  7.
  8. >”Ow! Shit!”
  9. “Stop picking at it”
  10. >”Fuck man, If I could I would but right now it really hurts” said Tinker as she rips a piece off of her dirt covered shirt and wraps it around her right hand
  11. >Tinker peels back the cloth to take another look at her shredded middle finger
  12. >”I think the bleeding is letting up but my finger still looks torn to shit. Goddamit, I wish Eve was here” said Tinker rewrapping the finger and sighing
  13. >”I don’t think Eve would allow herself to get dragged into a fucking mess like this to begin with” said Tyler as she rummaged through Mr.H’s canvas bag, examining all the goodies
  14. >You hear the snapping of branches in the distance as you turn on your heel, sweeping your uzi through the surrounding misty, dark forest
  15. >The air reeks of soggy rotten wood and wet moss
  16. “So? Are we getting closer to the cemetery yet Tyler? I feel like we’ve just been wandering aimlessly through the woods for an hour” you say squinting into the inky black void of the seemingly endless forest
  17. >”Yeah, stop pouting, I know these woods like the back of my hand.” Said Tyler not looking up from the bag, “Just keep going down the trail, we’ll be fine”
  18. >You hear the distant call of an owl and cracking branches as you continue down the poorly defined “trail”, every inch of it covered in roots and fallen trees
  19. >Eventually, You see the edge of the forest come into view, rays of peeking light from the stars guide you towards the exit
  20. >As you leave the edge of the forest you come to a crumbling set of tall stone steps with a rusty iron gate perched at the top
  21. >All three of you carefully climb the steps as some pieces of footing crumble away into dust and pebbles from the lightest touch
  22. >The rusty iron gate at the top is broken wide open, the bars long ago oxide and leaning lazily on their hinges with scraps of black paint peeling like charred flesh on a corpse
  23. >You look up at the iron arch over the gate, which reads, “Pity the living for only the dead know the truth of God’s salvation”
  24. >You shiver slightly as you walk over the broken gate doors and into an open field filled with tipped over gravestones and worn slab monuments
  25. >”Man, this is some spooky Halloween shit,” said Tinker casting her eyes back and forth across the graves
  26. >”Stop being such a puss. I’ve brought my fair share of cuties up here to fuck on graves and I never got spooked. Hell, I even knocked some of these graves over myself and nothing bad happened. Look” said Tyler as she pushed over a small hedge stone next to her.
  27. >The hedge stone landed on the dirt with a low thump as the slab broke into four chunks on the ground
  28. >”Are you trying to get our asses haunted? No wonder we’ve had such bad fucking luck you idiot!” said Tinker getting in her sister’s face
  29. >”Wow, and I didn’t take you for a shallow, superstitious, no-fun bitch” said Tyler
  30. >You glare back at the twins and shush them
  31. “Did you forget were trying to be quiet? Do you want to blow our cover?”
  32. >The twins crossed their arms and give each other a scornful look before continuing on deeper into the endless maze of granite, stone and marble
  33. >You squint your eyes, barely making out a flaming light in front of a gigantic rain-worn monument at the center of the cemetery
  34. “I think that’s it, come on let’s get closer,” you say waving the twins on
  35. >The three of you carefully climb over fallen memorials and crawl under fallen, vine wrapped, obelisks as you get closer to the warm glow
  36. >Eventually, you come upon the gargantuan monument. The base is a giant vault the size of a small house with hundreds of small child-sized tombs circling the outside with the sentences “No more pain for the innocents. Now only peace in the hands of a loving God” carved back to back repeatedly around the top ledge. On top of the tomb vault is perched a kneeling statue of a female angel, robed in flowing cloth with a swaddled baby cradled in her arms. The face is almost completely featureless except for the red metal rust bleeding from the edges of her hood and eyes. The child in her arms is headless, sawed off long ago by some bored pranksters in past.
  37. >You tuck your uzi under your arm and begin to climb up the side of the vault clambering over the ledges of the children’s tombs
  38. >You manage to make it to the top with little difficulty as you swing your legs over the edge and pull yourself up
  39. >You lean back over the edge and signal the twins to follow you
  40. >They just shake their heads and mouth the words “Are you fucking crazy?”
