  1. Blocking and Dodging:
  2.
  3. Due to recent conflicts with the Blocks and Chaining blocking, dodging, and some forms of parry are now passive abilities that nearly every class has access to and can individually upgrade to higher rankings and proficiencies as well as augment with Perks.
  4.
  5. Dodging: A dodge takes on it's own roll, superseding any attacking roll the opponent uses unless there is no room to dodge through, (Though a crafty thief can nearly always dodge to somewhere). There are two main forms of dodging, the Hard Dodge which has the highest chance to succeed, and the reflex which allows for attacking after said dodge. Hard Dodging takes place within and fills an entire block, but it can even fill in block 0 to allow for future attacks and requires some form of forethought to succeed. A reflex Dodge is a passive dodge that can either be completely passive or activated. It's the least likely form of dodge to succeed but opens up more room for attacking and count as a chain starter. (IE, while in a hard dodge you are trying to evade all damage while not attacking, while a reflex dodge keeps you within the zone of the enemy. R-Dodges count as succeeded also if the enemy fails his accuracy check.)

  11.
  12. Shielding is a near completely passive state. When you are in a blocking position, you stay within it for the entire turn unless you attack. Getting through a block isn't that easy as well, but a block is lowered during the block an attack takes place, (This depends on the fighting stance AND weapon the blocker is using) allowing, how much depends, room to attack within that block. When shielding, it is treated as a pseudo-stance, meaning some stats or abilities may be lowered or unavailable, depending on the shield.
  13.
  14. Shielding doesn't do a roll, merely it mitigates damage to your shield. Certain effects however can go through shields and may have a separate roll for it then.
  15.
  16. Raises a shield takes place within block 0 and other moves can be used afterwards as the block takes no space, BUT, this will lower the shielding for that block.
  17.
  18. If you are attacked and the attack gets through, your shielding will be lowered for the rest of that turn.
  19.
  20. The Shield itself can also determine how well it blocks something and how much it inhedes combat. A small countering shield will require a dexterity threshold, but will allow for more freedom in combat. A large towershield will require more strength and can severely limit combat ability but will block well, but will block more attacks.
  21.
  22. SHield Bashing is an active form of Blocking. It requires the move shield bash and can be used to temporarily stun your opponent's attacking and blocking the rest of the turn. It requires to be attacked and then successfully blocked. If you aren't attacked when attempting a shield bash it merely just fails. (IE, you say beforehand if you shield bashed, and if you are attacked during that block, you use it, and if not, it simply passes away from your opponent.)

  32. The Shield Rating is a number between 1 and 4. 1 Being Small parrying shields to tower shields at 4. Higher can be achieved by this is the base for it.

  34. Example of Shield Use.
  35.
  36. Player1: Raises shield
  37. NPC: Attacks in Block 1
  38. Player1: Blocks
  39.
  40. Player1: Shields and attacks in Block 2
  41. Npc (Higher speed): Uses a quick draw, gets through the block and disrupts it.
  42. Npc: Attacks in Block 1 with faster speed.
  43. Player1: Though shielding is broken, attacks.
  44.
  45. Player1: (Turn before) Shields and rushes forward.
  46. (Next turn)
  47. Player1: Shields and attacks in block 1
  48. NPC (Faster): Quickdraw, is blocked by shield.
  49. Player1: Attempts an attack
  50. Player2: Attacks first, going through shielding.
  51. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. Weapon Blocks and Parrying: A weapon block however is done with either a main-hand or offhand weapon and can be done to allow for much better attacking ability while remaining a defensive threat. The Chance of a weapon block working is dex x 3, and a strength check for certain weapons. Your weapon however will take damage relative to the opposing weapon's strength.
  54.
  55. This form of blocking is the same as shielding as long as you keep your off/main hand weapon blocking and not attacking.
  56.
  57. Parrying can be done as a form of "Active" blocking to shove the opponent's weapon out of their hand, doing so requires the move parry and then uses your weapons normal accuracy immediately after a successful block with your weapon.
