contest were my thing, but really it's thanks to Fantina that I got the inspiration to come here and try this out." "F-Fantina?" she sputters out. "For a girl your age, you certainly have a great deal of connections..." Polly frowns slightly, "You don't have to put it like that... I mean we're friends and everything. It's not like I only know her 'cause my family's good enough to get me into big parties with a gym leader." "Oh, no I'm sorry, that was presumptuous of me. Please accept my apology." "What about you? What are you doing out here?" She straightens her glasses. "If you don't mind, this interview is to learn more about you. Now then, tell me about your battling style." Polly seems confused, like the word is unfamiliar somehow. She tilts her head silently. "... why don't you tell me the thought process behind sending your Milotic against that leavanny? Leavanny is notorious for its speed and physical attacking prowess, and your Milotic is at a major type disadvantage given that water is weak to grass." "Water is weak to Grass?" Camille's eye twitches slightly as she seems to be holding back on saying something. "Yes... yes it is. So you're saying you made this choice disregarding type then. Interesting. Why your Milotic then?" "Because I felt like he wanted to prove how strong he was for me!" "Despite the fact that your Clefable and Gardevoir were still unused?" she follows up. "Of course! Dimitri always loves to go first." "You're telling me you use your Milotic first regardless of the situation? Don't you think that's a bit reckless?" "Yup! Because I know if I do what I can to make him happy, he'll always try his best for me." "It isn't a matter of how hard they try for you, there's tactics to consider. Type advantages, terrain, weather..." "You're smart! Where'd you learn all that?" "It's standard curriculum to become a trainer. How did you pass the written portion?" "There was a test? I just gave them a note Fantina wrote me and they took my picture and gave me my license!" Camille looks at her in stern silence, which is interrupted by the arrival of their food. Polly immediately digs into her tart, scarfing it down. "Can that even be considered lunch?" she asks. "It's meal you eat in the afternoon, so it's lunch!" "Can that even be considered a meal?!" "Food's food! And I love sweets like this." Camille mutters angrily, "Unbelievable. You managed to obtain a badge despite knowing nothing about basic typing, elementary strategy, or even lunch." "Hey, what's that?" "On top of which, you're easily distracted."
  6.
  7. Polly hops out of her seat walks over to a little girl crying on the street by the side of the restaurant while Camille looks on. "Hey sweetie, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" The little girl sniffles "M-Mean guys took my sentret from me and ran off..." Polly looks shocked and picks up the little girl, hugging her. "Oh you poor thing! Come here, you can have some of my tart and tell me what happened." She wipes the tears from her eyes and opens her mouth as Polly feeds her a spoonful of tart. "I was playing with my sentret... and then mean guys in black with a big red R on them pushed me down... and then... and then they took my pokeball and they took my sentret and they ran off!" Camille looks pale when she mentions their uniforms. Polly pats the poor little girl on the head to comfort her as she sobs, but Camille speaks hesitantly after a moment, "That... that was Team Rocket. The police don't have enough power to take them down... it's for the best if you just try to forget this and get a new sentret. They're common. It shouldn't be hard." Almost as soon as Camille finishes saying this, Polly leaps across the table and slugs her in the face hard, knocking her out of her chair and onto the ground. Camille is stunned, as are all the onlookers in the restaurant. "How dare you say that to her! Pokemon aren't just things! They have hearts like you and me! Telling her to just give up like that... it's too cruel." Polly leans down to the girl, "I'm sorry I had to do that sweetie, don't cry. I'll get your pokemon back for you, I promise." She leaves a large bill on the counter and hurriedly says "Sorry about the mess keep the change!" and runs out, vaulting over the railing and taking off. After she's out of sight, Camille slowly drags herself to her feet. "That idiot's going to get herself killed... I have to stop her." She apologizes to the waiter, pays for her food and leaves to chase after Polly.