  41. >You roll your eyes and lean over the edge showing them you’ll help them up
  42. >Tyler shrugs at Tinker and runs up the wall, kicking off as she grabs your arms
  43. >You pull Tyler’s heavy ass up as you lean back over to grab Tinker
  44. >Tinker looks uneasy as she runs her paw over the entrance to one of the vault tombs
  45. >Tyler leans over with you and eggs her on
  46. >Tinker sighs and follows the same moves as Tyler as you both pull her up onto the vault roof
  47. >All three of you crawl around the side of the angelic mother as you stare down at the setup beneath you
  48. >In front of the grave vault there are six lit torches laid out in a V along its wall. At the center of the V lays a pile of freshly cut flowers and film pictures of young children and babies
  49. >About twenty feet further out lays a fallen over granite slab of some forgotten family surrounded by four chairs. The granite slab is covered in a simple, moldy, burlap cloth with smeared red and black stains. On top of the cloth is a circle of small burning oil lamps and a horned skull in the middle.
  50. >The air is silent except for the chirps of some crickets and the fluttering noise of open flames gasping for air
  51. *Fuck….Are we late? Did we miss everything?
  52. >You hear a crunch of bootsteps on wet grass and branches as you dart your eyes around
  53. >You can make out two figures coming from your right and two coming from your left towards the ceremonial table
  54. ”I think I see them, be as still as you can. I don’t want to hear either of you even breathing, ok?” you say to the twins as you pray to the beyond that they actually listen to you this time
  55. >You look back over your shoulder briefly to see them silently mocking you with hand puppets and facial gestures
  56. >You roll your eyes and look back down at the scene below
  57. >You see the four figures come into the flickering torchlight as you make out two bulls on the left side of the table and Riley and Mace on the right
  58. >One of the bulls is a giant with a height of around seven and a half feet, covered in rippling muscle with black hair. It wears a Frankenstein-stitched custom black business suit and carries an old M-16. Its face is covered in scars and the hair on its head is slicked back. Next to the giant is a tiny brown bull, smaller than any of the bulls you’ve seen since coming to Sturgis. The bull is slim and athletic with a height of about five foot ten. He sports a very expensive, newly pressed looking, red velvet suit with a light blue handkerchief folded neatly in the breast pocket. The bull’s horns are polished to a mirror shine and covered in gold-filled ring engravings.
  59. >All four of them nod at each other before walking over to the bed of cut flowers in front of the angelic mother statue, placing their weapons down in front of her
  60. >They all turn their pockets inside out and show the inside of their jackets to each other before walking back to the table and sitting down
  61. >The monstrous bull sits down in his chair with a weighty thump while the small bull stylishly swishes into his seat, propping his feet up on the table.
  62. >Riley and Mace stand silently behind their seats giving each other a cautious look
  63. >”Come on ladies, were on holy ground now. Just me and my large friend Baxter here. Hey, we ain’t going to bite unless you two do. Look I even brought a peace offering! Ain’t that just too sweet of me?” said Artur in a nasally Mafioso-like voice as he pulls a cigar box from his jacket and throws it down onto the table
  64. >Riley and Mace pull out their chairs and sit down as Artur reaches down to pluck a cigar from the box before lighting it
  65. >Artur leans over the table to offer Riley and Mace a cigar, “Come on, try one. They’re good. This box is from one of the last batches in existence left over from that atomic shithole cuba”
  66. >Riley simply waved a “no” as Mace sat there, arms crossed, glaring at Artur
  67. >”Must be nice having so much blood money to flaunt around, huh Artur?” Mace spits
  68. >Riley raises an arm in front of Mace signaling her to be quiet
  69. >Artur scowls at Mace as he gently places the cigar box onto the table before sitting back in his seat and kicking his feet up again
  70. > “Inheriting this slick deal came with a cost you cunt. That’s the cost of having to find out that some rando, hyena bitch offed your husband with one knife blow. You can’t even begin to know how that feels you dyke.” said Artur as he stared daggers towards Mace
  71. >Riley slams her fist on the table; “We did not come here to fling curses at each other! Artur, we need to deescalate this shit show before any more people die. Boris was the one who picked a fight with my second in command and you were the one who launched a surprise attack against us. You need to make this right, not us.”
