- This was an actual blur, in which Blake's entire body seemed to turn to thick, black ink – and she swayed away from my sword and under my arm. After-images were left behind her, and far longer than they should have. It made tracking her all but impossible, and my eyes widened as she flickered out from beneath my arm, appearing behind me.
- Her foot hit the middle of my back, and I fell forward, crashing to the ground.
