MK8MC - Why it sucks and why I've had it, officially.

So anyway, this whole debacle is one of the biggest jokes I've seen in a while.

Yeah, some of the things Del said could be considered rude to most people but I honestly didn't notice anyone care about his behaviour until tonight when Koopa demodded him, without so much as a warning beforehand may I add. Not even a chance for him to maybe change his attitude a little bit. I also disagree with flat-out banning him from the server because you can't handle being called an asshole a couple times. I think it was unreasonable for him to even react like that, although completely expected knowing how he is, and he should've just been muted for a little while or something. None of this has ever appeared as a problem in all the time Del has been mod until tonight.

What I disagree with even more than any of the above is not only adding a new mod that I've literally never fucking seen in this server until today but also putting the server into read-only mode when people were heavily disagreeing with your shitty decisions. Talk about punishing the whole class for a dumb thing one person did. I don't know why you expect a fucking Discord server of all things to act professional like we work for a government or something; it's completely farfetched. Rarely anything meaningful even goes on in this server for "meaningful discussions" to be had and when some progress is miraculously made, those discussions tend to happen quite smoothly. But those gaps of progress are gigantic and it's honestly fucking frustrating and that's why I roared so many times about Atlas. This server is full of people who are goddamn bored of MK8 modding because we're stuck doing the same goddamn things we've been able to do for over a year, with slight (and I mean **SLIGHT**.) advancements towards better tools for (mainly) texturing. We don't even have a proper UI/visual editor for fucking anything and we need to hex edit just to successfully replace some image files and **THAT** was the biggest breakthrough this server has seen in **_MONTHS._** There are like 3 separate projects going on to figure out BFRES and one's by a shitty MKW modder that should be in jail and the others are by people who can't seem to reliably work on projects without dropping them for months at a time or even entirely. No one seems to actually make an effort to work with each other and figure shit out faster. Especially not Atlas, cuz of his "I'm the smartest fuckin person in the world and every mod I do is worth 50 bucks" self-importance attitude. I don't know how anyone expects a Discord server to not be kind of toxic especially when there are only a handful of people smart enough to know how to make tools, etc.

Also, it doesn't help that this server is owned and run by a literal 14(?) (something around there idc) year old kid acting like he's in his 20s and can't handle people spitting a couple insulting words (with absolutely 0 intention to hurt anyone or mean them as legitimate insults, btw) or people disagreeing with him when he did something stupid himself. "Instead of justifying my actions let me just mute the entire server! That'll prove me right! Shut the fuck up everyone that thinks I'm wrong!" That's a problem. Then we try to have a bit of fun with reactions while we can't do anything else because we were muted over one person's stupid actions that we (fairly and justifiably) were upset with and we even get the power to add reactions taken away. Talk about a no fun allowed server.

My point out of all of this is that this is Discord, a messaging program on the internet, and you literally cannot reasonably expect everyone to behave like perfect humans. I know Del had no harmful intentions with his behaviour and I'm pretty sure no one thought it was a problem except for Koopa??? It sure didn't seem like it at all. So he swore a lot and threw out a lot of insults that 99% of internet users are (or should be) desensitized to. Not much better than being a complete baby who isn't able to fight for himself so he mods his friend and removes everyone's ability to speak in the server instead of being more reasonable, taking a seat for a minute and thinking that maybe you also handled the situation as poorly as everyone else. Yes, the chat was flying, but I genuinely do not think it was too out of hand and no one was even insulting anyone anymore.

Last time I left this server was in December or something. Maybe November. And I told people before I left to maybe try to work on some simple shit, like learning and understanding .byaml files since they're nearly identical to MKW's KMP. I said it would be nice to have more of it figured out (checkpoints, respawns, etc) before CTs are possible because it would be one less worry in the long run and no one was doing anything else anyway. No progress was being made. No progress _was_ made. I came back here and nothing was fuckin done, only one person is putting effort into .byaml now (RoGamer) and that started this month. Did I do anything about it myself? No, not much, cuz I'm dumb as shit when it comes to these things too. Only a few people in the MK8 modding scene arent. Though, I think I put more _effort into trying_ than anyone else did. I modified respawns and stuff before anyone else did and even this week I was testing out what makes checkpoints tick.

tl;dr This scene is dead when it shouldn't be and the way the server is trying to be run right now is unenjoyable.