  72. >Artur slid his feet off the table and leaned forward still looking at Mace, “And why should I feel obligated to appease a bunch of dirty skin-fuckers and human supporters?”
  73. >You could see all of Mace’s muscles clench up as she white knuckled her fists on the table
  74. >Riley glared down at the little bull showing her teeth, “Leave Mace out of this negotiation. This is between you and me. Leave your racist shit on the side for later bovine.”
  75. >”No,no,no,no.no.no” said Artur said wagging his finger, “Mace is very much a part of this discussion. Aren’t you Mace? You dirty skin puppet. You happy being a drone for the humans? Huh? Their little fuck slut? You happy that you are personally responsible for us living in this filthy wasteland huh?” said Artur leaning further across the table towards Mace
  76. >Riley quickly reached across the table and grabbed Arutur by one of his horns, holding his face to the large licking flame of an oil lamp
  77. >Baxter quickly stands up as Riley glares into the giant’s eyes, lowering Artur’s face closer to the flame
  78. >”Back up” she growls at Baxter
  79. >Baxter stands still holding his hands up in silence as Riley leans down to Artur’s ear
  80. >”I said leave her out of this. One more backhanded comment towards her and this meeting is over. Got it?” said Riley snapping her jaws
  81. >Smoke begins to trickle up from the side of Artur’s face as the flame begins to burn away the hair on his cheek
  82. >”Got it?” she repeated
  83. >”Ok, ok. Just chill roids. I won’t mock your girl anymore capiche? Now get your meaty paws off me” said Artur wincing in pain
  84. >Riley released Artur as he quickly sat back, brushing down the front of his now messed up jacket as he mumbled “crazy bitch” under his breath
  85. >”You know I’ve been doing some digging Artur. It seems like the Bastards are no longer the piss-ant gang they’ve always been. It seems like you’re making some real deep connections out there and getting yourself a pretty mountain of gold in the process. So, why are you picking a fight with us? It can’t just be because you’re a bunch of fucking racists” said Riley cracking her knuckles
  86. >Artur let out a quick laugh, “You think we’re the only ones who want to see you gone? Damn bitch, you are delusional. Have you seriously not heard any of the word on the streets? Are you that out of the loop?
  87. >Riley gives Artur a bored look and crosses her arms, “No, how about you enlighten us”
  88. >Artur lets out another quick laugh, “Everyone here thinks that you’re all secret operatives for some remnant of the human government. Do you seriously not wonder why people are hesitant when speaking with you? You think its because your all hyenas? Well, that’s part of it. Not to mention you stupid dogs just made that all a lot clearer by bringing a skin into our nice little village.”
  89. >”Bullshit” said Mace calmly sitting and staring at Artur as he glared back
  90. >”Bringing that skin around was one of the biggest fumbles of you bitches lives. Now everyone is convinced without a doubt to your intentions. Me being one of them, I for one don’t want any human spies amongst us, sowing fear into one of the last awesome sentient refuges in the Midwest. We want you out. We want you gone from Sturgis. For good.” Said Artur slamming his palm on the table
  91. >Riley slammed her fists down on the table again, “We’ve been coming here every year since this gang was born. We are one of the original attendees. Why the fuck would we be spies? Your sowing lies about us beef”
  92. >”Lies? I think not babes. You’ve got two ex-military among you and hyenas are renowned for being human military puppets. You should instead be asking why anyone should trust you bunch of skin-lovers to begin with?” said Artur pointing his cigar at Riley
  93. >”We’re not spies dammit! Are you really dumb enough to make large scale decisions based on a bunch of unfounded conspiracy rumors?” said Riley gritting her teeth
  94. >”Rumors are all we have to go on anymore missy pissy muscle queen.” Said Artur knocking his cigar ash onto the table cloth
  95. >A beeping noise comes from Artur’s pocket as he pulls out a long range walky talk and clicks it on, “How’s the mission going my man?”
  96. >Artur starts off the call enthusiastic but gradually his smile begins turns more and more into a scowl staring across at Riley and Mace
  97. >He clicks off the the walky talky before putting it back into his pocket and sighing loudly, “Speaking of rumors miss dyke, I do believe I just got some more info on your pro-human operation. It seems that three of your own, including that skin of yours, just killed two of my men and a local godfather. They also somehow managed to blow up the entire Main street slum probably killing hundreds more. So, What do you have to say to that you fucking traitors?”
