[00:41] Mona turns around. Looking less then excited to see this face. She felt nothing but overwhelming illness in her gut. The Impulse to attack.

But. She had to behave for now. She was with Orion,she couldn't put him in danger.

" What do you want from me? "

[00:43] Turning around while leading Mona so they could go around and talk, they come to a stop alongside the Lockway and turn around when hearing Yoshiko's voice.

He glances between the two, and his eyes narrow on the Taiyang. By Mona's words, it was easy to understand their relationship wasn't exactly friendly.

[00:47] Yoshiko's tail sways to the side where Yoshiko could reach for it and comb her fingers through it. She emitted a calm aura from her mien and form altogether. Just as much as she glowed.

"I do not want anything from you, dear... You escaped Parsley's wrath that one day but there was no use for me stepping in.. It's her home.

But how are you now?"

[00:50] That name. It really pissed Mona off. Scratching at her arms. She looks at Yoshiko with a sour face.

"I know I escaped it. Now I'm here breathing. Waiting for the day we march on her home. That will be the day I return the favor tenfold. "

Mona looks to Orion. Giving him a look of worry. She could feel herself slipping already. Twisted spite crawling into her headspace.

" But how am I now? I couldn't be better serving in this wonderful Machine. "

[00:55] He didn't know why, he felt somewhat awkward if not on edge with this situation. The look of worry Mona gave him a bad idea of how strong Taiyang is, and now, he was worried too.

Raising a hand, he put it on Mona's shoulders, a whisper coming from him before he lowered his hand and stared straight at the Yoshiko. "Yes, she's doing great, would you mind if we were on our way now, got some stuff to do." He tries to simply cut the conversation so they can leave.

[00:56] A woman covered in some soot and sweat, with only a mild shine to her mithril prosthetic traverses from the northern Therian mountains. Her ruby hues settling on the bridge, occupied by Barsburgian personnel. In particular, her eyes fall on two uniformed personas conversing with whom she assumed to be a mere wanderer.

She didn't say anything, instead, her eyes simply held on to them...
Filled with spite, a visage twisted in disgust.
Alas, that fear had managed to transform into something more potent.

She heard a voice, younger... Disembodied from the scene she fixated upon, and answered without acknowledging it with her gander.
"They're Barsburgian." she answered.

"Surprisingly enough, they're not trying to enforce a tax or rob wanderers today. It seems they tend to pick and choose when they do."
Where did -that- bravado come from? Perhaps, these individuals didn't look as menacing as the others she'd faced?
--or enough encounters had left her soured from the reoccurring theme of fear for the regime?

Yoshiko tilted her head and cocked a bro. It was definitely not something Yoshiko was expecting to hear. Especially in that tone of voice.

"Not entirely smart to say that to someone who protects said home... Let's not forget that you have the mana of an occultist.. Unless you were cleansed?" she inquired, but she looks at Orion for a moment before switching back to Mona.

"... I see. Well, I suppose that means you're doing fine."

Yoshiko shrugs and begins to step to the side whilst her eyes were closed. "Of course, do as you want. Oh, I do have one question.

Who is after me? I was told your people are... I do not like the fact that people are after me without reason." Yoshiko acknowledges Selena but doesn't say anything towards them for now.

[01:14] Mona grits her teeth. 'Let's not forget that you have the mana of an occultist.. ' That statement. It was the sort of thing she hated the most. Clenching her fist. Mona and her copper hues spill ire in Yoshikos direction.

" No. I wasn't cleansed. In fact. I was taken in because I was an occultist. I was able to show I was worthy by showing them how weak Phillip Ras Petrakis by making him armless. So yes. Let's not forget that I have the mana of an occultists. Because in my eyes there is nothing wrong with that."

Such a long tangent. She was riled up easy. Taking a breath. Mona grabs unto Orions sleeve. Trying to keep herself from blowing up completely in such a short span of time.

" I can't answer that. "

A simple response given before she shuts her mouth for the time being.

[01:20] Frowning, he really disliked the words directed at Mona almost as much as the Lockway herself, he just hated when other people didn't get the respect they were due, but he stopped himself from saying anything rude when his friend spoke for herself and grabbed his sleeve.

"There is nothing wrong with her, so I would appreciate if you kept your opinion on occultism to yourself. The Empire saw the potential which you and others couldn't." He shrugs.

Knowing that some people were unlikely to get satisfied with a simple response, he added some to it. "As for someone being after you, do understand that people are likely to confuse the actions of some to be the actions of all. Maybe it's just some soldier who has a grudge against you, and because he had our uniform, people would immediately assume we are all wanting you."

