- Sorry if the audio sucks! I'm going to try new stuff next time!
- So this is probably the most important part so far. In this vid I make the machine deck, which is probably one of the faster decks you could possibly make in the game. With this, the game is going to go by a lot faster.
- Buying Cards
- - Here are my personal notes on what you by here:
- 1. Master Fusions: Cyber End Dragon*, UFOroid Fighter* (II), Elemental Hero Thunder Giant* (II), Cyber Twin Dragon*, Gatling Dragon, Metamorphosis
- - Spend 2-3 for both CED and Fighter at first. Buy the rest in singles.
- - This kind of took forever, so on the vid, I made an annotation to skip ahead to the duel exam. Buying all those cards is important though, as you use all of them eventually.
- Duel Exam
- - So at 6:30 is the exam. This is pretty straightforward. I kind of messed up the Timed Duel, and had to reset.
- -What's cool about Practical Exams, is that once you get a score of 100 points, you can simply surrender and move on. It doesn't count towards the 200 total wins you need to complete the game. You just need tp accomplish whatever task is necessary.
- - So since this practical exam is all about playing spells, all you need to do is play 4 spells and surrender. I was unlucky and didn't open 4 of them, so the game went on a few turns.
- - So after I pass, I get the duelist ranking of Fiery Duelist. This is important, because as long as you're in Slifer Red you need at least this ranking to be able to face Obelisk Blue students. Getting this ranking is the main reason why you get exactly 30 wins.
- - At 11:25, I choose to stay at Slifer Red. But it's very important to make a save state right there. The next part of the game is attempting to make a certain event trigger. For whatever reason, this will not happen consistently. So it's important to have a save state before attempting this event, as it's the most convenient way to retry.
- Zane Event
- - So to activate this, you need to talk to Syrus in the morning while you're able to duel Obelisk Blue students. When it triggers, Syrus automatically force's a duel, rather than letting you have the option to choose yes or no. That's why I instantly reset when I see him say "Umm,", because I know that it wouldn't happen at that point.
- - The next part is to just go somewhere random in the evening, so that you don't duel anyone. At night the game forces a duel against Zane. It's faster to just surrender this, as you can simply make a much faster deck soon, and duel him later.
- Buying cards
- - That next Tuesday, I'm finally able to buy Trap Collection 1. This is important, as the very next week I'll need to buy trap special two, which contains powerful cards such as ring of destruction, and mirror force.
- - Next Saturday, I buy Machines. Here are my notes on how you buy that pack:
- 1. Machines: Cyber Stein*, Limiter Removal* (Set Timing card!) (III), Cyber Dragon*, Blowback Dragon*, Reflect Bounder*, Y-Dragon Head/Z-Metal Tank (Cyber End*, Cyber Twin*, Jinzo*)
- 2. Cyber Stein: 69015963 (Hold down A to make it go faster!!)
- - Hopefully you have 1 Cyber Stein already, so you’ll only need to use the password. Otherwise, buy a Stein with 4-5 packs. If you get it here buying in singles, cool. Jinzo is a card you can get in an event, but if it comes up when buy single packs then that’s also pretty cool. *Note: Limiter also shows up in Basic 2-B. So if it’s the only card you’re buying for, consider buying it from there to save a little DP.*
- 3. If you have enough DP, use this next password: Chaos Sorcerer: 09596126
- - I made a mistake, and reset when I hit Z metal tank. Made things longer than they needed to be.
- Making Machines
- - Here are my notes on the machine deck. This is pretty long, because this expresses all my thoughts on it. Wall of text time:
- Here’s the deck list:
- Deck #2: MACHINES
- Monsters: 21
- 2 Cyber Stein
- 3 Mystic Tomato
- 3 Nimble Momonga
- 1 Reflect Bounder
- 1 Sangan
- 3 Shining Angel
- 1 Y-Dragon Head/Z-Metal Tank
- 1 Blowback Dragon
- 1 Chaos Sorcerer (add another Machine monster or Trap card if you don’t have it)
- 1 Cyber Dragon
- (1 Jinzo if you have it, take out a Shining Angel for it)
- 1 Cyber-End Dragon
- 1 Cyber-Twin Dragon
- 1 Gatling Dragon
- Spells: 16
- 1 Book of Moon
- 2 Burst Stream of Destruction
- 2 Giant Trunade
- 1 Graceful Charity
- 1 Heavy Storm
- 3 Limiter Removal
- 1 Megamorph
- 1 Metamorphosis
- 1 Mystical Space Typhoon
- 1 Pot of Greed
- 1 Premature Burial
- 1 Snatch Steal
- Traps: 7
- 1 Call of the Haunted
- 1 Dust Tornado
- 2 Metal Reflect Slime
- 1 Mirror Force
- 1 Ring of Destruction
- 1 Torrential Tribute
- Extra:5
- This deck is a really straightforward OTK, or One Turn Kill deck. Cyber Stein and Limiter Removal are both completely overpowered and win games by themselves. Mystic Tomato searches Sangan and Stein. Honestly, it’s these 4 cards that are the center for the deck and give you quick wins.