  98. >Riley and Mace lean back in their chairs as concern spreads over their faces
  99. >”Your full of shit” said Mace
  100. >”Afraid not, it seems like the rumors are beginning to run wild amongst the bars and those trying to fight the fire. It seems like you got sloppy Riley, your operation is blown wide open. Before you know it, the whole cities going to be demanding your head on a pike.” Said Artur clapping his hands together
  101. >Riley stands up from the table, “We’ve got nothing more to discuss here. Come on Mace, let’s go find the others, were leaving”
  102. >Mace gets up and begins to take a step away from the table with Riley
  103. >”Ah ah ah! I don’t think so. We can’t just let a bunch of traitors walk free now can we” said Artur nudging Baxter
  104. >Baxter reaches into a secret pocket in his jacket and pulls out a flare gun, firing it into the air
  105. >”Any minute now, more of my friends should be coming to pick us up so in the mean time how about we make a little deal. You handover the dirty little skin-fucker there and we’ll let you all leave Sturgis in one piece. So whaddah say? We got a deal?” Said Artur looking at Riley
  106. >Mace’s body clenches again as her fists shake at her sides
  107. >”You want me to hand over one of my own to be killed? Do you have no honor bovine?” said Riley with disgust
  108. >The bull just laughed and doubled-down, slapping a hand on the table ”Honor? You’ve no room to talk bitch. Your kind is nothing but a bunch of lying, stealing, cheating, under handed, deviant…..
  109.
  110. “Skin”
  111.
  112. “Fuck”
  113.
  114. “-Ers!”
  115.
  116. >Mace roars as she swiftly climbs onto the table
  117. >In one quick motion she scoops an oil lantern off the table cloth and pitches it into Baxter’s face with all her strength
  118. >The lantern explodes, dousing the giant in a waterfall of fire over his entire upper body as he lets out a deep, monstrous, yell
  119. >Mace leaps off the stone table, tackling Artur to the ground, letting go a flurry of heavy punches as the bull covers his face with his arms
  120. “Fuck! come on!” you wave to the girls as all three of your frantically climb down the side of the vaulted tomb
  121. >The air fills with the smell of melting fur as Baxter swings his fists wildly towards Riley who quickly dodges his blows
  122. >You drop down off the side of the vault and begin to unload rounds into the monster’s back
  123. >Baxter begins to slow down but continues coming towards Riley as he tries to pin her against the vault wall
  124. >You curse as you quickly try to reload another magazine into your uzi
  125. >Riley grabs the shotgun off the flower memorial next to her, unloading all six slugs from the shotgun into the bull’s chest in quick succession
  126. >The bull lets out a deep guttural grown as he falls back with a weighty thud on the grass
  127. >Artur grabs his lit cigar lying next to him and jabs it into Mace’s shoulder as it sears her fur and skin. Mace recoils but manages to smack the cigar out of Artur’s left hand. With a pause in Mace’s punches, Artur reaches down with his right hand and pulls a switchblade from his boot.
  128. >He pops the blade out and drives it up between Mace’s ribs and she rolls over in pain
  129. >”That’s for Boris you skin-fucking cunt. How you like that shit! Huh?” said Artur as
  130. he climbs on top of Mace and begins rapidly stabbing her in the gut
  131. >A couple gunshots go off as Artur’s chest bursts with multiple bullet holes
  132. >Artur falls off of Mace as Tinker and Tyler stand ridged with smoking pistols
  133. >Mace holds her bleeding gut as she rolls onto the still breathing Artur, “Stupid…skin fuckers” he groans though a mouthful of blood as he stares up at Mace
  134. >Mace growls as she begins to pummel Artur’s face with one heavy blow after another. Each blow coming harder and faster than the last as Artur’s arms go limp at his sides and his feet begin to spasm
  135. >Mace keeps going, as her arms and chest become splattered in slimy gore, each new blow to his face sounding like the pounding of wet mud
  136. >Riley finally pulls Mace off of the dead bull, standing her on her feet away from the corpse whose face now resembles ground meat more than an actual person
  137. >Mace turns towards you and the twins as she clutches her bleeding stomach
  138. >“What the hell are you kids doing here? You’re supposed to be back at the motel!” she says through a clenched jaw
  139. >”That’s a nice way to respond to the people who just saved your ass” said Tyler dramatically blowing the smoke from the barrel of her pistol
  140. >Mace scowls at Tyler before grunting and falling to her knees ”Saving…you idiots….we don’t need-“
  141. >Suddenly a volley of bullets begins to land all around you as chips and plugs of dirt fly up from the marble and ground
  142. >You look into the distance and see vague shadows running out of the opposite tree line towards you
  143. >Riley shouts “move!” as she scoops Mace up in her arms and starts running away from the goons coming towards you
  144. >You grab Mace’s M4 leaning against the flower memorial and begin running as the twins fire off a couple blind shots before following behind you
  145. >Riley rushes up to the closest tree line and barrels on through it like a football player
  146. >You and the twins quickly follow riley through the dense tree line.