"Now then, shall we go?" With a small smile, he looks at Mona.

Surely, it wasn't a battle of magics, though given the mention of someone having their arms removed? It was likely that tempers were flaring...
Then again, the urge to approach was suppressed by...

Funny enough, common sense.

Her metallic arm flexed and shuddered under the strain she put it through, tightening a fist that'd draw blood if it were organic. All with her ire fixated own the uniformed duo.

They were still close to Osrona and reinforcements could be just around the corner...
But then again, perhaps she could at least send them off with a message? Could she even take them on? That ugly face of terror crawled from within the depths of her psyche to taunt her, planting doubts in her head.

"If a soldier has a grudge on anyone and is able to get away with their transgressions..." she called out to the two, drawing attention to herself.
The woman's eyes gleamed of a shining crimson, embodying her surmounting fury.
"--especially behind the aegis that is your machine? That crime stains your entire cause!"

Her heart was pounding, but this time, she stood strong... Finally warming herself up to actively rage... Rage against the machine.
A step towards the two, and she cast out her right arm, drawing forth a light conjured of her metaphysical elements -- they coalesced into a cylindrical construct, soon subsiding to reveal a rifle once-shrouded in an illusionary veil.

Selena tugged at it to wield it properly, seemingly preparing herself for conflict. Unprovoked? No, it was payback -- even if it wasn't against the ones in particular she sought to retaliate against, this was a start for her.

[01:52] Yoshiko doesn't say much even when they spoke. Of course, she'd reply but she wanted them to finish before she spoke her mind.

Especially towards Mona. Philip had been someone who she was discussing to get back. "Oh.." The Kitsune turned back towards Mona and rose her brow once again. This got a bit interesting especially with that information. Now she really debated if she would let them go or not.

"You made him.. armless? Is that what I heard. So if I put the puzzle pieces together, you are the reason he was captured in the first place? You took him in... After saying that. Do you really think I would've let you continue on with your day?

And with still being an occulist, I have every reason to block your path.."

Yoshiko's form begins to glow a bit more brightly than usually. She wasn't going to persist the fact that Mona had been an occultist, but now that she had blatantly said that she isthe reason Philip isn't with them now, or that's what she assumed. She'd stay.

"The potential of Occultism is vile and morbid. Only one person I can accept who holds such because they have followed a nullified path.

You.. however. Well, maybe I can take you to them.

But I also was told that I am specifically being targeted. I will only assume that I am being chased after. But no, you shall not go now..."

Yoshiko looked ready to capture if she needed to. She didn't really fight unless provoked but this was one of this moments where she was. She glanced at Selena for a moment. "You may do whatever you like, dear.."

[02:02] She was close. But far from right. Mona didn't capture him. However before she can even respond to that. She moves her sight to Selena. Her copper hues giving her a contorted stare.

" You are being foolish. Utterly so. Do not get involved. "\

A simple warning. Before the seemingly silent Mona brings that invasive glance back to Yoshiko.

"I didn't take him in. I did defeat him however prior to him being captured. Somebody else had that honor. They had the honor of breaking somebody who believes in such greater forces more then I did. I guess you can say I'm jealous."

Monas grip on Orion's sleeve weakens before both of her hands now rest on her hat. Pushing it down with force as the vegetation beneath her feet begins to perish.

" But. This power isn't vile or morbid. Whatever stars or silly deity you believe in fear it. This power makes me more human then most and...You wont be taking me to that Rella woman. Nor anybody else."

Suddenly. Mona's body begins to shimmer a wild azure . With a blast of light. She becomes a vivid blue flame. Her magical circuits tearing themselves to shreds while her mastery of the occult keeps an influx of power coming through.

" I wont let you tread on me. Step any closer and I'll bite back. "

[02:05] A frown slowly formed on his face as his head lowered slightly, his steely gaze darting in between the Taiyang and the Nokamata. Why had things turned out like this? So annoying.

Well, talks were tried to be had, but in the emd, it seems that it was not meant to be.

Without hesitation, his hand reached for his gun. "Too slow." Is what he comments on as he was ready to pull the trigger the moment Selena formed her gun, his own already trained on her. "Stand down."

This situation was impossible to get out of, and he could only hope him and his friend could do this without suffering any kind of loss. There was some worry in the back of his mind for Mona. This wasn't good.

He was pretty fast and could attempt to run, but to mess with a comrade, a friend specially, meant they would be messing with him as well.

Though his gun was ready to shoot towards Selena, he wouldn't hesitate to turn and shoot Yoshiko should she step closer to Mona. She had already been warned.

