  1. The Santora Crime Family started out as a small outfit in the small town of Elizabeth in New Jersey. The outfit consisted of local Hoods and thieves who would do anything to make a quick buck. Over time the outfit took up a leader named Angelo Santora and under his leadership the outfit expanded into new turf and into more complex but more profitable rackets. However in 1950 the outfit attracted the attention of the ruling power in New Jersey, the Mangano outfit. Relations between the two groups only declined as the Santora outfit expanded and eventually after a failed hit on Angelo the conflict escalated into war. Soon the Santoras were able to find aid from the prospering New York families and with their help on the morning of July 1st 1950 5 gunmen stormed the Cantela Cafe unloading into Samuel Mangano. After his death the Mangano outfit crumbled leaving the Santoras to be the ruling faction in New Jersey. Slowly the outfit began to adopt the tradition’s of their New York counterparts and in 1951 they were officially recognized by the New York commission. The Santora Crime Family mostly dabbled with drugs, primarily prescription pills such as PCP and other designer drugs. Eventually Angelo Santora died and his nephew Carmine Santora took over the family business and expanded their operations into gambling, loan sharking, prostitution and more. In 1953 several Capo’s attempted to dethrone Carmine and take over the family eventually the capos saw themselves and only themselves fit to run the family and it soon sparked a civil war in the family. The men under Carmines command utilized car bombs to take out high profile targets. It didn't take long for the rogue Capo’s to be killed off and their remaining men to be executed and although weakened the family was stronger than ever. Carmine learned to use fear and intimidation to keep his men in like. In 1954 the family had largely taken control of all of New Jersey, they had the judges, cops, politicians and even the D.A in their pockets eventually a capo by the name of Johnny Costello introduced drugs into the family bringing tons of cash. After perfecting the manufacturing process the Santoras took to the streets with their drugs that consisted of Heroin, Xanax and PCP. The Santoras also expanded even further this time out of New Jersey and into the quiet residential neighborhood of Greenville New York where they operate pharmacy’s to sling the drugs to the rich residents of Greenville.