  147. > The mammoth hyena plowing through row after row of branches in her way, as she quickens her pace with every step
  148. >The forest didn’t feel so evil or intimidating now that Riley was causally smashing it into matchsticks. It seems so silly now that you were even scared in the first place
  149. >You can hear Riley try to calmly reassure Mace as she plows through the brush, “Mace! Keep with me solider, were going to get you back to Eve. Keep your eyes on me dammit”
  150. >You can hear Mace faintly say back to her over and over “I am fine….don’t worry about me….”
  151. >Riley finally smashes through the end of the dark forest and out onto an open hill overlooking the edge of the city
  152. >You take in the view of the city as you can now see the extensive damage that the slum fire has caused. The slum is now completely engulfed in flames as a black smoke tower several blocks wide billows high into the sky. Multiple shops and buildings next to the slums are now also engulfed in flames as people quickly rush to douse the buildings with what little water they can find
  153. >You look a little further out as you make out your motel in the distance with bright camera like flashes going off all around it
  154. “Is that gunfire?”
  155. >Riley looks towards the motel before grunting and sprinting full speed down the hill
  156. >You three try to keep up with Riley as you hear the shouts from the fire grow louder
  157.
  158. >The five of you encounter nobody in the streets as everyone in the city is either watching or responding to the giant fire consuming their lives
  159. >The deadness of the streets feels even eerier than before with distant shouts and crying echoing off the empty walls of the buildings surrounding you
  160. >You picture the buildings begging for their lives, asking you not to let them burn as their shadowy windowed eyes and open door mouths stare down at you
  161. >You shake the thought away as you get closer to the motel, hoping over and over that none of the Sisters were hurt
  162. >You can hear the ringing pops of gunfire responding back and forth to each other in brief volleys across the parking lot as you approach the motel
  163. >All of you crouch down along the wall of a general store directly across from the motel
  164. >All of you jump as a huge, flaming, burst of machine gun fire flies from the store’s large front window, raking randomly across the motel’s walls
  165. >Riley looks at you and the twins as she nods her head back towards a slightly open, metal side door
  166. >You nod back as you and the twins get up and carefully walk inside the general store
  167. >All around you are nocked over dusty shelves, empty tin cans, broken glass and tattered magazines
  168. >You signal for the twins to crouch down as all three of you slowly make your way through the abandoned store
  169. >An ear splitting burst of loud gunfire goes off again as you three try your best to cover your ears
  170. >You take your hands off your ears as you can hear arguing and grumbling near the front of the store
  171. >”I swear! I thought I saw one of them poke their head out!” you hear one voice shout followed by, ”Your eyes ain’t worth shit. Now you’ve gone and overheated the gun you dumbass” said another deeper voice
  172. >You and the twins turn a shelf corner as you see three bulls changing the barrel out on a light machine gun
  173. >One of the bulls sees you as they quickly try to dive for their gun
  174. >All three of you open fire, dumping a volley of lead into the shrieking bulls as they quickly crumple to the ground
  175. >You climb out the front window and run into the motel’s parking lot. The front of the motel now looking more desolate than before with a fresh coat of bullet holes and broken concrete
  176. “Angel! Dee! Eve! Delilah! Are you ok? We need help! You yelled into the vacant motel parking lot
  177. >Slowly a bullet-riddled door on the second floor cracks open a bit as Eve leans her head out
  178. >She quickly throws the door open and rushes down the stairs to embrace you in bear hug, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” She says with cheerful energy before looking over to Riley walking up the lot
  179. >Eve’s smile is quickly replaced by fear as she drops you, rushing over to Riley holding a limp Mace in her arms, “Mace! Gods, what have you gotten yourself into this time?” she said with a trembling voice as she frantically opened her med-pack
  180. >You look over to see Dee, Angel and whom you assumed was Delilah walking down the motel steps towards you
  181. >Delilah was covered head to toe in a long, flowing, dark black, thin cotton robe. The robe covered all of her body except for a hollow and malnourished looking muzzle barely poking from the end of the hood. Long needle-like claws clung to the front of the robe. She stood a couple feet behind Dee and Angel silent and unmoving, only observing. The hyena seemed more like a living shadow than a real person to you.
