In a valiant but pointless attempt to cheer up their freshly-dumped friend and former Dungeons and Dragons legend, Joe, two enthusiastic Live Action Role Players--Eric, a 27-level Grand Sorcerer in the making, and Hung, a medieval Master Rogue--drag their sad companion to a large-scale LARP campaign in the middle of a forest. However, things will soon spin out of control, as a malevolently cryptic dark incantation from the pages of a seemingly innocent prop book of spells, inadvertently summons a demonic succubus bent on destruction. Now, try to stop a slaughterous extra-dimensional being with several foam sticks and a handful of plastic swords.

Knights of Badassdom is a disappointing schlock B grade horror/comedy film about a bunch of role players and dungeon &amp; dragon freaks that somehow unleash a succubus from an ancient book of spells purchased online.<br/><br/>There are moments of comedy but the director is too busy slaughtering its cast rather nastily and wastes its good cast (literally as some of them die early on) like Peter Dinklage, Danny Pudi and Steve Zahn.<br/><br/>Maybe the film wanted to be a homage to The Evil Dead movies but it seems their was post production interference which resulted in this incoherent mess.<br/><br/>At least Dinklage gets to do some cool badass slaughtering eventually.
  53. LARP&#39;s on a lark get chewed up and spit out for laughs in &quot;Knights of Badassdom&quot; (BTW: a terrible title!). The elaborate medieval role players are nothing but gore fodder, the production values are surprisingly high (the costumes are brilliant) and one of my favorite actresses (Summer Glau) is a highlight as she vamps it up in a pretty-good bad movie. This movie is made to order for Riff Trax, or just gather your nerdiest friends for a night of (deliberately) cringe-worthy dialogue and as fine a rednecks vs. nerds battle as has ever been filmed.<br/><br/>I would compare this movie to &quot;Sharknado&quot; in that both give the impression of being movies that were originally written as serious genre films (disaster and horror respectively) and someone had the sense to make them so over the top as to become entertaining camp.
  54. Dear Joe Lynch, please let me see your Director’s Cut ASAP? Knights Of Badassdom is an unfinished product, but it passes based on the content our director was able to salvage.