[02:12] He jerks awake to the sound of footsteps and threats and soon, as magic fills the air, the corporal is forward. Their gun is pulled off from their backside and held forward, the barrel of it aimed directly at Selena and while hostilities take hold, he takes it upon himself to fire the first shot. To potentially take one of the fighters out of the fray.

Lightning travels down fingertips and a blast of searing-blue-hot electricity fires directly at the Nokamata.

"Watch where you point that thing," he reprimands.

"I'll be over in a second, corporals," he tells his comrades. For now, he'd cover their rear.

[02:23] 'Too slow'
She fastened her hold on her weapon, debating on how things were going to play out.
How was she going to properly engage from this position? Her crimson eyes flared, and the air felt... Off...

Was it colder? Was there movement around the woman? No, likely a figment of the imagination... Or an illusionist attempting to conduct tricks.
Interestingly enough, she was idling there for a decent amount of time, only building to the tension -- seemingly pondering on whether or not t--

A bolt of lightning pierced her chest, summoned forth from Cosmas to cackle on its way through her body. Her image flexed and façade gaped for an expression of shock. It was as though her breath was robbed from her body in an instant...

A battle likely to be tense and extensive? Abruptly stamped out...
An easy win!

'I'll be over in--' The man wouldn't be allowed to finish their sentence.
"Hmph… Did you really..."

Did... Her body... Just speak?
With a gaping hole in her chest? Still smoking from the lightning shot!

"--Think... It'd be..." It further warped at its figure, head twisted to an impossible degree with eyes settled upon Cosmas.
"That easy?" Her voice warped with flanger, and cackled with a metallic static tone to her vocals: This... Was not Selena.
A gun shot rung out for Cosmas ears, ripping up soil by his right foot.

Turning his head in that direction would reveal, that the odd movement taking place around the previously established stature of Selena was the true individual, casting an illusionary veil assumedly to close the distance on an unsuspecting Orion, now forced into action by Cosmas prematurely.

The transparent veil faded to reveal her true position, already admist a charge to flank at the man...
The pierced conjuration of Selena's injury filled itself back up, undone by Selena's metaphysical charm -- doubleteaming at them via the metaphysical.

[02:28] The kitsune appeared to be blocked by Mona's friend. She was fine with this and conjured up a clone in front of her to block any attempt at an attack that would assault her. She stood there deadpanned and ready to continue if needed.

"I hope not to harm you both... But you will be embraced by Jiuweihu if harm does come to you. Do.. not worry." With that said, Yoshiko removes a small vial from her person and take a sip of its contents.

She was no prepared.

[02:30] The moment Yoshiko got ready for combat, he didn't care what she said or did, his gun immediately pointed towards her instead of Selena and he pulled the trigger, engaging her in combat before Mona.

"I don't give a shit to what you want." Lightning cackles around his body, his heart pumping electricity through his veins as though it was a battery.

What else could he say? Nothing relevant, so he just focused on beating her to the best of his ability.

[02:44] Yoshiko appeared to quick for the young Orion. It didn't really matter that her form failed to blend in with the surroundings while her glow brightly lit up the fields.

Said glow caused fighting her a lot harder. The flashing rays causing her opponent to have a few seconds of impaired sight only for Yoshiko to show up in front of them the moment they got their sight back and released a sun-flamed wave of fire.

But frankly, Yoshiko's target wasn't this male. Each pain he would've received was only a mere illusion to his nerves. Burn marks, cuts, bleeding. It was never truly there. It was all a trick of the mind. This process would only cause Orion to tire himself out while Yoshiko fought against him. If she was really trying, the pain would've been real.

"See..? I did not harm you and I wouldn't have harmed you. You don't deserve it as you did nothing wrong... yet.

But you have honorably fought and I will let you go about your day and have you tell the others about me. Not because I want you to but, because I already know you were going to do so.. I can see that far into the future," she states, glancing at Mona in the distance. It appeared it was her turn. The actual target Yoshiko had been aiming for.

[02:49] Well, fuck... he had NEVER fought as annoying of an oponente as the Taiyang in front of him, the way she ran away from him and his attacks infuriating him to no end. The mark of Garljing on his chest burning painfully as the attacks came.

He would see himself burned, cut and tired, his hatred growing with each passing moment until he was finally too tired to continue, now remaining on one knee and breathing heavily, his gun fallen to his side and one of his hands grasping the dirt bellow him.

An expression. of defeat and shame on his face as he had failed to protect and help Mona like he wanted.

Bringing a hand to wipe some of the imaginary blood on his cheek, he glared at the Taiyang's back. Previously, she wasn't a target, but he would make damn sure that she became one once he returned should Mona not end her here and now.

His eyes look towards the Lockway for a moment before he looks away, he wished he could've done more.