  182. >”We need to leave now. Did you girls manage to get any supplies?” said Riley lowering Mace onto the ground.
  183. > Eve quickly began working on Mace as she cleaned dirt from the bleeding wounds
  184. >”We only got a handful of what we needed and it took us twenty times longer than it should have to just get that. Many shop keepers just outright refused to sell to us. Its not like we don’t have the money to pay for the stuff the fucking assholes” Said Angel huffing and stomping her feet
  185. >”We got ambushed walking down one of the alleys by a couple bat swinging thugs but we quickly put them down.” Said Dee taking a step forward, “Then that huge explosion went off in the main slums and we rushed back here to check on the twins and pup. When we saw that they weren’t here we decided to head back out to search for you guys. As we began to leave, gunfire started coming from the general store pinning us down. We couldn’t even leave if we tried”
  186. >”Yeah well right now we better get out of dodge before the whole town comes down on us. Grab what supplies you can carry and get back here quick. We’re never coming back to Sturgis, understand?” said Riley sweeping her gaze over all the Sisters
  187. >”Riley? What’s going on?” said Eve trying to look into Riley’s eyes as she wrapped the last roll of bandages around Mace’s waist
  188. >”Honestly, if I had the time to explain it to you right now, you probably wouldn’t even believe me” said Riley rushing off towards her room followed by the twins
  189. >”I…understand. Ok, were good to go, lets get the fuck out of here” said Eve as she patted Mace “Can you make it to your bike?”
  190. >Mace looks over at Eve with a tired face, “Doc give me some good shit will yah?” she says faintly
  191. >”Mace, I don’t think that’s such a good idea with your condition right now” said Eve with concern growing across her face
  192. >”Goddamit doc just give me the fucking juice, alright? Spare me the worry and details,” said Mace rolling her half-lidded eyes
  193. >Eve just frowns as she turns towards her med pack and pulls out an injector. She quickly pops the cap off with her thumb and slams the needle down through the top side of Mace’s chest
  194. >Mace’s eyes become wide and open as she sits up coughing and gasping for air
  195. >”Alright everyone, she’s back again. Now come on, let’s get a move on before the entire town rips us to shreds” said Eve picking up her stuff and closing her med pack
  196. >”Here kid, gimme my gun. “ said Mace slowly getting to her feet, “By the way, do you happen to know how to ride a motorcycle?”
  197. >You see the rest of the sister’s frantically running down the steps, strapping what little supplies they have to their idling bikes
  198. “Never driven one in my life” you say as you hand the M-4 rifle off to the old, torn up hyena
  199. >Mace cracks her neck before continuing to slowly crack every one of her joints one by one
  200. >You begin to hear crowds of people shouting and gunfire in the distance
  201. >”Whelp, you better learn fast. One of us has to guard the rear in case we get some chums that feel the need to run us down while we make our get away. And, since I am the best shot, that chore falls to me. You ever drive stick?” said Mace inspecting her rifle and checking the magazine as you both walk over to the row of motorcycles
  202. “Yeah my old family truck was a stick,” you say as Mace motions for you to sit on her bike
  203. >The bike is a slim chopper covered in a dark army fatigue green, black trim, and leather saddlebags
  204. >The rest of the sisters pull their bikes forward, moving around to form a tight grouping pointed out towards the main road
  205. >”Well you see kid, it’s a lot like driving a stick. Now follow what I am about to say to the T got it?” says Mace as she gives you a quick rundown of all the parts of the bike and how to drive it
  206. >You still don’t feel confident but you don’t really have any other choice
  207. >You turn over the engine as the bike roars to life, the handles vibrating in your grip
  208. >You kick up the stand and roll the bike over behind the rest of the motorcycle convoy
  209. >The shouting and gunfire are now only a block away as you can begin to make out curses and slurs from the noise
  210. >”Y’all good kid?” Mace says as she calmly puts her paw on your shoulder and smiles
  211. ”No, but I don’t really have a choice do I?”
