  1. A lone light flickered, once, twice; the Cat at the desk paused before flicking the tip of the lamp slightly, the light held. A jug of almond milk and some old newspapers were laid across his desk. Candy had no need for sleep, but the lack of activity tonight laid over him with enough wait to consider going on standby for the evening.
  2.
  3. Thump, thump.
  4.
  5. His servos revved, the light glowing behind his good eye as he jerked forward, nearly knocking over his drink.
  6.
  7. "What's up?"
  8.
  9. "It's your Sister, Boss."
  10.
  11. Before he could ask anymore questions, the sound of a key rattling into the lock of his door was audible and Chester- holding a 'fainted' Cindy in his arm, walked into the room. He jerked forward, meeting the monkey as he laid her down onto his desk.
  12.
  13. "What happened?"
  14.
  15. "Don't fret Boss, she's fine, just got a little flustered with a new customer."
  16.
  17. "New customer? Whattaya mean?"
  18.
  19. "Just how it sounds, Cindy got to him first, he treated her real gentle though, don't worry, she got overwhelmed and overheated."
  20.
  21. "Again?"
  22.
  23. "Yep." he finishes gruffly, withdrawing a lone cigar from his suit pocket, munching it between his teeth.
  24.
  25. "Well I'll help her rev back up, thanks Chester, we couldn't operate without you."
  26.
  27. "Sure thing Big C, let me know if you need anything." Chester laid a kind arm across Candy's shoulder, holding gaze briefly with his pinprick, broken eyes before leaving the room and locking the door behind him.
  28.
  29. Candy gazed over his sister, pink and white foam layered over smooth metal endoskeleton, cracks showing periodically throughout her form. Her good cheek was faintly glowing red still, enough indication that the damage was strictly temporary- and frankly, common.
  30.
  31. "Tut tut, Sis, you gotta get it together." he sighs, adjusting the cloth red ribbon on her chest, ensuring it was level. He chuckles, she was so warm, even to the touch, whatever fun went on without his notice tonight had a lasting impact.