[02:51] Honor. How dare she mock Orion with such ideals. This woman speaking like some sort of sage like figure. It aggravated her further. Truth be told. Mona had achieved a state beyond furious. Something that was breaching into the realms of utter disgust.

" ORION "

With a dash forward. Mona holds her blade out. Aiming to cleave into Yoshiko. Closing the distance between them with each step. Tarnishing the land with every breath. Small animals. Insects and even nature were all dying to close the gap. Fueling this movement forward.

" I'm going to have you pack your bags like I did Phillip. You best prepare yourself woman. "

Extending from her very grip. A coat of energy attaches itself unto her blade. Moving about in a jagged manner.

" I may just be a singular cog. But when I'm in this Machine... I have no limits!

Finishing her loud banter. Mona moves forward. Ready to tear into her foe!

[02:55] ** Yoshiko Taiyang has inflicted an injury upon Mona M Lockway. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
[03:06] Yoshiko applied the same pressure on Mona she did with Orion. But Mona proved a little bit of a threat with an unknown fighting style. Alas, she didn't underestimate the Lockway. She just felt it was going to be a fight Yoshiko could be confident in.

Snapping her fingers in place, Yoshiko's tome floated in front of her letting a shield of protective light prevent the claw of darkness from causing too much harm to her frame.

But Mona proved that her fighting stance was fruitful. Almost causing Yoshiko to have a little trouble. However, she did notice and adapt causing her to do better against Mona.

"... Unforuntate, dear. But like I said, you'll be coming with me for what you did to Philip. If you had only stayed quite you would've left without worrying."

Yoshiko's ears twitch at the sound of someone in the distance coming to challenge her. A clone of hers carried the Lockway away before Yoshiko prepared herself for a third battle.

"Make this quick, dear.."

[03:07] The corporal comes in late. Though he's silent aside from the loud thumps of his black boots upon the soil. Through the forest he makes headway only to find Mona defeated and Orion off to the side. Another loss for the Empire and their opponent was not an easy one.

He draws his gun and lines it up so the barrel points down the kitsune.

"Trouble," he mutters off-hand. Lightning revs to life, illuminating the barrel of his gun and arcing down the magitech weapon.

"I will," he replies to her.

With the crack of thunder, he's forward, firing shot after shot as he makes movement to close the gap.

[03:11] Mona fought with every ounce of power her body could produce. With every ounce of grit her frame could withstand. She wanted to be able to go home. Return home and talk about this experience with Orion. Hell she didn't even get to hear what he had to say yet. But despite reaching far. Mona only tasted one thing.

Defeat

Now something invasive sat on her chest. It didn't cause her physical pain. But mentally? It made the occultist energies within her scream in anguish. It was disgusting.

Now. Being carried away. Mona can only muster a couple of words and a solemn face to Orion's direction.

" Orion. I'll miss you the most. Keep fighting... Oh and Tell Anria. I said I'm sorry. "

Mona was beginning to let the Paranoia squirm in her head. She had assumed the worse and then some. Truly she believed this was the end.

[03:13] There was gnawing feeling of fear and worry in his heart as he saw the battle between the Taiyang and the Lockway. His eyes darting from one to the other as he could do nothing more than spectate.

His worries came to be true in the end as the fucking Kitsune's clone started to carry away his friend. His heart started beating faster... No... NO! He couldn't just stay put. "Shit... Fuck..."

"WAIT!"

"I'll give you Money... tem thousand... fuck, just let go! I'll even switch spots with her!" Shit, his mind entered a panic state for the first time in a long while as he couldn't help but fear the worst for his comrade... no, for his friend.

He just couldn't help it, she was the first person who had understood and who shared his hatred for the Stars and those who drew power from them. A memory of him saying that he wouldn't let them cleanse her comes to his mind. His body and mind both felt like they were burning as he saw even Cosmas be defeated.

This couldn't be the end!

[03:23] They intervened with Yoshiko's success in capturing Mona. But they also failed at doing so. Yoshiko couldn't see the point of continuing on with all this battling as she was continuing to be provoked but it was all for something good in the end. But Yoshiko wouldn't have Mona harmed in any way despite the magic that they held within their circuitry.

But maybe something would happen. Yoshiko didn't look that far into the future.

"Hm? You want to give me money for her custody..?" she questioned, letting her clone hand Mona off to her as her gaze was removed from Cosmas and placed on Orion. There was an apparent need but Yoshiko didn't seem to care. "I will not take money no.. I have all that I could ever want. Money is not an issue. Plus, you're not needed... She is.