  212. >”Nope. But I have faith in you kid. You’ll do fine. Once we get onto the highway you just keep the bike in a straight line.” Said Mace cocking her rifle and swinging herself over the tall back seat of the bike facing backwards, her arms and rifle braced on the top rim
  213. >”Ready!” Mace yells
  214. >You can hear the first bikes revving up and taking off down onto the main road as people begin pouring out of the alley ways around the general store
  215. >Many of them have pipes or blunt objects in their hands but many probably have guns out of sight just waiting to dispense vigilante justice
  216. >”SKIN FUCKERS! FED PUPPETS! SCUM!” you hear the crowd shout as you try to give the motorcycle some gas
  217. >You almost stall the engine as you kick the bike into first gear. You try to give the bike a little gas as the engine wavers. Sweat begins to drip from your brow as the it begins to slowly die once more. Mace cheers you on as she stares into the rapidly approaching mob “come on kid, you got this, you got this” she says
  218. >The first gear finally engages as the bike roughly sputters to life quickly gaining speed away from the vicious mob
  219. >At first you rev the gears too high and make awkward shifts but eventually you get the hang of it as you slowly maneuver around the corners and streets following closely after the rest of the sisters
  220. >You swoop around all the burnt out vehicles and junk piles lying in the streets as your mind fills with a childhood memory of you learning to ride your first bike
  221. >You’re quickly jerked out of your memory as the sound of whizzing bullets pass by your head and impact the asphalt next to you
  222. >You look up briefly to see people firing down on you from the tops of buildings or throwing whatever they could get their hands on from their balcony
  223. >Mace quickly silences them with a couple well place bursts from her rifle
  224. >”Keep going kid, don’t stop, we ain’t out of this shitstorm yet” says Mace keeping a stone-like rigidness and all encompassing alertness to her form
  225. >The open highway quickly approaches as you can make out the fallen over Sturgis sign.
  226. >You peer into the distance as you see a large line of people stretched end to end in front of the road
  227. >You begin to slow down as you start to panic
  228. >”Speed up kid” said Mace harshly
  229. “but…”
  230. >”I said speed up!” she demanded
  231. >All the Sister’s bikes in front of you rev hard before tearing full speed towards the mob in front of you
  232. >You twist back on the accelerator as you feel your body being pushed back by the sudden force
  233. >The bikes nearly slam into the crowd as people dive out of the way just in time to not get turned into a fine mist
  234. >You hear screaming and shouting behind you from the irate mob as the Sisters’ motorcycles tear out into the open highway
  235. >You feel a pat on your shoulder again as Mace leans back, “Good job kid. See I knew you could do it, yah just gotta have a little faith in yourself”
  236. >You feel a sense of pride begin to well in your chest
  237. *I did do it didn’t I?
  238. >You hear a couple bullets whiz past your head again as you quickly glance back
  239. >A giant flood of motorcycles begins to pour out from Sturgis towards the Sisters at tremendous speed
  240. >Many of the bikers in the front of the mob wildly fire submachine guns or pistols over their handlebars at you
  241. >”Fuck, I knew they wouldn’t let us go that easily” said Mace as she switched her rifle to single fire and let loose some rounds
  242. >One bike after another tumbles over onto to the asphalt as Mace rapidly fires off consecutive rounds. Each bullet finding its target as the assailing bikers began to slow down for a brief moment.
  243. >Mace reloads her rifle as more bikers form up to take the fallen’s place, closing the gap even more
  244. >”Fucking hell, they must have a hundred bikers on us. Faster kid! Faster!” said Mace as she continued to fire off more rounds at the quickly descending swarm
  245. >You give the bike all the gas you can as you can hear the engine beginning to reach its limits
  246. *Goddamit! Come on! Just a little bit faster!