- Nimble Momonga thins the deck, adds life, and can bait backrow. Shining Angel puts LIGHT monsters in grave and thins the deck to get Y-Dragon head or Z-Metal Tank, which are the best Machine targets for Angel. You need LIGHT and DARK monsters to summon Chaos Sorcerer, an easy special summon with 2300 ATK that can banish. It can be dead early game, but it’s worth it. The rest of the monsters are Machines with interesting effects.
- Giant Trunade is really important, play it the turn you want to win to ensure that the OTK goes off. Megamorph is kind of a 4th Limiter if played correctly; Stein pays 5000, so you'll have lower life most of the time. Metamorphosis may look random, but works with Metal Reflect for an easy Cyber-End. A cute play is to summon Gatling Dragon with Cyber Stein, use Gatling’s effect to blow up monsters (hopefully), then use Metamorphosis to summon Cyber Twin from the extra.
- Metal Reflect is there for the aforementioned Cyber-End play, as well as a general wall to slow the game a bit, allowing you to draw pieces for a big combo. It can also be tribute summon fodder, and bait the opponent’s cards. Play with it a bit and you can see when it’s convenient to have. The rest of the traps are staples.
- In terms of the extra, you use Cyber-End, Cyber Twin; you summon those 95% of the time. You summon Gatling rarely with Stein, only when the Cyber fusions still wouldn’t win the game, and the opponent has multiple monsters you could blow up.
- Set Timing for Limiter to be during the Damage Step only. Set Timing for Call and Metal Reflect to be when the Main Phase ends.
- Now finally… time to wreck face! You’ll get your wins much faster with this deck. And since you're inflicting a ton of damage so quickly, you're getting significantly more DP! Because dueling is much easier now, you'll be mostly preoccupied with doing certain events, and of course, buying cards sometimes.
- - Since I don't have Mirror or Ring, I add Negate Attack and Trap Hole. I should have added Widespread Ruin instead of Negate Attack, my mistake. The reason I added X-Head was that I lacked a 3rd Angel. Regardless, it's planned to fix these issue soon.
- I know that was a lot, but that's just how much thought I've put into the deck. You have 30/200 wins so far... this deck is the one you use to get the next 170. It has to be consistent and fast.
- 1st Duel
- - So the goal now is to try to beat Obelisk Blue students up to 10 times to trigger an event. So I beat Chazz as much as possible this weekend, as he's probably the easiest Obelisk Blue you can beat.
- - What's annoying about Chazz is that he runs a lot of traps. And you probably don't have Jinzo at this point. You get Jinzo in the event I just mentioned, but honestly he would make things so much faster against this guy.
- - Overall this duel went slower than anticipated. Really, I hoped he'd just destroyed Sangan quickly, so that I could add Cyber Stein. But it took a few turns, you're not always lucky.
- - At around 25:10, I set Book of Moon. From flip summoning and attacking with Sangan, I know that his backrow cannot stop summons, or attacks. So I know that my Cyber Stein can go through.
- - A glitch is that Magic Jammer cannot be activated in the damage step. So even with back row, all I have to do is activate Limiter in the damage step, knowing that it can't be negated.
- 2nd Duel
- - At 26:40, I simply flip Nimble and attack. I want to see if I can trigger any back row. With my hand as it was, I knew I couldn't win that turn. So I decided to take the safe approach.
- - At around 27:55, I get his life down to 2750, and end. Even if I attacked with Stein and Nimble, I could not win that turn. The idea would be that Chazz simply set some monster and end, so Cyber Twin can win the game with two attacks. But of course, that doesn't happen lol
- - At around 28:20, you see me hesitate for a moment. I had to think of how I wanted to bait his cards, and see if I can win that turn. I make a pretty decent play to win.
- 3rd Duel
- - I could've done things a little bit cleaner but this duel went ok. I like it when Blowback Dragon works lol
- 4th Duel
- - I start off doing nothing, since I knew I could very easily win next turn with Stein, Limiter, and Heavy. Since I drew a second Limiter, literally anything in my extra could win the game that turn. So I chose Gatling since it was the first on the list.
- 5th Duel
- - I activate Torrential, knowing that he'd probably negate with Seven Tools. I activate MST before Heavy, since I didn't want heavy to get Magic Jammer'd.
- - In this duel, Blowback fails lol. So I check his grave to see what traps he's already used. Mirror was there, so I know that the only card he could stop me with was Magic Cylinder. So I attack, and luckily it wasn't Cylinder. I activate 2 Limiters in the Damage Step to win.
- The plan for the next vid is to get to a total of 10 wins on Obelisk Blue students. So I'll probably get 3 or 4 more Chazz wins, and a Zane win or 2, mainly since Chazz isn't around 100% of the time on the weekend.
- - If you've played the game, you probably know that if you beat Chazz 10 times, you can trigger an event to get to Obelisk Blue. But for a playthrough with a goal of becoming King of Games, this is bad, since you would skip an exam. And you need at least 12 exams to beat the game.
- Overall wins: 35
- Chazz (5)