She has made a sin that causes me to do this certain... action. I am so sorry this has to happen but it is a duty that I am inclined to do." Yoshiko turned away from the Barsburgians while she went to pick up Mona. She glanced in the direction. She noticed someone familiar in only smiled in regards to them watching over. They knew who they are.

But of course, it was time to leave. Yoshiko didn't intend to stay any longer than she needed to.

[03:26] Their gun is holstered back after the loss and they bring themselves back to their feet. There was nothing more that needed to be said. Moving to continue to fight would undoubtedly mean their capture due to their wounds, and the gap between their strengths was far too great.

Another casualty for Barsburg. It was beginning to add up, body by body. Capture by capture. Every 'cog' that was removed from the Machine.

Cosmas calls out to Orion as he starts to file into a retreat. "We have to report this. There's nothing more we can do for her here," he sternly adds. Harsh words but victory was unattainable at their current strength.

[03:29] Well - this was not a pleasant surprise not by a long shot.. - just another person seeking to quote on quote kid nap the people he swore to protect. What was it with these people... - they can't just finish things it's like they wanted to prolong conflict..

It was so weird.

She already spotted him so there was no use in trying to hide or anything like that - might as well try where he can.

A light would flicker as he lights a cigarette only to take a long drag before exhaling it through his nose.

"Well - you spotted me, you already know I can't let you take anyone." He commented.

If it wasn't obvious by his attire - than maybe they were fighting for the wrong reason. "Let my people go.." He commanded as he took out his service weapon and switched it from safe to semi, - the cosmic energy coming from him seemed to almost drain into his gun.

"Oh- don't bother answering that by the way I have seen how all you people operate I already know the answer - the command was just a curtesy." And with that he spit out his cigarette onto the floor.

"Well.. - lets get this started.."

[03:30] The soft countenance in which he regards the situation is only betrayed by the heavy notion of assessment within his eyes. Person to person, cog to cog, he allows each face to commit itself to his memory banks.

Having only come upon the situation at the end of it all, he doesn't need to say a word to grasp what was going on. Between their reactions and Yoshiko seeking to make her way off with Mona in tow, no, nothing needs be said.

He merely offers a nod to her, body lingering near on the just in case. They were bested already, there wasn't much more that could be done. But one never could be too cautious.

in short, he leaves when she leaves.

[03:33] Lightning begins to cackle around his body once more as he grabs his gun. Bloodshot eyes focused solely on Yoshiko as he tries to go forward, but can't. He was too tired, his circuits begin to overload as he strains himself to stand. He could try but he would only fall again.

"I swear to those fucking Stars above us... that I'll kill you if you do anything, and burn everything you hold dear. You'll pay tenfold for this! I'll make sure of that!" Either because it may rain soon or as if the skies themselves were responding to his rage, thunder roars in the dark clouds.

"You kill her and just imagine what will happen to your friend, Philip." A vague threat, but he had a vicious grin on his face as he clutched his side and watched her walking back. She should know that Philip was still a prisoner and that there was currently a deal of Money for him, but wasn't that likely going to change if they acquired of the Empire's cogs? Certainly it would, he just doesn't know how.

Stumbling back, he catches himself from falling down due to exhaustion. "Yes, let's."

Flickering like lightning, he aims to leave. A few words coming out of his mouth as he would make his way back to Osrona with Cosmas. "For every one of us that falls... we need to kill two of them." His previous emotional outburst would be nowhere to be seen by them as his mask of a calm expression returned.

[03:37] Orions words grace not only Mona's ears. But travel deep into her mind. Despite her current state. It not only gave her motivation to resist whatever was coming. But made her aware of something she thought she had lost.

Either way.

She was determined to return home to The Machine.

[03:40] Despite all of this, Yoshiko had the calmest aura about her person. She still glowed heavily like the sun's rays as she began to walk away. Only to stop when she hears more voices call out to her.

"If Philip wasn't in danger as he is right now, she would've been cleansed on the spot and probably purged in the process. But... I am very reasonable person.

You can trust me that her life is in good hands," she declares, looking back at Mona. The Fox's ears casually wiggle at the sound of someone who wasn't hear before.

Curtesy? Perhaps he was right. She always showed that much when she could before a battle or anything related. However, she wanted to make it clear to them that they did not have more of a reason to fight. This was done and Yoshiko was taking Mona with her whether they liked it or not.

"You say 'Let your people go..' as if you do not hold one of my own within your walls as we speak..." But they seemed quite intent on wanting to rescue Mona with the way they spoke.

Yes, it cuts, the stab wound deep. But it is nothing lasting or even temporary, the blade seems to echo more to the spirit than physically, and will leave him busy enough for time to make their exit.