  247. >Mace empties another clip into the swarm, dropping another row of goons
  248. >”Just fucking leave us alone you bastards! Crawl back to your shithole of a town already!” screamed Mace as she slams another magazine into her overheated gun
  249. >An immense hail of bullets land all around you as small rounds spark off of the bikes’ frame
  250. >”FUCK!” you hear Mace shout as you look back to she her clutching her now completely shredded left shoulder
  251. ”Mace! Are yo-”
  252. “Fucksake kid keep your head forward! Don’t you dare worry about me! Just keep going!” she says as she levels her rifle onto the backseat once more
  253. >Mace switches her gun back to automatic as she sweeps it back and forth over the mob
  254. >A couple more bikers fall as the mob slows down once more. Mace quickly reloads the gun and begins to empty another clip into the bikers as more bullets began to fall around you
  255. >Mace screams as the flash from her muzzle illuminates her face ”LEAVE MY SISTERS ALONE! YOU FU-“
  256. >You hear the sound of bursting flesh, as your back feels suddenly drenched with hot liquid
  257. “Mace?......Mace?”
  258. >No response
  259. >You feel the weight of Mace’s head lightly slump back onto your right shoulder
  260. “MACE?!”
  261. >The female hyena’s head slowly slides off your shoulder as you hear her collapse over onto the speeding asphalt below
  262. >You look over your shoulder to see Mace’s lifeless body roll along the road for a bit before coming to a stop face down. Blood quickly pools around her still body as the bikers in the distance begin to recover and pick up speed
  263. >You slam on the brakes and drift the motorcycle in a one-eighty before flooring it back to Mace
  264. >You pull the motorcycle up next to her in the middle of the highway
  265. >You quickly jump off the idling motorcycle and crouch down next to her
  266. >You grab Mace by the shoulder and roll her over to face you
  267. >Mace’s throat is completely in shreds as you can see the exit wound through to the road underneath. You pick up her head in your right hand as you feel a hole near the back of her skull. You notice blood seeping out through a dark wound under her right eye.
  268. “Mace…” you say taking one of her paws in you hand
  269. >Mace struggles to speak, looking up at you as a strained smile crosses her muzzle
  270. >You bring your ear down close to her as you hear her say, “good……kid…….Saw….yer….”
  271. >You squeeze her paw as it goes cold and limp in your hand
  272. >A large paw rips your backpack off your shoulders and picks you up onto your feet
  273. >Riley bends over, checking the pulse on Mace’s body before picking the M-4 still at her side and unloading it into the oncoming bikers. The bikers stopped briefly again as a couple more of them fall. Riley opens up your backpack and simultaneously yanks the pins out of all of the remaining grenades.
  274. >Riley tosses the backpack down against Mace’s bike and slings the M-4 over her shoulder
  275. “What are you doing? Your going to kill her!” you scream at Riley
  276. >Riley doesn’t even look at you as she grabs you by the back of your throat and drags you over to her motorcycle
  277. >She throws you down onto the back seat. Before you can attempt to climb off the bike and run back to Mace, Riley revs the engine and peels down the highway towards the rest of the Sisters now far in the distance
  278. >You pound your fists on Riley’s back as you try to shout over the screaming engine “We need to go back! We need to get Mace! RILEY!”
  279. >Suddenly you hear a thunderous boom as Mace’s motorcycle goes up in a large fireball, engulfing the entire width of the highway
  280. >You look back to see a large flaming mushroom cloud dissipating into the sky as the road is litter with flaming corpses
  281. >A few survivors try desperately put out the flames on their fur but quickly succumb to rapidly spreading inferno
  282. >The handful of surviving bikers following you quickly turn back around to help those caught in the explosion
  283. >You feel nauseous as you look back over the carnage you brought to the people of Sturgis
  284. >Far in the distance you can still make out the pillar of black smoke rising far into the heavens as the blaze in Sturgis continues, consuming everything around it
  285. >You wrap your arms around Riley’s waist and begin to sob into the smoky leather jacket
  286. *This is all my fault……
